  1. Yup, I have a package of terminals already in transit. So, I screwed either way. Why couldn't they have waited another week or so...
  2. They would be the voice coil would be disconnected from the terminal and connected ''internal'' so to speak. Then the terminals would be connected together.

From what I gather he wants to connect the positive and negative from one coil together with out using the terminals. and then connecting the terminals on each side to it's buddy on the same side. So then he could use each terminal on the same side, one as the input and the other as out put. EX. Hope that clears things up. IMO It should work. A little complicated but hey, that's how people learn new things.
  4. I figured out the problem! I hooked one of the wires up wrong. heheh
  5. Car starts no problem. The batery just won't charge.
  6. A healthy battery should rest around 12.6v. Both batteries are resting around 12.6v. I am about to test the new alt to see what it's putting out.
  7. Besides the alternator being fried what would cause the charging system to fail? I changed the alternator and put in a new battery and yet when ever I start the car the batteries (the old one and new one) both drop into the 11 range.
  8. I found out somthing odd while removing the alt from my parts car. The ground from the alt runs to thengine block and to the strut tower. Then from the strut tower to the battery. I still need to find where the positive goes. This is one messed up car.

  10. So I pulled the alt. out completely and this is what the ground looked like. I think the alt. is finito... hope fully the one off my parts car is still good.
  11. What is the reading coming from the post on the alternator? Damn I can't exactly remember I think it was around 12... I'll go double check, when my Gf gets up.
  12. I tested my alt.and it's putting out power. The thing that is confusing me is that the positive has two wires comming from it.

  15. I was going to get it tested to make sure it was the alternater. I'm also going to go over all the wires to see if there are any lose or dammeged ones. This may be a dumb question but I've never used one before. What setting do I put the DDm to?

  17. Guess that means I need to get the h.o. one I've been wanting.
  18. So, I think my alternator quit on me. I was driving and my head unit was bugging out. It would not play sound and the would shut off. I thought it was a loose wire. But later on, all my electrical was bugging out. Then about 2 minutes later the car died. I tried to restart it but nothing. Luckily it died near a parking lot. I pushed it in and a guy was nice enough to boost me. After the boost the car started no problem, then 5 min later (30 seconds from home) the car died again. Form all the happend I'm assuming it's the alternaor not charging.
