  1. I tapped into the power wire for my stereo also and it worked just fine.
  2. I could build it for you where are you located?
  3. You should make a vid when your done of just your mids and tweets from a block or two away so we can see how loud it is, what amps are you gonna use to power them?
  4. In a way it is but if you decide to upgrade you will be buying another amp then or you could just buy an amp with a higher RMS now, it is really your call though haha.
  5. Nice set up man sounds pretty good. If you get a custom box built or build one yourself I think it will definitely make them a lot louder.
  6. Well the Hifonics amp would be a good choice in case you decide to upgrade but the Power Acoustik is just really cheap power, I won't say they are the greatest amps but my $160 amp has pushed my 15's into the 140's so I can't complain.
  7. That first amp should work fine but the second will be underpowering your subs.
  8. Thanks, yah I agree something about the blue just looks good, plus for $30 and a 3 min install, can't beat it.
  9. I'll second that^ I have heard some really really loud DC set ups.
  10. Haha fair enough.. Almost slipped on my way out to the car since it snowed about 3 inches today haha, and my voltage sits at around 10.5-10.9 when my car is off, I know it is a little low that is why we have tax returns for new alt and additional battery haha.
  11. I bought it today and Sean and I from Sound Solutionz installed it in about 3 minutes haha. Very cool little display though, flush mounted it in my console once i got home.
  12. Another cheaper option is this: Power Acoustik 1800D Runs for about $133 shipped brand new.
  13. A friend of mine actually had two of these in his taurus and he hit 136-137 it was very surprising for how inexpensive they are. Go with this amp: Hifonics It is rated at 1000 RMS @ 1 Ohm but if you wire your subs to a 2 ohm load you will be fine, It runs for $200 shipped brand new.
  14. Definitely get it my friend has the same one and you can still get a remote start I was just at Sound Solutionz and they were installing a remote start on a manual so that is not out of the question. But overall that is a very good alarm.
  15. I am guessing it is a company that makes like aftermarket suspensions and spiders for subs to give them more excursion. Could be wrong, looks crazy though.
  16. Not bad man I like it and there a bunch of different notes in that song ranging from probably the 50's to the 30's, sounds good though.
  17. Cool there are only three wires right? Where do they run to?
  18. Ordering one today. How easy is it to install?
  19. I have actually had a conversation with Rusty about MT's versus LVL 4's and in the end your going to need a lot more power for the MTs and the MTs will put up a number around 2 DBs higher. This conversation was about 18s thought not 15s. But I would choose the LVL 4s.
  20. I believe were going to be painting it black. Yah we had it hooked up to the amp it hit really hard we were surprised, it was also in a much bigger box sitting on the backseat since it didn't fit in the trunk but still haha.
  21. Thank you, I didn't do a very good job carpeting my box so we took our time on this one and it came out perfect.
  22. This is my second build, the last one was for my 2 15's. This box is for one 15" Fi Q, it is going into my friends 99 Taurus. It is a really low trunk so the box couldn't be to tall or deep because it wouldn't be able to fit. It is around 3 cubes after port. Took about two days to complete, and it was his birthday present haha. My friend is at work right now so we haven't got a chance to see how it sounds but I hope it sounds good he only has a tiny Coustic Class D 400 RMS amp right now so we will see what happens haha.
  23. Nice man that should actually sound pretty good, I had two 12" 4500s in my explorer a little over a year ago and you can't beat their bass to price ratio haha. Keep us filled in. Where did you buy the MTX's from and what did you pay? Because a pair on eBay shipped is about $93, so I hope you got a good deal.
