  1. alright after everyone telling me not to get alot of crap subwoofers im looking at these two. i want to compete locally(music) so i want the most db's i can get. i prefure low tunning around 32hz because i like the sound for daily driving, but can make changeable ports for when i drag. so my question is which would be louder, two kicker's or the RE Audio's. i would like to keep the box i already have, its like 2.8 cu/ft per sub tuned to around 35hz (for my cadence subs). can and will build a new box if need be. thanks guys
  2. does the power wire have an inline fuse by the battery? couldnt you just remove that...
  3. ahuh u sound kind a bossy dont ya? how bout i take back the box and tell you to build ur own, i would love to see that. bet it wouldnt sound as good
  4. i doubt you will gain hardly anything if not loose db's by doing that. if you did i would have to re-tune the box to account for the lost of internal airspace. to much work to do any good, go buy a damn crx so i can build you a new box!
  5. the voice coil is inside the magnet, im not sure on the mtx but on my cadence sub there is an opening and if you where to "raise", for lack of a better word, the cone and see part of the voice coil. still it would be really hard to see anything. if you dont know what a burnt voice coil smells like go and find an old speakers and blow it up. take a good wiff and there you have voice coil burnage! if you can get it to start on fire or spark it looks really cool lol.
  6. at one time they where priced really good. now they are more of a distributer and prices went up at least 100% on all products. my friend was lucky enough to get two of the tc-1000 before they went up, unlucky for me i didnt have money
  7. on subwoofer tools i was reading that re did not account for area lost for the subwoofer displacement, i think they account for the port displacement. (if they didnt that would be stupid)
  8. go get the boom stick from walmart lol, for like $15 it measures up to 130db. so its good enough for your speakers.... (sucks for bass though =)
