    out the blue with my iPod touch hooked up via USB to kenwood KDC-x395 is making all sorts of random popping/crackling sounds, not sure if it's the headunit, ipod, or amp, sound goes away when I play CD's, any idea? all settings are flat on headunit, max volume I turn it up is 33 out of 35, amp gain is set at about 9 o clock, any suggestions?

      It's either the USB port, USB cable, or the iPod. Swap them out with other cords devices and narrow it down.
