  2. Thats good to hear! if i can get a good alt at half the price of a Mechman or DC alt, im gonna do it lol
  3. Hey guys, I've been looking around for a h/o alt for my 95 ford thunderbird and i looked at Mechman and DC Power but as of right now i dont have the money to spend 400-500 dollars on an alt, although with DC and Mechman i know it would be money well spent. But i recently came across a company called DB Electrical that has a 250 amp alt for my car for $270 (link to db electrical alt) I was just wondering if buying the DB alt would be worth it or if i should just wait it out and get either a DC Power alt or a Mechman alt. Any and all input would be greatly appreciated guys Edit: will be running an AQ2200 on 2 Sundown SA12's and eventually an AQ 4x90 as well
  4. thats because you were probably sending a clipped signal to the sub causing the coil to heat up and eventually blow the sub, but im gonna go with everyone else and say the AQ HDC3-15 copper coils
  5. Besides not having to turn the gain on the amp up higher, the higher the prevolt output the less chance you will hear the musics floor noise threw the speakers. When you say "the musics floor noise" what do you mean by that? I've never heard that term used before. i think he means like the engine noise you can get through your rca cables, its like a constant fuzz in the background of the music, but usually if you run your power and rca cables on opposite sides of the car you get very minimal if any
  6. you know of a dealer/website for getting them? also... would these out perform the re sex 18's? http://www.audioque.com/ edit: and yes they would out perform the RE's
  7. you can get 2 AQ hdc3 18's for around 600
  8. still waiting for mine, but its all going into my savings account and eventually towards a new car
  9. after ohm rise you wouldnt hear an audible difference, you would be better off going to the sax2000d or 2500d, just dont crank your gains up
  10. look into the JBL p660c components as well, i haven't heard them personally but from what i hear they sound real good, BeAILsTaR13 is running them in his rebuild
  11. put the clips in the 2 outside spots, so the middle one should be empty and it will take it down to a 2 ohm load, then wire + to + and - to - and it will take you down to a 1 ohm load
  12. i cant wait till this thing goes into production, it looks awesome and if it stays under 100, itll be even better, as much as i want an oscope i dont feel like shellin out 300 bucks for one
