  1. hmm i bet that thing will haul. the motor in the el camino is about 400 hp and its linked up to a 3 speed auto and we've got it up like 140 if i recall right. so you could probably hit like 160-180 top speed. Top speed doesn't exactly have to do with HP. More with gearing in transmisson and rearend. I had a 94 Mustang GT, few HP gaining mods, I guessimated 200rwph. I GPSed 140 before my nuts ran out.(The car started acting funny, isn't setup for that speed). Plus a old 60s car with stockish style suspension won't like nowhere near 160. Almost be a death trap. I've been 160 in my cousins 03 Cobra, totally different ride than my stang. But it doesn't have nowhere near the same suspension.(Coulda went faster but I wasn't driving, and I don't trust others that much).
  2. My analogies does fit. My post is my product. Maybe I should of pointed that out. The A Team- that is what I asked you to explain in my first post. Why did it take so long? Like I said I don't care about background info as much as the post. If you post something and it makes sense, and I see how you got your answer, that's good. That's how I expect people to look at my post. And I didn't say it couldn't be tested. Damn people. I only said a simple swap isn't going to give you a definite answer. And in any giving install, you can't give a difinte answer, without testing, that install. Then the outcome could only be good for that install. Sure, the normal mounting style could be loudest in thoery, but that doesn't mean it will be in every install. That's all I was getting it. Yet people had to complicate things to the max. If this doesn't clear up anything, yall are just being difficult. Also, when you make a point about my post, you only comment on one little thing I say. Like you skim read then come to a conclusion based of a few words I say. I never said it couldn't be tested. Maybe you should reread my posts a few times, to make sure you understand. I sometimes read peoples post 3-4 times trying to make sure I fully understand what they are saying, instead of assuming because I read it wrong.
  3. I also would like to make another point about background history. Take Rusty at DC. As far as I know he doesn't have a acoustic engineering degree, or had tons of experience engineering before DC. And Scott at Fi, who has 15 years plus engineer experience, and would be classified as a ascoutic engineer. If your going only on worked background, Rusty isn't even nowhere near the same leaege as Scott going by that. So does that mean you should even consider running DC cause he can't possibly know what he is doing compared to others. My point, you don't need know all the history about the man behind the product/or post in this case, to make your own conclusion about the product. And in no way am I downing Rusty, or DC. Just a example people, don't get upset.
  4. But whe I read and see people come to the wrong conclusion because the whole situation wasn't fully explains it gets under my skin. Things aren't simple as your making it. Example. I have two 1500watt amps and a 1500watt sub. In theory, they should be equal in output. But when I test in my car using a Termlab as a way of messurement, the first 1500watt amp is 1.2dB louder than the second 1500watt amp. All I did was a simple swap, and came out with that answer. Does that mean the first 1500d is the most powerful and best between the two definite? No. Simply because of the uncounted for variables that could of effected the outcome of the test. So thereforemy test is useless to everybody. As there is a slim chance the results might not be repeatable in my install, muchless in anybody elses.
  5. But a normal mounted sub being louder would have to be a fact if your going to claim it. I used a good example before. Take 9 watts compared to 10 watts. In perfect testing coniditions, 10 watts will be louder than 9. But in our world, you claim it because of the uncontrollable variables. That's my point. There isn't a definite answer in this situation, because of the variables. Anybody that understands variables and testing should understand what I'm saying. And I shouldn't have to prove anything because of this post. I'm not claiming nothing.
  6. I don't see why you care? I mean really? Is that the only thing you can complain about? I've made my points clear, and now won't post anything until I build something new. And that will because I'll wanna make a buildlog, not to show how much I know. Regardless, I've never seen such people who complain about anything. It seems if you sit around and just praise the bandwagon product, anything else people complain about it. Like I said, I'm not coming to this site trying to convince everybody a totally different theory and trying to force them to believe me without me having any background. I could see that, sure. But me just making a simple reply in a thread, that hardly anybody has really commented on, neither agreed or disagreed. If I didn't know what I was talking about, why hasn't anybody said anything else? And proved me wrong. If I end up being wrong, I'll admit it and then others will learn also. The only way people will learn is by explaining things, not just telling them the answer. Give a man a fish, you feed him for one day. Teach him how to fish, you feed him forever. Same should apply here. That's all I tried to do was explain things. And what I said should of made sense to most people. I explained how I came to my conclusion. So why doubt what I say? That's what YOUR not understanding. If you really have something else to say, do it in a different manner. These aren't exactly on topic.
  7. Did you mean wouldn't? Seems the way you put it, would doesn't fit as well as wouldn't.
  8. I've noticed that guy, and it seems he just recently found a program and thinks he now as all the answers when building a box. He told one guy, his setup wasn't audible until 68hz. I'm not sure how he knew that. He must have some special program. And could make a good living giving advise to people before they waste all their money testing. Instead he can just give you the SPL and not waste anytime buildin or testing.
  9. This will be my last post in this thread. I don't need to prove anything, as my statement shouldof spoke for itself. But read it one last time. You can't give a defiant answer if there will be any differences inverting or not. It would be install dependant. If it you could prove, what A-Team is trying to preach, it will not apply to everything. That is all I said. To many variables in each install will yield different results. That's like asking, will 1000 watts ALWAYS be louder than 999watts? A slight variable in testing could yelid the 999 on top.
  10. I didn't say they will yield the same results. Not in a install anyways. And most people wouldn't understand what all it would take to properly test the differences. And I think the Fuck You is a little uncalled for. Hell you wasn't even involved in this thread, so I'm not sure what your problem is. Only thing I'm defending is the right to let my post and the info I say speak for itself. You shouldn't need to know who I am, what I've done. When you test equipment you don't need to know the designers background history to figure out if he designed a good product or not. Same should appLy. Hell, I'm not even claiming some outragous statement as the truth and trying to convince everybody. Nobody has yet to say anything about my actually posts. Well, one agreed. Honestly, this forum is something else. I've never seen people act this in my life.
  11. who burnt their coils 4 times? ever think if the same person keeps burning subs... it could be the user? It was alpine who burnt them up.... I edited my first post because I didn't want to trash talk to much ...... I found it odd that skittles didn't even know his teammate went through re cones like he did. I witnessed him do it 3 times myself I can't figure out how people blow subs repeatly without really knowing any better. I mean after the first time, they should of figured out what caused it and understand the warning signs. I mean there is expections. Like people in extreme conditions, and understand before hand its either gonna go or blow. And alway push subs to the limits for certain reasons, SPL being one. But other than that, blowing a sub more than once is almost pure stupidity, unless for a few exceptions. Well, the last sub that I blew, (today actually), an amp failed on me and started putting straight DC current into the subs... So, I kinda lost out 2 fold on this one... amp and sub... That's a excepption for sure. I meant repeatly blowing subs, without a major reason why.(Varies reason, way to much power, ect) I'm talking about the one who has a port enclosure within specs and around RMS. I mean there are usually plenty of warning signs, saying "Hey I'm being pushed to hard". :shrugs: it'll happen for ever. You can't fix ingnorance.
  12. And making a posting saying that isn't something everybody wants to read either. But I agree, making a long post giving a explanation detail isn't worth reading. Do us all a favor and jump off your high horse. Your smart ass attitude and holier than thou behavior wont last long around here if it continues. As for you clearing up all the bullshit? Prove you knowledge to actually give out proper advice or STFU. Pictures are worth a 1000 words so stop being a pussy and get YOUR work up for everyone to see. What's the point of me posting pictures? What's that got to with anything? The A team- I wish I could of seen your original post because your short version didn't quiet get the point across. Are you saying a normal mounted sub will be louder a 100% of the time? No matter the install? And your using Extreme and SS vehicles as your example? And to whoever said check mate, like that's really a infinite answer and a 100% fact. Lol. Seems this site is caught up on WHO you are, not what you know. Or the louder you are, the more you know. Psht. I still don't see the point on anybody knowing who I am or what I've personally done. I'm not asking for respect for that. And what I've personally done is irrelevant to this thread and most of the post I will make. There's plenty of people that know a lot but haven't actually applied it to a actually install. Example, just because I haven't personally tested a certain idea, doesn't mean I can't come to a conclusion of the outcome. Me showing pictures of equipment I run or install I currently have shouldn't reflect any knowledge I have, or anybody else for that matter. People like myself research 100 times more before I even consider making a purchase or doing a install. I don't buy and build now, then figure out what I'm doing, like most. Still, most of the replies or conclusions I make will have little to do with something I personally have installed. You think I've tested inverted subs vs normal? No. But I can tell you there are to many variables to give a defiant answer. In ANY INSTALL. That's just understanding how to properly test. Still doesn't mean I have the resources to conclude such tests. Invalid tests are just as useless as no testing at all. Yet plenty of people test and don't consider the effect of the uncontrollable variables or account for them. And give out there tested info as facts. Do I really need to go on? I still see no point in me showing anything, I'm not here for that. I'm here to gather info and give out proper info. If somebody doesn't think I'm right? Do REAL research, not just on THIS site. People don't realize how much knowledge you can actually have by only knowing certain things. If don't you like my posts, simple don't read them. And definitely don't complain about them. Things would be a lot simpler if you just avoided it all together. Also, I haven't seen where I been a smart ass either to the people who said I have. Minus the one reply to Dwight, but he was one first.
