  1. Once they get the firewall fixed more videos will come -- Rob (the builder) has been very busy and out of town alot lately.
  2. For comparison sake... I built two v.1 Nightshades... the one with the actual production 50mm coil still got up to 155.5 dB... I was testing for differences in the other changes I made to the coil for the v.2
  3. So I got the v.1 Nightshade up to 155.9 dB today on a 16v system -- right at 9.8kw clamped power. Used a slightly different coil but the cone / spider were the bone stock Nightshade parts... no pole plug of any kind used either. Not quite as good as the NS v.2 -- which did 156.1 on 12v on the same amps / same load... anxiously awaiting putting the v.2 in there on the 16v system I am hoping for 157+ from it ! Crappy pics of the sub... but I got the score : The coil is like the NS v.2 coil but only 50mm long... kind of a mix of the v.1 coil and the v.2 coil
  4. Yep -- wait is normal, you are fine.

  6. Same as the suggestion in the OP: "We suggest 0.6 - 1 cube ported tuned to 30-40 hz based on your goals and preferences." Since you are at the high end of power go for the small end of box size -- 0.6 cubes. Tune to your musical taste and set subsonic accordingly.
  7. Just e-mail Brad - [email protected] He may be having site problems.

  9. You need a series connection for 2 ohms JL has some really good tutorials on their site.
  10. Hey guys... I had to strengthen my SPAM filter today... finally got to the end of my rope on it -- I had 300 SPAM e-mails over the weekend and it's a pain to sort through and find the good ones I need to answer. SO... starting today if you e-mail me and DO NOT hear back within 2-5 days please post up here so I can make sure my SPAM filter isn't TOO strong.
  11. Only four D4s left... still a decent bit of D2.
  12. All Canadian orders are handled through our Canadian distributor - Smart Auto Sound.
  13. The ETA is "mid to late February" per the OP. Four on the AP 3000 is okay - just watch your gains.
  14. It's going to be hard to overcome that much additional cone area... I don't think four of these will out-perform, overall, four CVR 15s.
  15. Why would you need to do that ? You can get an estimate by looking @ the max current draw of 500 amps (on a 12v system) and multiplying by the % of full output you are seeking. So... for 2500 watts assume around 250 amps. If you simply want to know what electrical to use we have recommendations on the site.
  16. All sizes are in stock. You can always e-mail Derrick.

  18. I'm sure you will see plenty once they arrive
  19. Wire to 2 ohms -- the SAE-1200D is surprisingly strong at 2 ohms.
  20. Mark from *** does the site for me -- IMO it's the best looking sit I've had yet regardless
  21. http://www.sundownaudio.com/ All amps now have photos. Added mounting / box specs for the Nightshades. Mark (web guy) also added some new featured Ride stuff and some reviews.
  22. rival, Efficiency "ratings" are a bit of BS any way you slice it... it's going to vary dramatically based on the vehicle, setup, frequency, etc. The design of the 4500D was for very high efficiency... hence 8 power supply transformers to spread the load out. Same reason the 3500D went to four transformers vs. two in the 3000D. I'm sure you will see some comparative tests soon enough.
