Not primarily -- but they will have some features normally found in SQ subs. I expect to have my motors in stock in 6-8 weeks tops... I expect to sell out of the first batch QUICK to several LARGE builds. The Z v.2 is actually replacing the Nightshade as our 1500-watt driver. Nightshade v.2 will be out mid next year and will be based on many design aspects of the "Monster" prototype, rated 2000 watts (DO NOT ASK ME ETA). A future, new, 1000-watt driver will be our "SQ" sub... will start prototyping that mid next year (DO NOT ASK ME ETA).

1000-watts RMS They are very efficient subs -- the suspension is not overly tight either... so the recommended power will get you very good output.

I discovered this years ago playing around on a test bench I had set up before getting into the industry. I made a little variable resistor board wired in line with the RCA cables -- it would reach a point where it was the loudest and then start decreasing again. I can only imagine due to a more ideal impedance match with the source unit.

1) You don't lose power -- the knob drops some RCA voltage as it has a resistance. Therefore you must adjust the gain up slightly to compensate and power will again be identical. 2) The knob reduces gain from the position it is set at the amplifier -- that is it. It is a variable resistor and can only cut signal. 3) It is NOT A BASS BOOST KNOB. 4) We have been reducing the amount of bass boost on the amps... most now feature a 6 dB bass boost vs. the 18 dB they used to have. Occasionally a boost is useful with ridiculously low output voltage head units where even maxing out the gain won't get you any output.

Most customers shopping for an amp at this power level are more concerned about $ to watt and less about crossover flexibility. So we are closing out the 50.4 and will be developing a less expensive model to replace it without as much crossover flexibility to offer more watts per dollar. Make no mistake... the 50.4 is deceptively powerful as it produces over 60 watts per channel in reality.

It's done a 160 on a burp so far as the best score @ 34 Hz. The doors are permanently bent now from play - so they need to be fixed before it gains more.
