  1. If I had some $$ I'd get the oldschool rockford thats nice... GLWS
  2. ^^^^ this idk too many people that share my hobby around here, I'd be nice to get to know a few more bassheads.
  3. Wish their was shops like yall in KY
  4. I go on there but the meets that are planned no one goes... It seems that forums car audio section is fairly inactive. but maybe more people will check it out from here.
  5. I learned everthing I know about audio by doing it myself, I had no one helping me. dude my advice is research, research and research then you do more research. Lol just be careful and pay attention. Oh and not everything you hear is true, their is soo much bad advice out there.
  6. Like this http://www.google.com/m/search?site=images&source=mog&gl=us&q=grounding%20hu%20rcas&sa=N#i=0
  7. Grounding rcas? Take a peice of speaker wire, take off the plastic housing/jacket wrap it around the headunits rca jacks. Then take the end of the wire and use a screw in the deck wrap the wire around and screw it tight.
  8. The only people that could MAYBE help would be a car custom business, but prob not. For people in my area, no one really has a good system they think kicker is the best around here (North Dakota). So if anyone would be willing to help me out I would greatly appreciate it. I'm sure there's somebody in your area, not a shop they charge. Finding someone that knows their shit would be your best bet.
  9. Thats most likely whats causing it. Run the rca cables on the opposite side as the other wires. And get a good ground spot and sand it down to bare metal. That should cure your problem.
  10. You dont know of anyone in your area that knows their stuff that can help you? Maybe someone on here.? Idk just a thought maybe someone is willing to help, I would but I doubt you live in my area.
  11. Thanks... I dont have a TL I wish I did though.
  12. You can ground your rca's that might help. Are your rca's running next to any other wires? Also are you grounds good?
  13. Had no idea you 2 lived that close, Im in louisville as well Nice... I had no idea their was this many people on here that lived close either.
  14. Haha nice.... But I prob wont be competing. (if I do it would be just for fun). if I can get atleast 49s out the trunk I will. I still got alot to do my subs are facing the back of the car I wanna hit a 50 with them facing back I'll be pleased.
  15. When and where? I'd like to go. its sometime in may my dude ill hit u up with more details it right up there with SBN and that other comp up north O.K. cool.
  16. Stick around on here and you'll learn.
  17. The subs ohms has nothing to do with the power handleing whether it is a 1ohm sub 2ohm sub and so on....... The power handleing of a sub is the rms watts... They make differnt ohm loads on subs so you can wire them to differnt ohms. Most monoblock amps put out the most power at lower ohm loads, thats why people tend to wire to 1 ohm instead of 2 ohms or 4 ohms.
  18. Is the enclosure sealed? Is it the same box, with the boss sub removed?
  19. When and where? I'd like to go.
  20. Be really careful on the gain, meaning DO NOT turn it up all the way its impossible for me to tell you exactly where to set it without being there. But low pass at 80hz should be fine, for the highpass/subsonic its hard to say..... Its a sealed enclosure right? If so you Might not need the subsonic on.......
  21. We need to have a meet of some kind. I dont think theres any more comps here this year at all. It be cool to know a few more bassheads in louisville.
  22. Well go through and check every single coil with the DMM make sure they're all reading around whatever ohms they are. Like if its a 4 ohm sub it will not be exact it might read 3.8,3.9,4.0,4.1,4.2 you get the idea. You need to look for ir either not reading an ohm load or jumping numbers( like whole digits not points) That way you will know they all are working.
  23. Have you checked every speaker and coils? If not you might want to just to make sure none are acting as a passive radiator. Have you checked all your wires? To make sure theres no bad/loose connections. Just trying to trouble shoot.
  24. You have around 11in^2 of port area per foot. You might want a little more if possible, but that shouldnt cause your problem that your having now.... Do you have a DMM?
