Ok, i was just tryin to figure out cause i wanna do a box, but i wanna make it easy to change out the subs in the future as an upgrade. I didn't know if i should use regular drywall screws (which i think would strip the wood), or some kind of insert with a thread, or what... if you find out what he uses let me know, but thanks :^ i love the vids by the way keep them comin!

your gonna make us wait huh?? thats alright, i knew you had somethin up your sleeve... i have no idea but what your gonna do, but if you do a recone, you should make a really detailed tutorial/sticky, not only for retards like me to know, but just another reason for people to come check out this sweet site.. anyway i can't wait to see whats next with the tahoe, and civic, and that 15kw monster amp, damn dude you need to grow like an extra 5 pairs of arms

Hey meade, how are you going to wire your subs to .7??? I know you said that your subs are dual .7's, so wiring them in parallel would leave you at .35 each, which from what i understand blew one of your 4k's, and if you do series, you'll be at 1.4 which you are at now. How do you go about wiring each to .7ohm???

Lets say i wanted a 500amp anl fuse... Is it possible to stack (2) 250amp anl fuses on top of eachother in the same fuse holder to equal 500amps??? does that even work?? :-[

3 Chrome 300+ amp Iraggi Alts.....
dmz2711 replied to meade916's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
hey meade, i have another question about your alt setup...when you wire the alts, whether it be 2 like you have now, or the 3 that you will possibly do... do you just parallel the power wire from one alt to the other and then to the battery, or do you send an individual power wire from one alt to the engine battery, and then one power wire from the second alt to the rear batts, etc... :-[ -
MEADE PLEASE LOOK

i am pretty sure they are called either self-tapping threaded inserts, or knife-thread inserts... they make different ones for plastics, metals, wood, etc... :^ -
well, you have to figure out your port measurments first. Like ernesto knows that he wants (2) 6" diameter ports, and he needs them to be 14.12" long... A = pi x r^2 the radius of a 6" diameter is 3" (simply 6/2 = 3) A = 3.14 x 3^2 = 28.26 now i'm pretty sure you take 28.26 x 14.12 (length of the port) = 399.0312 399.0312/1728 = .231 ft^3 which is the displacement of each port .231 x 2 (2 ports in each chamber) = .462 ft^3 total displacement of both ports in each chamber... once again, i am pretty sure thats how its done, hopefully someone can clarify this
-
alright cool, here it is w/ sub displacement, goodluck man better do a worklog with a ton of pics :^ 48 - 2.25 = 45" 18 - 1.5 = 16.5" 34 - 1.5 = 32.5" 45 x 16.5 x 32.5 = 24131.25 24131.25/1728 = 13.965 ft^3 13.965/2 (chambers) = 6.9824 ft^3 so 6.9824 - .26 (sub displacement)= 6.7224 ft^3 (2) 6" ports in each chamber @ 35hz = 14.12"
-
I am really not an "expert" at this, so i might be wrong, hopefully someone can clarify this if i am but... the only thing that doesn't look right to me is that you did not account for the center divider, that seperates the two chambers of the box.. the 48" in width, should have had .75 + .75 +.75 = 2.25" subtracted from it. That accounts for the two ends(.75" each) and the center wall .75".. here are my calculations... 48 - 2.25 = 45" 18 - 1.5 = 16.5" 34 - 1.5 = 32.5" 45 x 16.5 x 32.5 = 24131.25 24131.25/1728 = 13.965 ft^3 13.965/2 (chambers) = 6.9824 ft^3 (2) 6" ports in each chamber @ 35hz = 13.43" the only thing that i did not account for is speaker displacement, since i have no idea what it is... :^

Rockford Fosgate 360.2 !!! (pics)
dmz2711 replied to meade916's topic in Just Meade....my projects - Tons of SMD Builds here!
i don't get it, i was lookin at the 360.2 and there was only one output for sub and one output for center. would you use a y(2 into 1) connector to hook up the sub??? -
tommy has done a 58.5 a few times and a little higher in bass boxing ......steve the tahoe looks sick .....i know he has hit a 158 a few times. i'm not hatin on tommy at all, i think he is sick as sh*t, and i also look up to him in the car audio world. I was just sayin when i saw him in person, i think he was between a 154 - 156. either way, meade's hoe is lookin crazy, and i can't wait to see what numbers he puts up when he hooks up the other 2 amps :^
-
Those are some ridiculous numbers!!! :oRemember the thread on ROE, the one that polls who is louder, you or Tommy Mckinnie??? You are right there with him. I saw his truck in person and it was hitting a 154 - 156 in bass race, if you could hit a 158 and maintain that, you could take it at world finals (if you are goin). Not to mention you are only using 2 of 4 T4000's. Damn, i can't imagine sitting in that thing!!! Great work man, you really are inspiring, like the car audio role model i never had. It brings tears to my eyes :'(naw, but seriously great work, keep it up! ;D
