  1. the DD-1 is a Distortion Detector designed my Steve. it is used for setting gains properly. no more of this "turn the volume up 3/4s of the way, turn the gain up on the amp and then turn it back down so far" very legit device. id love to have one but im kinda... broke It was designed by D'Amore Engineering and Steve. thanks for the correction, i was under the impression he designed it, and they made it. my apologies!

  3. didnt really have time to read through all the posts, but my buddy has a 95 Camaro and had BAD voltage drop without a system. turns out he had an underdrive pulley on. it was so bad with his foot on the brake, he put it in drive and his lights dimmed and his voltage meter showed significant drop. we had fixed that though. as for a system, he now has 2 12" MTX Terminators with the matching amp. hes running KnuKonceptz 4 gauge wiring, and experiences very slight voltage drop, under certain conditions. usually none at all. this system wont flex a windshield, but it is nice and loud. i am very pleased with it. i was never a fan of MTX, but they seem alright.
  4. I worded it the way i did because i saw some that had slot ports (I call them) with no "bend". so i use those two names to set them apart.
  5. Honestly i haven't thought of a box like that. i never thought of an L port, only a slot port or similar. Once i find out how to post images ill post a sketch up model of my design. I really like your idea. thats probably what i'll go with. and thanks for the time and effort to create that.
  6. Here are my plans for the box. IDK if this general shape will sound the best though. kinda worried. but its tuned to 36 Hz in the model above, but i think i wanna drop it to 32. I want it to be loud and have the potential for hairtricks. (If the image above doesnt show i apologize. I'm new to all this forum stuff) edit: I guess it didnt show. Any pointers on this? please and thank you!
  7. OK. So this is my first post and i am not the best at typing so bear with me. But, i have a Power Acoustik FUBAR 15" sub. it is in dire need of a new box and it was in a Ford Escort before i got it. it will probably go in my 03 S10 Blazer (2 Door). but i was trying to decide what to tune it to. i had three frequencies in mind. 29Hz, 32 Hz and 35 Hz. i wanna be able to be heard from a distance (not anything outside the realm of possibility considering my equipment) but i also wanna be able to surprise my girlfriend and do hair tricks. So i had considered a box with sealable inserts for the ports to change the frequency. So my question to you guys is... what is my best tuning frequency or should i do inserts for the Ports? (similar to Steve Meade's in his Tahoe) any input is greatly appreciated. please no "hate" comments or messages. i know Power Acoustik is not that great. but on the contrary its not bad either. and if it helps, ill be using a Planet Audio amp with a listed 1100W RMS. this sub is dual 4 ohm VC, wired to 2 Ohms. and handles 2000 Peak and 1000 RMS.
