  1. Until now, the loudest he had heard is a single 12 doing 136. 4 15s on 9-10k watts was a change for him. Shoutout to NoPh33rRaCiNg since it's his car You couldn't see it in the video - but he was grabbing the door handle in the white-knuckle style
  2. My friend's trunk looks like that. He just has sub back port back and its fine. And like Gally said: Anything you can do to let the bass into the cabin area will help
  3. Build it and find out - it's not a huge box where it would be wasting tons of wood if you didn't like it
  4. Dude, you ARE mini-me haha (we even live in the same state) I have a mofo 15 in the ~26 hz box 29 should let you play almost anything on the planet
  5. Lol dude. Maybe I can convince you otherwise since I made that mistake I made a box tuned almost exactly to that. (26.1hz) - it hits 20 hz easy - but is a bit lacking on higher notes (55+) My other box tuned to 30 hits all the way down to 24 hz and plays anything I put through it I would tune between 29-31 and you will hit it just fine. What sub is this? This being said, you can still tune to whatever you want
  6. yea, but I don't have the app thing on my computer where you can save a screen so I'll have to use a camera. it'll be crossed over at 80hz. You will be fine. Although there will be a bit more group delay with a longer port and it will be less efficient than a shorter one
  7. Could you give me the dimensions of what you are trying to do? Yes, there is a problem - but it may not be depending on your application A port that long starts to act like a t-line (in this case, ~110-120hz) Depending on where you have it crossed over at - this may or may not be a problem
  8. Here are the pics from the album for those who cant be bothered to click on the link haha
  9. That looks like the work of a professional box builder. Good Job!
  10. Sub bottomed out and I don't have the skill or tools to re-cone it. Asking price is $60 $50 + Shipping (Will be shipped in original box) Perfect for someone who wants a little project or a dirt cheap sub. I ran 900 watts through it and it took it all day - only bottomed out because a friend was playing with it and started pushing 1500w in a box that wasn't designed for that power.
  11. Welll - I ditched my Power Acoustik and got a man's sub - Level 5 15 w/ 2 extra spiders and reinforced surround Just sharing my excitement with you guys! :yahoo:
  12. Let me know what you think of this. 6"x15.5" section of PVC pipe glued into some MDF to hold it - 1 flush end Put an end cap on the open end, then velcro the end with the MDF and a spot in my box to hold it. To take reduce the box size to 3.5 cubic feet and bring the tuning to 30hz - put the pipe in. To bring it back to 4.5 cubes and 26 hz tuning - remove pipe Thoughts?
  13. Price on a Level 5 15, d1.4 coils, 2 extra medium spiders, reinforced surround Zip: 98052
  14. I have ones in there already =( It would be kind of a pain in the behind / waste of fiberglass resin depending on how I do it Unless you know an easy way - which I am always open for
  15. I have a 4.5 cubic foot box and I want to 'eat up' about a cubic foot of box volume to make it smaller / raise the tuning since I am swapping in a different sub and running more power to it. I was thinking a measured amount of expanding foam and fiberglass over the top of that? Ideas? Making a different box isn't really an option for me Here are pics of said box
  16. I heard that DC might be coming out with some new XLs and Levels 5s with a bigger 4 inch coil. Can anyone(rusty) confirm this? I think I might hold off on getting a 15" xl and wait for the good stuff ^^ False information you have been fed
  17. The amp can do 5000 watts 4 ohms. It's a Crown XLS 5000 but I won't be running it full tilt
  18. Long story short: my PA mofo 15 bit the dust. I am in the market for a new 15 that can handle the power coming from a 2400 watt amp. - The lowest impedance I could go is 4 ohms - I could top out the Mofo, so something with more excursion would be preferred - It will be in a ported box - I'm not really on a budget, but lowest price possible is preferred
