  1. Same to you. . .Look forward to meeting face to face some day!
  2. Never received the email. Just sent you an email. Has my # in it if you want to call. Brian
  3. Nothing wrong with your design above, except the port needs to be longer to get the correct tuning. Changing the port from 10" long to 17" long still leaves you with 8.2 cuft and the correct tuning. I run all of my 18's in 6.5-7 cuft and they sound great. Driver displacement can be estimated at .25 cuft. That will be close enough. If you want to go with Aero ports, (2) 6" is plenty for a 18" Havoc. That is 56 sqin, which will work fine. Aero ports do not require as much port area as a slot port. Brian
  4. x2 And add driver displacement. Right now, you are at ~8.66 cuft net tuned to 36.5 Hz. I would mke that port 17" long giving you ~8.2 cuft net tuned to ~32-33 Hz.
  5. If you can post up the dimensions you have to work with, someone can help you with the design. . .not everyone has a 1968 VW beetle in the back yard they can run out and measure. . .
  6. I had one. . .not for long. Went into emergency only service a lot, hard to text on, overall junk. . . Brian
  7. 10"+ of snow in my front yard in Denton and still snowing!!!!
  8. If you touch the leads together on the DMM, what does it read??
  9. How many times do we have to go over a DMM measures DC resistance, not impedance!!! And box/impedance rise has nothing to do with what you are reading with a DMM!! Measure each coil right at the sub and see what you get.
  10. I am surprised people think they are so high. They are less than I thought they would be. When you compare it to the price of the BTL and look at what you are getting above and beyond a BTL, it seems like a reasonable price to me. Don't forget, shipping is also more expensive on this beast! It goes back to what you need. No one said they were for everyone. You might can get 2X of another sub, but now you also need 2X box space, which not everyone has. I can also tell you from experience that 2X the number of subs sounds like a great idea, but it is not always the best choice. . . Brian
  11. Something to think about: If the port is facing up, a 24.5" port wall will not work with a 7.5" width and a box 29" high. Leaves an opening inside the box only 3.75" wide (needs to be 7.5" wide). If you shorten the port wall up so the opening is 7.5" wide, then the port length including the corner is 29". You can add a 45 in the corner behind the port (make sure the width never drops below 7.5" wide), and this will shorten the length through the corner slightly. Not sure what the driver displacement is for those subs, but assuming ~.1, you are left with 6 ft^3. A ~27-29" port length is ~32 hz tuning. It will definitely work, just wanted to make sure you noticed the port length vs. box height. . . Brian
  12. What woofers? Can you post up all of the dimensions of the box?
  13. You are kidding right? As for th eproblem, as already stated, you can only measure the subs with the amp off (and they really should be disconnected). The DMM will not register ohms correctly with an external voltage applied to the circuit. . .
  14. PM me your zip code and I can get dealer info for you. Your dealer will have pricing.
  15. So the gain is set too high. I hope you are using a true rms dmm and a 50 hz tone. Should be set at ~36 volts. 36^2/.5=2592. Maybe a little higher depending on the actual impedance at 50 hz. When you start dropping the impedance down to where the power does not double as you half the impedance, setting gains with a dmm can be tricky. . .
  16. 50 volts @ 0.5 ohm. Hmmm. . . 50^2/.5 = 5000 If they amp actually does 5000 watts the sub is going to get hot and start smelling after 1 minute. . .Forget how everything is set, blah, blah, blah. If it won't do 5000 watts RMS, then you have the gain set wrong, and you are going to kill the sub and the amp. Giving the sub too much power, and it is getting hot. . .
  17. I showed hidden files and folders, and it still did not work. . .
  18. I just tried it, and there was nothing. I had to buy a $9 program from target called tune tools. It pulled all of the music off of my iPod, and made an image of it so that I did not have to redo the iPod the next time I started itunes. Worth every penny
  19. Sorry, but none of those things have anything to do with the impedance of the subwoofer when placed in the enclosure.
