  1. Prototype is here Motor force measure 40% higher than E8 (more SPL)... Qts came out lower than I was anticipating so it would not be as good of a sealed driver as the E8. X8 F3 Sealed = 66 Hz E8 F3 Sealed = 51 Hz Testing will be forth coming... most to come once I get home from vacation.
  2. I will be leaving on the 25th and coming back on the 30th. I will answer some e-mails while I am gone -- but most likely not all of them, it is supposed to be a vacation after all. Brandon will be at the shop Monday - Wednesday while I am not so he will handle as much as possible without me being here.
  3. Indeed - CA can work quite well in many cases - but I have found it doesn't hold very well when sticking the poly cap to the poly stiffening disc, though. Also - the epoxy looks very smooth and nice around the cap where CA glue tends to get rough and bubbly around there
  4. UP - be sure to check out the incredible savings on the SAZ-3000D Refurbished amps
  5. $160 Sony Xplod from Best Buy -- lowest one with a USB plug. Works great for me No signal processors or line drivers.
  6. I've done various testing on the 1500s, 3000s, 3500s, and 4500s on 16v if you look around. Since I no longer have a 16v system in the Jeep it won't be possible for me to do a test just like this one, though. The 1000 and 1200 won't like 16v much.
  7. The 4500D prototypes are installed in Brandon's vehicle at the moment.
  8. ... because I blew the fuses I didn't want to keep testing at that level

  10. Seems people have ALOT of problems putting caps on their re-cones so this is how it is done : Buy two of these containers of Loctite FIVE MINUTE epoxy w/ mixing tubes at Lowes (DO NOT USE ONE MINUTE): ---------- First Step : http://www.sundownaudio.com/misc/how-to/Ni...ap/CIMG2514.MOV Put epoxy around the edges of the disc as shown - make sure to get a good bit in the little holes so it is filled in. ---------- Second Step: Wait about 5 minutes for the first step to dry. http://www.sundownaudio.com/misc/how-to/Ni...ap/CIMG2515.MOV CAREFULLY make a bead around the dust cap to fill in the gap area. You will see Brandon traces back a bit at the end - this is because the epoxy keeps dripping out a bit and we don't want it on the cone. Don't put too much or it will run over onto the cap!

  15. Thanks and no problem So far that box had done a 154.7 for me with the SA-12s... with just two 1500Ds it'll do 153.0 @ 47 Hz!
  16. I am going to go through and drop the SAZ-1000D, SAE-1200D, SAZ-1500D, SAZ-2000D, SAZ-3000D, and SAZ-3500D in the Jeep and do a power clamp test so we have a rough and UNIFORM comparison between the amps in the same setup. All applications are different and I could have probably squeezed more out of an amp here or there... but for the sake of this test I just set the gain knobs to physically 1/2 way up. Just a rough guide to show what the amps can do! I may go back one day and do an SPL comparison as well -- as we have seen up to 1 dB increase from the 3000D to the 3500D even though the power test doesn't seem to indicate as much. With the SPL portion I would sit down and tweak knobs until I got maximum SPL per amp. I tested amps from smallest to largest (for the most part except 1200D was tested last) -- so the batteries did not have a complete full charge by the time I got to the big amps, just a few minutes of alternator charge time... that just means the bigger amps will produce more than posted if I had a complete charge. This was mentioned in my initial post so I thought I would post it here as well.
  17. I hear ya! I think I am done for now on testing... so I can go ahead and make the sticky and you can see it over here
