  1. Just curious what specific features or specifications you look for when looking for secondary batteries in your setup. I will be going with XS power when i upgrade just looking to learn some more specifics and become more knowledgeable With that being said, I work at good ole menards (WOOT for any other menardians out there suffering at shitholes across the midwest lolz)and we just started carrying car/marine/rv batteries. with my discount i can get this batt for around $60 Just curious if it would be worth the minimal dent on the wallet or not. would go into a 99 civic lx with a 75amp stock alt Thanks! --Andrew
  2. are the kicker comps 70 a set im guessing? or for all 4?
  3. If I hadnt made my first trip to the strip club this past saturday I'd buy that amp off ya right now for $200! plus i need to invest in electrical too first so But honestly I think a big part of it is how patient you are. If youre in no hurry to sell it don't go a penny under $200 otherwise adjust accordingly
  4. Finally got my LVL 4 in the mail today! its a 12" 1ohm DVC Going into a '99 Honda Civic. Only upgrades as of now are the big3 w/ 0ga. Knukno wire and my h.u. which is a JVC KD-R310. Last system that I sold a few weeks back was 2 15" Kicker comps on a kicker zx500.1 hopefully getting a 500-1200 watt rms amp in the next week or so. Will be building the box tomorrow so Ill try and get some pics up then. Going to be sitting in roughly 2cubes tuned to 35 hz with 32cuin of port rough outer dims are H:14 W:32 D:16
  5. I used to use a site called JamGlue but they got shut down awhile back for some copyright infringement shenanigans lolz
  6. np man lol I've been listening to it commuting lately and have come to the realization that bumpin some dubstep on the way to my daily ( ) 8am class DEF helps to get in a better (or at least more awake) mood hahaha
  7. Anyone know of a website where you can upload and edit mp3's? I'm just looking to cut up an audio track and maybe fade in/out. Got a 2 hour satellite radio rip off some electronic/dubstep station. just wanna break it up into sections so i dont have to fastforward/rewind through it Heres the download link for the radio rip if anyone wants it. http://hulkshare.com/ndyxpohbte46 It was a 2hr mix Skrillex did on his radio show with a combination of techno tracks, house bangers, some dubstep, and even some of his original stuff. Pretty dank mix if ya ask me
  8. Level 4 12" to 60136 1ohm DVC also curious how much extra would direct leads and CF Dustcap would each be? Lookin to buy today!!!!! CC and/or Paypal at the ready
  9. i have the voltmeter wired directly to the + terminal of the battery. I have found a solution I am just a little fuzzy on a small detail regarding a toggle switch. Ive used tons of the simple ones in the past but im just curious how to wire a toggle switch with MULTIPLE THROWS. Is this just a basic toggle that has a (off) middle position and say two different on positions (up and down)? heres what I'm goin on-- ______________________________________________________________________________________________ If I interpret your diagram correctly, a simple SPDT toggle switch would work if wired like this: 1. Cut ELD green/red wire as in your circuit. 2. The half of that wire coming from the PCM goes to the POLE of the toggle switch. 3. The other half goes to one of the THROWS of the switch; the POLE would be switched to this THROW when I want to ELD to work normally. 4. The other THROW goes through an 820-ohm resistor to the black ELD ground wire at the plug; switching to this THROW would bypass the ELD and cause the alternator to turn on and charge the battery all the time. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ is this the rough diagram for the switch?? with possibly another ground for the switch? just need a basic toggle no light or anything
  10. Lookin to buy a DC Level 4 12" with 1ohmDVC. will consider upgraded LVL4 if the price is right
  11. It does take a significant amount of gas to get back to 14.4. a little over 3k rpms to be exact. I am about 90% pos. that is is this ELD circuit that is in place to supposedly save fuel by turning off the alt. under a certain set of conditions-- post from someone on the thread Jesseland started cuz his civic has the same prob-- The computer instructs the alternator to drop from 14.5 volts to 12.5 (ie. not charging the battery) when all of the following are true: - Load below 10A - Speed below 40 MPH - Engine speed below 3600 RPM - Coolant temp above 140 F - A/C off - Intake air temp above 65 F - Brake switch off - Fuel cut-off not active turn your AC on -------- I tried the AC trick and even with almost zero air flow (barely turning it on) my voltage jumped back up..... for 10-20 sec Heres a post on a honda forum i found that shows a possible solution i might try out http://www.hondaaccordforum.com/forum/audio-visual-electronics-10/honda-electrical-load-detection-eld-bypass-32726/
  12. is there any easy way to bypass this without replacing the computer?
  13. AHH thats what i forgot to add. the idle rpm is usually 900-1000. and someone mentioned something about the alternator not putting out voltage because the rpms are not high enough. i dont think this cant be it b/c i can drive steadily around 20-40mph with rpms sitting anywhere from 2-3k and the voltage will still sit in the 12 range from time to time
  14. I know that alot of little things can cause voltage drop but im pretty sure nothing should cause such a drastic drop such as what I'm seeing.. Not too sure... resting voltage is around 12.6 so im pretty sure its still good but ya never know.. Im eventually replacing the stock with an XS 5100R so i guess i just might be doin that sooner than later THIS!! I looked around a bit and found a thread on a civic forum and it sounds like you have to bypass it. Kinda pissed i might have to spend an extra $100 or so on a stupid adapter. Also says I might have to replace my ECU??? I am guessing that this ELD circuit is the case but here are some VIDS showing different times when it drops into the 12's --cruising around 50 then slow down, turn, stop, floor it to show the voltage gaining then leveling off around 40mph. heres the weird part... after that i just coast and put it in nuetral, then back to drive. cruisin on the highway, then slowing down to about 20 then speeding back up sitting in traffic, put it into nuetral, then when i put it back into drive voltage stays up until i accelerate.jumps up to normal when i floor it, drops down when i start to cruise, then bumps back up as i level off These vids give anybody any more ideas?
  15. '99 Honda Civic lx. i have the grounds half of the big three done just gotta get some wire sheathing for the + run to the alt. ill try and see if i can look at the stock wire tomorrow tho. and the alt should be fine. car only had one owner who was an old lady who babied it (still only has 45k miles ) and im 95% pos my lil 500 watt amp wouldnt kill. lowest ive seen it dip on full tilt is 13.4v
  16. About a week ago i finally invested in a voltmeter. really only for show now since im only running 500w but what the heck right? noticed some random voltage spikes that went down to the mid to low 12volt range and narrowed it down a bit and to tell the truth i am very confused to say the least on startup and for the majority of driving voltage is fine at 14.3-14.4 volts drops down occasionally when i -shift into gear (anything besides park or neutral) -sometimes its only for a few seconds, sometimes i have to rev it to get back to the 14v range and then it will stay there -brake while cruising down road i drove to school with the stereo paused so no music has been playing and this still happens. ANY IDEAS AS TO WHAT COULD POSSIBLY BE CAUSING THESE VOLTAGE DROPS?????? i will record a few vids on the way to school tomorrow and put em up after class to try and show this a little better Thanks for any input!! -Andrew
  17. my buddy derrick back at bradley had a group named hipnotiq, might not be at the same skill lever but still threw shit down, madd props for the dance skill. skip to the 1:00 mark for when they finally start
  18. i am planning on making it 30" wide so that would actually work fine! i was working with more of a square sized port... maybe thats why i was having issues. Thanks again!
  19. I was thinking the same thing. Thanks I appreciate it!! idk if you go by it our not but i was messing around with the torres calc and couldnt get the tuning freq. below the mid 40's with that volume and port area with any reasonable lengths... BTW, Ram how much would you charge for a design for something like this? i might just sacrifice a few bucks to make sure its done right. EDIT_ now that my dumbass thinks of it are you guys suggesting that i keep it tuned in the mid 40's or something in that area? I mostly listen to rap and hiphop with some dubstep thrown in aswell
  20. That was def one of the amps at the top of the list if I could get the moniezz
  21. I'm assuming you meant that when i said upgrading you thought i was just getting better quality amp instead of moar power? When i said eventually upgrading I meant to something that was 1k watts rms so it'd be fully powered. I still dont know if i will upgrade or not.. since the plan is to eventually get two of these and get em fully powered but im far away from that b/c of the money situation unfortunately... so i might just wait until i can get into the full setup i want to get in the long run. Who knows by that time DC might have their new lineup out
  22. A kicker zx500.1 so I'd get the D1 and wire the vc's in series to get 2ohms plus the birthsheet i got with it has it putting out in the low 600's i believe
  23. I am getting a DC LVL 4 12 soon and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a ballpark volume and port area. Box will be sub and port firing forward. Also curious on how anyone thinks a tuning freq of 35hz sounds (goal is mostly SQ but still wanna try and get loud with the power im giving it -->) Only reason I ask is that I will only be able to give it 500w rms till i can afford a bigger amp sometime this winter/nxt spring and i keep hearing that less power=bigger enclosure. Thanks for any input! -Andrew EDIT- also i shouldn't really have any size restrictions besides the height which is a max of 14"
  24. dont know any firsthand knowledge but my buddy who just got outta the marines was considering getting one. sounded like its a great overall rifle.
