  1. Are you sure you mean Isobaric? Since you're talking Kickers, maybe you meant Solobaric?
  2. IMO the best way to learn is to jump in and start doing it. If you screw something up, learn from it and don't do it again. For box building, try building a basic sealed square box first. Then do a ported box w/ aeroports & next one with a slot port, etc. Basically start with some easy stuff and work your way up to the harder jobs. Good luck. :^
  3. My daughter spilled an entire cup of McDonald's orange soda in the back of my Yukon. I spent an hour trying to scrub & shampoo w/ Resolve and my steam cleaner, but its stained. Does anyone know of some good cleaner to get it completely out?
  4. I entered a Whitlee contest once. The guy sat in my passenger seat with a mic that looked like a lil kid should be singing into and asked me "where do you want it?" I questioned him and he said I could put it anywhere I want, so I told him to put it on the floorboard. After it was over he asks me "why didn't you let me put it in the back with the subs?" I'm like WTF! Nobody told me I could do that.
  5. The first Punch Z 12 I ever bought ended up in a 1.5cu ft sealed box powered by a RF Power 800a2 (birthsheet read 1096x1@4ohm). It took the beating surprisingly well until I played a 40hz test tone and melted the coil.
  6. Ain't it? It looks like it ate the other two for lunch.
  7. RF Punch HX2 Dual 4ohm. I bought that one when they first came out. I believe it was '99. They hit 145db on an old meter powered by a RF Power 800a2. Now I'm running a pair of the newest model HX2s powered by a Hifonics Brutus bx2005d (2000x1@1ohm). It hasn't been metered yet but I'm expecting low 40s and hoping for a solid 145 on a TL mic. IMO they're the best sub for the money ever.
  8. Punch Z 12", Punch HX2 12", Team RF 12" The one on the left is the wimpy one.
  9. The box won't fit in your truck. The next step is to try them out in my smaller 4.5cu. ft. box and see what happens in the higher frequencies.
  10. The best its done so far is 144.4 @ 35hz. Thats a 12cu. ft. box w/ 130sq. in. of port. I feel it should do better at higher frequencies, but I've tuned the box anywhere from 32-54hz and it does better numbers tuned low than it does in the 45-50hz range. Should I try a bigger or smaller box? What about keeping the same box but trying more or less port area? I'm hoping someone with more experience than me can point me in the right direction rather than having to build so many different ports & boxes trying to get it perfect. Also, these are being powered by 4 Hifonics Brutus bx2005d amps and its all in an '01 Excursion. I guess 144.4 @ 35hz isn't too bad for 2 12s in an Excursion huh?
  11. Yeah, that's what I said. I'm hoping someone else can give me a more reasonable recommendation.
  12. Could anyone help me with some box recommendations for a pair of Team RF 12s? I spoke with a RF tech and he said to use 20cu ft w/ 170sq in of port for the pair. Currently I'm running a 12-13cu ft box with 130sq in of port. The ports are interchangeable to adjust the tuning. Thanks for any help.
