  1. i've seen this before, and what baffles me is, how the fuck do you not know the difference between clutch smell and tire smell?

VERY different smell. You'd know it when you smell it. Tires obviously smell like rubber. Clutch...well, it smells like clutch. Similar to brakes that got too hot and glazed over but still unique. Maybe this guys nose doesnt work or something.

having enough money to buy a Z06 doesn't = a person with common sense.

  2. why are you using a bigger fuse to the truck? Have you increased the load on the trucks electrical? more importantly, why did it blow the fuse. It really does sound like your pulling juice to the starter through that OEM fuse block, Pump the starter wire straight into the battery.

I'm using a bigger fuse b/c I ordered 175 amp fuses but the lady sent me 300 amp fuses so I used them anyways. The original fuse blew when I forgot to take the negative off my batt and took the power wire off my alternator and it grounded on its own casing. Basically my wiring is fine. Everything works great and looks nice and clean. I'm just curious what problems can be caused by using a fuse that is bigger than I'm supposed to. I'm guessing I need to be around 200-250 amp for fuses.

You did say that you replaced the wire on the other side of the fuse to the vehicles fuse relay center with 1/0 right ? If yes you should be good. If no then you are at risk.

Edit. Wait how did the fuse blow? Do you have your alt power connected on the same or opposite side of the fuse as your battery? I'm confused. Diagram/Pic would be nice.

  3. I dont know what vehicle this is going in but generally you only need 1 fuse alt to bat. (some people dont use a fuse on this wire) its such a short run that odds of something going wrong in the middle are slim as long as common sense precautions are used when installing.

The run from front to back only needs one fuse unless you plan to put a second power source in the rear (battery).

    300a front to rear

300a alt to bat (if you want to use a fuse here).

  4. 1st Welcome to forums!!

I think for a first box design this is a good place to start. Consider cutting the 90degree angle on the bend are of the port so that the entire bend is at a 45 (both sides of the port).

How much power will you be running to the sub?

What is your electrical system? alt bat wires?

    What amp?

    What car?

  5. They actually found this back in winter. Said they would go "dig it up" in Spring. That came and went. I think its odd that the people that lay claim to this have a business model in place to take people on tour of the area but dont have a significant plan to find out what, if anything, is actually down there.

I understand the interest in making money but if there is REALLY anything of interest down there you think there would be a more serious effort.

  6. So I went to clear up some vines that were growing on my fence last week. I considered poison ivy so I checked some of the leaves against pics on the internet and it was mostly Virginia Creeper. There was some other stuff in there too but i had on gloves right. So I tore into it...shirtless. I WAS being careful not to actually touch the stuff with skin but it was a fairly large growth in several areas. needless to say there was also a significant amount of posion ivy growing with it. I remember it touching my forearms a little, but like I said, I was being careful. I washed up immediately after I was done and was very carful removeing the gloves, which will be discarded.

Two days later - it started. I woke up and my arms itched like crazy. Sent the wife to the store to get poison ivy "stuff". All I can say is that this stuff reacts in some people, me included, in an awful way. My arms are swollen up as if I had a snake bite, complete with oozing clear stuff out of large blisters. The itching is driving me crazy, this is day 5 from the initial rash and day 7 from actual exposure to the plant.

I went to the Doc 2 days ago and was diagnosed with a severe allergic reaction. He gave me a shot of steroids and 9 days of follow up pills. I think it's helped a lot but its still extremely itchy.

It's all over my arms in a bad way. All over my belly, my chest and a small bit on my legs and even my forehead. Completely my fault but wanted to put this out there for awarenes.

Do Not mess with poison ivy or any other vines until you are sure what you are dealing with. Even then take serious precautions:

    • Wear gloves
    • Wear several layers of clothing, boots
    • Duct tape where clothes come together
    • Wear a resperator if you have access to one or at least a dust mask
    • Wear safety goggles or better yet a face shield.
    • They say to wash your clothes immediately, I say trash them!
    • Dispose of the vines in yard waste bags, double bag for added protection.

NEVER EVER BURN POISON IVY, the toxin becomes airborn and if inhaled can cause death. Obviosuly I didn't do this but I thought about it and did some research first.
