I bet the damage you did was washed off in an hour... They charged me Several hundred for some sharpie on a ticket machine. I saw some workers take some goof-off to the machine...not the same machine but just in general.. If you're gonna do something. make sure it can't be just painted/washed off....make it worth the money/effort...just sayin..

the guys at the car audio shop that I bought the sub and amp from tell me the box does not matter. I've never built a box before, so I want to pay someone to make one quality (and I did, found a guy that has been making cabinets or something for 20 years and owns his own shop) My problem is that the guy wants $100 and there is no way for me to be sure it's going to sound better. What if it sounds worse? I measured the current $50 box and it's: (width x height x depth) W:1'7" H:1'2" D:1'5" The box dimensions needed for my sub are W:2'5" H:1'2" D:1'0.625" How hard is it to do it myself? Lowest price you would pay someone to do it? Here is a pic of what needs to be done. Uploaded with ImageShack.us

I have a sony xm-4045. 2 channels are LPF, 2 are HPF. had it hooked up to my dash speakers. it was too much power for them (40w) Hooked them up to my door speakers - still too much power (60w) This is kind of confusing to me but ... Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us

The last 2 links are the same and those subs are only 100 more watts than this. How would 100w make a difference? Maybe I don't have my shit hooked up right? I think I have the sub connected to the rear out RCA's so that I can use the fader to turn the subs down (head unit has no sub control) Gonna brake open the console right now and see if they work better on the SUB out... also I have this equalizer - would it help? sony xec-500 Uploaded with ImageShack.us If so, also wondering if they make a dash kit for this for my car (1996 gmc jimmy) there seems to be enough room for it.

I figured that because it was a car audio specialty shop that they would know more about the stuff... So what should I do? At the end, they told me my head unit was the problem because it didn't have a sub control or something... They said to come back tomorrow to get a new head unit (they were closing)

I am completely new so subs/amps/boxes. I would like to know if I should demand my money back/better equipment or be happy with my purchase. It sounds OK but for $300 I had the exact same sound from frys electronics with a cheap crunch amp ($100) and the polk audio db1212 ($200 - 360w RMS) Here are some pictures. The sub is a 12w3v3-4 ($250) Amp is rockford fosgate punch P500-2 ($300) Box was custom made I think ($50) Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us
