  1. I have the same unit but just use a flash drive with a ton of music on it. I was disappointed it doesn't have an aux/in. That would make things easier. I sometimes hooked up my droid to my old unit to play pandora. Doesn't work that way with this unit. Although it does with iphones. Check sony's website on the h/u, they have a compatibilty list on there. More than likely that it is. I have contacted them via email on the site with some questions and they have responded fairly quickly. So you could just ask them what you are trying to do, if it can be done with this unit and what you need.
  2. what are the rms ratings of the speakers?
  3. The R750 does 750W at 1 ohm also. Just depends on what brand and price he's looking for.
  4. If you want to match brands this one might do. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_34763_Rockford-Fosgate-R750-1D.html
  5. Not quite auto carpet but joann fabrics has big variety. they also have vinyl.
  6. I wonder if warranty/insurance would cover that claim?
  7. Ok. So maybe running your cell phone in the wash machine is possible though unlikely. I had someone at work today tell me she was sleep walking last night and microwaved her cell phone. True story..too funny not to share.
  8. I was more lookin for someone to say they noticed a difference running on 2.5 or 3k rather than the 2k.
  9. 2k true. Just wondering with all of the variables knowing the subs won't see close to what is coming from the amp what kind of rating I should be lookin at.
  10. Anyone know what kinda power lvl 4's like. Lookin at 2 15's in a mid size suv daily driver. Probably tune low and make it shake.
  11. Thanks. I wasn't far off but as I figured I should go a little bigger.
  12. Yeah he has the subs but has always wanted to build a ported box. He has always had sealed. Nice box though. Going in a trunk so I think subs/port back will be ideal. What are the dimensions and port area?
  13. Total port area will be around 50 sq in.
  14. No, per cu ft which is in the standard 12-16 sq in per cu ft range but some same more is better so should I shoot for 15 or 16. JL's slot area on their spec box is 17.1875 sq in.
  15. It's not rocket surgery guys....anyone?
  16. Also don't know the max. dimensions at this time but think the max height might be only 14 so I would have to make adjustments for that as well. Looking for a confirmation on net space and what port area.
  17. Helping a buddy with some box ideas. He has always been a SQ guy and now just wants it louder...so ported. He has 2 JL 12W3 single 4 ohm running on a JL 500.1 in a Jaguar xtype. The res. freq. is unknown. This will be a daily driver box. Wondering if JL recommended spec box is actually the best box to build. They suggest 1.75 cu. ft. per sub tuned to 30 and gives a F3 of 35. Here is the t/s Here is a couple of torres plans I came up with for slotted port tuned to 35. This would be subs/port back and I would just mirror it for the other sub so they would be in separate chambers. Haven't seen hardly anybody on here with JL's if anybody has any experience with them. Any adjustments or other suggstions would be appreciated. Tuning, sub/port configuration, aero ports, ect. Thanks.
  18. Good to know. So what your saying is once I find the peak freq the loudest song may not be at that freq.
  19. Yeah I couldn't believe it either but he said he did get a 149 in the shop but couldn't remember what song. This was the second box they built for him because the first one he blew apart.
  20. Heck I would have gotten 3rd in street c. The loudest was 151.5 in a mountaineer. Had 2 15 mojo with 4000w amp and 3 yellow tops. It was a 4th order I believe. 2 18 fi btl on a saz3500 did 146.8 Again this is all on music
  21. One kid did 137.7 with one 10 inch JL W6 in a car with back seats down. Don't remember the power but thought that was impressive.
