  1. LOL... what is line out.. The 30pin connector at the bottom? My HU came with a cable for it... but I dont think it likes the iPhone 4. I havn't tried it in quite some time. But my H/U has like a "mini-USB" port, and it came with a "mini-USB" to female USB cable. That I can plug my iPhone charger to. But I dont think it works. Once again, aint tested it in quite some time.
  2. maybe they built the iPhone 4 a little better I was thinking it'd be really easy to test if anybody had a dd-1 with the 3.5mm to RCA cable. I know there is a volume limiter on the iPhone though, so you set it to volume limit at like 9/10 and then when you turn the volume up, itll show that its turning all the way up, but it only turns to 9 out of 10. ( or whatever the limit is, i never counted those tiny ass dots LOL )
  3. Ok, so I been searching through the forums for an hour or two, to come up with no answer. My question is, does anybody know if the iPhone 4, when using the 3.5mm headphone jack, at full volume does it distort or send clipped signal? I wish I had the DD-1 , I would just hook up a 3.5mm to RCA cable and test for distortion with the DD-1 and a test tone on my iPhone. But I am wondering if it is safe to turn the iPhone all the way up if you will get distortion from the headphone out port. Anybody test it? Or know anybody who got a presale DD-1 who would wanna test it?
  4. Who are you? The thread police? If he has question on this particular car he has every right to ask some basic questions on it. There have been many a star that have had systems put into sports cars over the years so why is what he is doing that is so wrong? I would get a couple of the small xs power batteries to help distribute the load over a wider area, what you'll want to do is get enough capacity in a battery bank as possible to help support the system till you can find or have an alt made to take over charging of the system. well ive posted like 4 threads in the last day sooo sue me... and this jagaloon commented on the one about me being a pouty bitch. all the other ones were car audio questions. im gathering info so i can start on his car. and with my dads beloved car im not just gonna go into it guns a blazin cuz if i fuck something up he'll fuck me up. Three things I like about this comment "jagaloon" "gunz a blazin" and "hell fuck me up" LOL.
  5. Anything can be done with a piece of steel and the right tools my friend. But labor on that would be through the roof. But yeah I forgot about the engine being in the back, its not every day I drive my Lambo So wait, your systems going in the FRONT of the car? God damn exotic cars are backwards. LMAO. I dont see a need for an upgraded alternator, hit up Nathan from XS power. His email is [email protected] ( dont quote me on that look it up yourself cuz im not 110% sure thats it) or just find him on the forum and he will tell you the best battery for the amount of power youll be needing. And 1/0 isnt that expensive either...you might spend like 50$ on it .. Usually you can find it for around 2.50 a foot. Or look in the For Sale section and you might be able to find it a bit cheaper. Keep in mind youll also need fusing and such. Big 3 for sure, an XS batt to cover the amps/wattage you'll be drawing and you should be more than fine.
  6. Or you could get the one that I have ( and a few other people around here I think C-Fizzy has one ) its the PAC-LC1 http://www.amazon.com/PAC-Remote-Amplifier-Level-Controller/dp/B0002J226O It plugs into your RCAs and controls the input voltage to your amp. Max it out when you set your gains. I prefer this over any bass knob, mainly because it is useful with ANY amp, and doesn't adjust the gain, just chages input voltage, in turn, setting up your amp with this maxed out, you have no chance of clipping or distortion. Thats my $.02
  7. Hm well yeah rebuilding the alt is not a good option for any car, but yeah I have no idea how the Porsche Alts work. I'd say big 3 and biggest XS battery that you can fit under the hood and you should be fine.
  8. Since its going in the center console I figure you would want as small box as possible, so I changed the depth 1" shorter, changed the displacement to .12 and modified the port length. Maybe you will like this one better Alright getting off for the night, its late, PM me if u need anything changed. Or I am sure someone else on the forum will take care of it for ya.
  9. Hows this? I wasnt sure what your subs displacement was..so I put .25 which is probably pretty big... but if u let me know the sub displacement I might be able to shrink the box a bit. Depending on how big it is... or you can just use some bracing in the corners or something to take up that extra space. EDIT: Also this one that gives you a bit more net volume if you want as close to 1.5cf
  10. This could be tricky. What kind of sub is it? I am going to look up its displacement. With the figures 14x15x20 I am getting a sealed net volume of 1.81cf I am going to add in sub displacement, I dont think youll need any bracing for such a small box, but the port I have a feeling is going to take up a tad more than .3cf Edit: Got it. Give me a few mins to tweak it and ill upload it for ya
  11. haha woops. that shit helps Width:14 Height:15 length:20 and the sub can be anywhere but up, theres going to be an armrest on top thanks man Uhhh I spoke too soon D: My $1200 PC is not showing any display right now and will not post. D; Maybe someone else can help, but if I fix it before you get a reply I will do it D: sorry bro. Dont know why the computer wants to be a pain in the ass right now. I am on my Mac or id do it on this. its cool man thanks for tryin, hopefully that .NET works haha i see your from orlando, you go to any shows? EDIT: I got it working by cutting the power off at the breaker then resetting it. For some reason it said OverClocking failed. D: Guess I pushed the 3.8ghz quad core too far. Oh well. But its booting now and Ill have a pic for you in a bite. As for the shows, nahhh never had a car for it. But check out my build log! I am working on it now. Oh and I am not from Orlando, I am from a smallll little town called Sorrento, which is in Lake County, the same county I believe Ocala is in!

  13. max dimensions? Do you want it as square as possible? Up firing? Port up? Little more info and you'll be hooked up in T-15 minutes. ( I always wanted to write that down instead of say it )
  14. Why add all that weight to a "sports car" ? Mids and highs are understandable, but a full system? why add the weight of a an extra full size person into the equation? Did your dad get a porsche to look nice, or did he get it to be able to spin the tires in 3rd gear? Thats just me. I wouldn't weigh down my lamborghini murcielago...well that is if I had one. But anyways, I did a little eBay searching and couldn't find anything except direct OEM replacements. Maybe shoot a call to MechMan or DC i am sure they can make you like a bracket or something to "make-one-fit" . Worth a call. I know its not the BEST thing to do, but you could always have someone rebuild your alternator. But looking on ebay the OEM replacements are like $300 or more... some I saw were $700. So rebuilding one and having it fail would be a bitch. I can only imagine a High Output one would be through the roof pricing.
  15. Damn.....im still laughing at this one. That car went pretty cheap though.
  16. Do you have a picture of the box design? Would help us a bit more. But bracing can never have TOO much. If you say volume after displacement is 3.72 what are you trying to get it down to after bracing? Oh yeah, and I read 45ing the corners isnt always the smartest idea. Especially doing all of them. Not exactly sure why, but I am sure someone will chime in on that one.
  17. Just out of curiosity, I know I have almost every shop tool except the REAL expensive ones, but why not just have your local hardware store cut it to size? I think its only like between $.50 and $1 a cut. I mean...you said you'd only be making 2 boxes with it then putting it on a shelf, so $20 to the cutting or 250 to the saw used twice?
  18. I would say Voltage Regulator x2 no matter if its internal or external... Lol.. are you sure its charging, or is your batt just resting at 12.8?
  19. I wouldn't call $225-$260 a top of the line expensive amp. But I am going to look around on the For Sale thread to see if I see anything.
  20. No but I am getting cut a decent deal on one. For about 75 more so not too big if a deal...
  21. Was that to me? LOL. I never seen it before. But its a good idea instead of drilling a hole and sealing it w/ liquid nail or silicone...or using those terminal cups
  22. Oh shit, just got a BRILLIANT idea from that picture! The way you drilled threaded bolts through the box and just put the speaker wire to those....Thats a great idea. No air would escape there! Might have to do that for my next box HMM.
  23. Its gona RAPE both your amp and battery...Amps gonna get hot and not agree with your decision...could burn up that amp. And that d3100 is gonna drop voltage pretty low...probably wouldnt be good for the batt. And with the amp losing the voltage from the batt...well. you see where I am going w/ this.. probably not the best idea man. I wouldnt burp it at .25ohm.. period.
  24. Why replace shit w/ shit? Lol... I am talking to a Sundown rep now though...might drop the extra stack on a quality sundown amp.
