  1. The SAE-1200D knob is not compatible with our other amps.
  2. Indeed - the SA is a mean sub for sure !
  3. Excursion is pretty well max right now. Need another design for more power / SPL.
  4. YES! Hit my goal Went up one more click on sub control on the HU... this is probably all they have excursion wise. Have plans to try different boxes at some point as well.
  5. Setup with four 1500s (very messy... 10 lbs of stuff in a 5 lb bag, LoL) -- two amps under rack and two on top. If the four amps end up staying I will order some matching wire and get it looking a bit nicer... wired it up with scrap wire to see if it would work well or not.
  6. 4500s near the beginning of May and 3500s near the end of May.
  7. "Outlaw" in the kick with door open -- still at 57 Hz same frequency as dash :
  8. Out of the loop Elvis ! These are the Z v.2 model.
  9. Once SA-10s are in stock I will have them.
  10. So Derrick came up today and constructed a box for me for my four SA-8s... still two 1500Ds on one Stinger SPP-1500D and one Stinger SPV-70 battery on Powermaster Charger (car off). We built the box from scrap 5-layer pine plywood for testing... we plan to use birch ply for another version at a later date. Results here :
  11. Woofers are done - ready to go on a pallet. They have custom dust caps for the customer (no, we don't normally do this):
  12. Going to try to be there if possible !
  13. Hehe - indeed May be a CRX but they are still 8s! Actually also did a 150.0 with this box in my Jeep on a bit more power @ 53 Hz.
  14. x2 - yes, totally stock. Just glued the spiders back down after I burped them wide open @ the wrong tuning *laughs*
  15. Measured with 2 Spiders "stock" suspension. Short break-in period - with extended break-in FS and Qts drop along with some other changes to TS specs. RE variance by size is within tolerance of the Woofer Tester Device, temperature, etc. Specs are similar when using NS or Z cones... NS cones are heavier but not a huge change in specs, lower FS primarily. 4/27/10 : Posting today... will be filling in as I get time to break-in and measure all configurations. Until then the D1 and D2 specs are very similar. ---------- 10" D2: RE: 3.88 ohms Fs: 51.69 Hz Qes: 0.474 Qms: 7.04 Qts: 0.444 Le: 2.53 mH Vas: 7.31 L BL: 24.01 NA Cms: 43.77 um/N Mms: 216.53 g Sens: 85.12 dB 1w/1m ---------- 10" D1: RE: Fs: Qes: Qms: Qts: Le: Vas: BL: Cms: Mms: Sens: ---------- 12" D2: RE: 3.72 ohms Fs: 37.54 Hz Qes: 0.409 Qms: 6.82 Qts: 0.386 Le: 2.8 mH Vas: 23.95 L BL: 24.07 NA Cms: 66.43 uM/N Mms: 270.43 g Sens: 86.74 dB 1w/1m ---------- 12" D1: RE: Fs: Qes: Qms: Qts: Le: Vas: BL: Cms: Mms: Sens: ---------- 15" D2: RE: 3.8 ohms Fs: 36.83 Hz Qes: 0.376 Qms: 3.8558 Qts: 0.342 Le: 2.956 mH Vas: 60.77 L BL: 25.28 NA Cms: 67.02 uM/N Mms: 270 grams Sens: 90.91 dB 1w/1m ---------- 15" D1: RE: Fs: Qes: Qms: Qts: Le: Vas: BL: Cms: Mms: Sens: ---------- 18" D2: RE: 3.69 ohms Fs: 30.21 Hz Qes: 0.477 Qms: 7.65 Qts: 0.44 Le: 2.62 mH Vas: 126.61 L BL: 24.21 NA Cms: 69.35 uM/N Mms: 400 grams Sens: 90.47 dB 1w/1m ---------- 18" D1: RE: Fs: Qes: Qms: Qts: Le: Vas: BL: Cms: Mms: Sens:
  16. Once I got the tuning correct they are not stressed at all during the burp. I did the score about 25 times... between 150.2 - 150.5 anyway. My first attempt at the port caused the spiders to pop off the basket... turns out I was tuned in the 40s. Glued them back down and at the new tuning they do not exhibit any signs of stress.
  17. I haven't talked to Terry yet -- but I do plan to fully dampen the car like he did.
  18. I bought it on caraudio.com -- see link at bottom of my post
  19. Put the two SA-8 box in the CRX modified with an 8" aero-port... finally got tuning settled in to 57 Hz as the loudest. Powered by two SAZ-1500Ds... with one Stinger SPP1500D and one Stinger SPV-70. On Powermaster charger for testing. Interior of car is currently gutted to prepare for sound dampening. Here are the results : Score is dB Drag style on the dash legal and sealed up. Little FYI... bought the ports here : http://caraudio.com/forum/car-audio-classifieds/471147-8x20-flared-ports-new-big-raduis.html
  20. I just finished some of these... so I'll measure them later.
  21. It climbed to 152.4 with two 1500s on an NS v.1 1500s @ 0.25 each
  22. If you have passive crossovers in the system then the passive is not adequately protecting the tweeter. You can go active and cross them at 5000 Hz and 24 dB... should never blow them then unless they are just a horrible tweeter.
