  1. Sold the last of the SAE-1200Ds today and this line is now discontinued. The SAE-1200D v.2 made big strides in reliability vs. the v.1 model but still does not quite live up to the standard set by the SAZ/SAX series amps in my mind. It was a tough decision as we really wanted to offer a lower cost line but at this time it is not fitting into my plan for Sundown Audio. I've spent alot of time thinking about it and had not made my final decision until today -- I had made plans to introduce matching multi-channels but these plans are now halted. I think the change will be for the better as we can concentrate on our core lines, the SAX and SAZ amps. The SAX-1200D is only slightly more expensive than the SAE-1200D v.2 for customers shopping in that range and we are also working on lower cost SAX line multi-channel amps built alongside their bigger brothers in Korea. Obviously service / warranty support will continue for the SAE amps sold already. Thanks for your support.
  2. They have been available for some time... site just hasn't included them yet. We sold a whole production run already.
  3. My import agent just called me up and said stickering is done and I should have the subs tomorrow. If that is accurate we'll start shipping tomorrow and *hopefully* ship all the pre-sold subs by Friday.
  4. 1500 RMS... as I don't warranty over that I'm not going to tell you to do any more than that. You can look around and see what has been done... Derrick ran two 3500s each and won the title in his bass boxing class @ SBN.
  5. I am hoping none of my subs come up missing. On the first run of 4500s they got held for a while and 3 amps were stolen! In any event - will update the forums as soon as I get word they are done stickering the boxes.
  6. The ETA is still the same based on my latest workd - and that time hasn't been reached yet.
  7. I just got back from driving down there again... dropped off 1500 stickers so they can put as many as they want on them and I won't have to drive back down if they change their mind (they now have 2000 stickers total). I THINK I talked them into just doing two per box... but we'll see. Will keep you guys updated.
  8. It's actually worse than that... my contact misunderstood and they want two labels on the outside box and two on the inside box (they are double boxed). It's going to take them all week to separate the boxes and label both... Sorry guys... out of my hands at the moment. I am trying to reason with them... we'll see what I can do.
  9. <rant> You have GOT to be kidding me... apparently the "senior inspector" has something stuck up his rear-end and wants the "Made in China" stickers on four sides of every box now... SO I have to drive down there and bring MORE stickers and wait a few more days again. This is the stupidest thing I've ever heard of. </rant>
  10. Latest from my import company: "I just spoke with the Senior Inspector. He is going to the exam station around lunch time to inspect the marking. He said he would call me with the results once he is finished. I will advise."
  11. The big caps are typically CapXon brand -- sometimes you will find DKE used as well.
  12. No, we typically don't allow customer visits save for a few Team members -- this is a high theft industry... my personal friend Nick @ Stereo Integrity was completely wiped out a few years ago... every single speaker he had. So I am a bit cautious. In any event... the amps are made in Korea and from the time I tell them to start to me getting them @ my door is about 90 days. Actually making them doesn't take too horribly long as much of it is automated now (some parts are hand inserted) -- ordering all the parts and shipping takes the longest.
  13. Very... need to get more next time... we'll be out for 3-4 months again.
  14. Sold out. Unless you have talked to me in the last day or two and a deal is in the works no more are available at this time. ETA for more not yet set.
  15. Hard to say - they flew out of here pretty quick last time!
  16. The Z v.2 woofers are back in stock. There have been a few revisions made : 1) The top shorting ring has been removed -- but the internal ring was upgraded from aluminum to copper. 2) The coil windings changed from 4-layer flat aluminum to 4-layer round bifilar copper -- this lowers Fs a bit and I tested no loss in efficiency at lower power and a small gain at high power. Coil is a bit more robust than the aluminum was as well due to additional mass. Copper also has a lower thermal expansion to accommodate the Z v.2 tight gap. All in all it makes the driver more tolerant to abuse. --- We still have the 4-layer flat aluminum coils to match other subs on re-cones... also, the motors can be mixed as the shorting ring material change is not a huge difference.
  17. An 8 isn't going to happen with your motor due to the coil size... email me, though, for re-coning it as a 10, 12, 15, or 18.
  18. Drove down and dropped off the stickers in person so I didn't have to wait for them to get them tomorrow by shipping -- so I saw the SA-10s and 12s (they exist) -- but I cannot get them until they apply the stickers. Hopefully I can still get them Friday but if not early next week. --- Jimmy, Yep... didn't pay attention before but the boxes have never had that printed - they just now noticed it this time, though... so I am advising my build house to print that on them from now on. That is an actual rule -- country of origin must be printed on it somewhere.
  19. Alright - update... the boxes didn't have "Made in China" on them so they are holding them until they get labels. Seeing how quickly I can get that done. Will update when information available.
