I have both Sundown (for my house) and skar (for my car). I noticed that sundown was built a little beefier and heavier than Skar, but Skar impressed me in that fact that they were almost as loud as sundown. They aren't defective if he ran them full pass, or overpowered them. call them "defective" and get a replacement from focal, although that wouldn't be too honest

that doesn't sound good at all man, call focal and get your stuff fixed. I would expect that focal wants to keep it name untainted and will call it defective and will replace it.

There is a voltage coming off the wire so that doesn't seem necessary. I also just installed an illuminated toggle switch and that works, so I know now that there is power through the remote.

I talked to the local guys at the car audio store and they suggested that I come back to them when I get my amp hooked up to the battery under the hood as opposed to the battery in the trunk (not hooked up to anything except the amp. So basically I have power and ground from the trunk battery (12.23volts) and the remote from the HU (11.16volts). I'm hoping that it isn't working because of the voltage difference, but I didn't think that this would be such a problem. I was also suggested to ground the trunk battery to the car...

I did, before I installed the remote wire, it was being used to turn on the amp, but it was ghetto-rigged and hooked up t the battery in the back instead of the HU. Before this instal the remote turned on the bazooka tube just fine.I'll get pics up later of me trying to diagnose the problem :/ Doesn't mean that sometime during the swap it didn't get broken in two, or come loose from somewhere. I seriously doubt the remote out on the HU just quit working. Well I've already tried with a separate wire that I know isn't broken and wired it from the remote to the amp and nothing there. Nothing from the red either... If you don't have power on the red (ACC) wire then your head unit isn't going to cut on. everything on the HU is hooked up the way I had it before, red to red, black to black, yellow to yellow, blue to blue... etc. I know it should work just fine but it isn't. Voltage from HU: 11.16 volts Voltage from battery: 12.23 volts I'm going to stop by the local car audio store and get some hands on help but the only thing that I can think of is that the HU isn't putting out enough voltage for the Kicker amp to turn on

Thanks, I'll give that a try, first I want to check the voltage coming off the remote wire with a multimeter and compare it to that of the battery

If allelse fails, Try hooking the remote wire to another source, find a fuse thats only on when the key is on and run it there, Just wrap the wire around the cold side of the fuse and stick it back in. If It still don't work than you know it's not the HU, The "cold side" being that side that is closer to the accessory?

I'll give that another look and try that because after hooking everything back up it automatically goes into demo mode and thats when I gave it a try. I'm pretty sure it's not on demo mode now but I'm stil not getting anything. Battery was disconnected multiple times, I have a circuit breaker as opposed to a fuse

I made sure that the switch was turned to 12V after it was installed in my car, I'm not so sure what the DC turn on setting is though

So I have this problem and I am very very confused... I rewired my remote and RCA connections the other day after I got my new sub and amp in. All of a sudden the remote from the HU doesn't turn on this new amp. I tried wiring it from the red and blue wire. The amp works when I run the same remote wire from the battery in the trunk straight to the amp. My previous setup I had a 50watt 8in bazooka tube and the remote on that never had any issues, it just worked. WTF is going on with my system, It's like the voltage from the remote on the HU isn't great enough to turn on the amp??? Here are some pics of the amp:

SA-10, that will give you room to upgrade amp and buy another SA-10 in the future. Just think ahead before you make your final choice

you spelled build wrong, aside from that this looks nice. a build log up to the finished product would be cool, but the final result looks good. Have you given any thought to use the upgraded line of hifonics for an amp? vids?
