  1. SAE-1200Ds were just released from customs - so they should be on a truck headed to me soon!
  2. It's a smaller motor than the Nightshade - both width and height:
  3. MSRP around $449 on the 15s. MSRP around $429 on the 12s. Street price will be under that as usual. Comparably the MSRP on the Nightshade 15 is $599 and the 12" is $549.
  4. I am quite pleased with this model. Also made in the USA like the Nightshade!
  5. * High / Narrow roll surround * Triple stack magnet slugs * Tied down leads / bolted down spider Uses a nicely sized 3" coil.
  6. If your primary concern is the number on the meter then you may want to go with more power - you won't lose a full 1.5 dB, that is theoretical. Most likely it would be 1 dB or less You could run the 3000D @ 16 volts and get more power if that is an option.
  7. 3000 to 4500 watts is at most 1.5 dB in theory... with power compression, most likely around 1 dB. Pretty much the minimum audible threshold. Just something to think about.
  8. IMO... for daily... 1/2 ohm is not worth the added current draw, stress on the amp, and lack of full warranty support and coverage. You will gain some power... but not enough to really justify it unless you compete in SPL.
  9. I'm hoping to have the alternator in a week or two
  10. "Z" series woofer, eg: Z15 / Z12
  11. New Warranty policy stipulations effective as of 10-2-2008 within the USA: 1) If your amplifier has a blown power supply or damage from excessive vibration there will be a charge for a warranty replacement within the 2-year policy: * SAZ-1500D and smaller amplifiers (or any future model under 2000 watts) - $30 in the continental USA (AK and HI add $15) * SAZ-2000D and SAZ-3000D (or any future model 2000 - 3000 watts) - $50 in the continental USA (AK and HI add $20) 2) If there is no obvious sign of either of the above the warranty replacement within the 2-year policy will remain a free replacement. 3) For either free replacement or flat-rate charge replacement the amplifier must be in at least "fair" condition. Amplifiers with excessive wear and tear and/or physical damage, as deemed by the sole discretion of Sundown Audio, will fall under the following stipulations: * Blown power supply or excessive vibration damage will be fixed by db-R Electronics and customer will be charged for actual repair and shipping costs. * Amplifiers that qualify for free replacement but are in less than "fair" condition will be repaired by db-R Electronics at no cost to the customer. 4) For any of the above it is assumed that the customer has shipped the amplifier back to Sundown Audio properly packaged and it has been received without physical damage from shipping. As stated in the current warranty text, "In the event of shipping damage due to improper packaging of the return the customer is liable for the cost of all damages, necessary repairs, or replacement." 5) After the 2-year policy has expired the 5-year discounted replacement policy will be in effect for 3 more years. The cost of the discounted replacement will vary on a pro-rated scale based on the physical condition of your returned amplifier. This will be handled on an individual basis - replacement cost will start at around 1/2 of MSRP cost for units with excessive wear and tear and/or physical damage and decrease for units in excellent condition. As stated in the current warranty text, "This offer applies ONLY to the original purchaser of the unit and is not transferable like the 2 year limited warranty."
  12. Prototype is done - find me a bank that isn't scared to lend right now and I'll make em
  13. I think one in particular is what you want - "Z" series - 1000-watt driver.
  14. Yes. I have plans for quite a few lines of subs below the Nightshades - just taking some time to fill it all out.
  15. Pretty sure he will be at Indy - would be alot closer than Cali
  16. Haha - I think you will be happy with it.
  17. Not my car by the way... I am expecting to see awesome numbers from it, though!
  18. Yes... that is 8 MORE amps you see behind the glass -- 16 total amps More pics after finals!
  19. I am pretty happy with it so far. I am expecting 152s with a new alternator - and perhaps 154s with double the power later
  20. Held 30 seconds at my burp volume at a MECA show over the weekend... with a bad start (judge told me 3 seconds late) I did 122 dB average for 30 seconds 6 feet from the open passenger side window
  21. Nah - the alt is a few weeks out, it is being built - didn't want to wait to do testing
