  1. @meade916. It is pretty hard to find a good Line Output Converter out there that puts out a clean signal. Hopefully we could see a D'Amore SMD LOC soon maybe????
  2. Yes, I have the Scosche LOC-80 and it does have adjustable gain outputs.
  3. Yes I Did. I just followed MrSkippyJ's instructions and I was able to get the amp tuned perfectly.
  4. Hi, I've looked throughout the posts but couldn't find what I was looking for. I have a 2010 GMC Sierra with the stock headunit. How do you get the DD-1 to detect a signal from the headunit. I've used the device on other aftermarket stereos which made it work fine. Is it because of my line output converter? Thanks
  5. Hi, Has anyone ever heard of Mike Jones at Custom Soundworks in Lubbock,TX? Been hearing rumors that he holds the record for the loudest car ever and best installer in the state? Is this true?
  6. Here is the sketchup rendering of the box also. http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/g364/johnarias2012/sundown2sketchup.jpg
  7. Here is another option. http://s1098.photobucket.com/albums/g364/johnarias2012/?action=view&current=Box.jpg
  8. I'm running to Digital Designs 508s under the seat firing outward. The box I got for it has dual ports on each side and make them slam pretty hard.
  9. what about this? http://s1098.photobucket.com/albums/g364/johnarias2012/?action=view&current=Untitled.png
  10. This past weekend I did build a box that was 12x12x14 with a port opening of 1.5" The port ran towards the back 9.625" and went to the right 6.25". It did sound awful so I want to get this second one right.
  11. so would that be 10" back, 10" right, 10" to the front on the port?
  12. I was looking around 25-30 hz. I was also if the port opening is smaller does that mean a lower frequency?
  13. Could the measurements for the box be 12x12x14?
  14. I will have to give you the measurements when I get the truck back tomorrow as it is in the shop. It is nearly impossible though to have the sub sit underneath the seat and the seats can't fold since they are bolted to the back of the truck so behind the seats is out of the question.
  15. I'm going to have it powered by a Crossfire C3 501. 500 watts rms on a 1 ohm load
  16. I'm putting it in a 2005 ford f150 crew cab. Since the seats sit so low I decided just to put it in the center seat of the back seat with the sub facing forward.
  17. Hi, I just became a proud owner of a Sundown Audio v2 8". Ive been doing some research and found out that the sub only needs .75 cu ft of space. What is the size of the port going to be for this sub. Also the dimensions of the box would be needed. Sorry for being a noob at box building. Thanks.
  18. I wanted to do that but the box is bolted to the body of the truck. I will more than likely get him to run new power and ground
  19. That's what I'm thinking. In my truck I'm running 2 gauge
  20. Sorry but I meant to say they are now in a 4 ohm load. I haven't been able to check voltage yet but I planning on doing so later this evening. I also want to clarify that I have 2 DD 8's in a 1 ohm setup with the same amp in my truck which plays fine. But trying to check everything I took my amp and put it in his truck and it still cuts out. The run of 8 gauge is possible 5 to 6 feet. The system is installed in a 2000 GMC Sierra Single Cab. The fuse is rated at 80A. When the subs cut out the amp does not power down or go into protect mode also. Currently the subs are wired like this. But the subs cut out wiring like this The power cable is directly wired into the positive battery terminal on the battery with the proper connectors. Also my friend has led dark blue interior lights so its hard to tell if they are dimming but a voltmeter test will probably tell me everything.
  21. Hi Guys I put a system in for my friend who has 2 10" Digital Designs 510 Dual 4 ohm coils. The amp is a Crossfire C3 501 that puts out 500 watts RMS at 1 ohm. We are also running 8 gauge Power wire. When I have the subs wired to 1 ohm, they cut out on a song with low notes or when the volume gets too high. I have the amps gains set correctly with a SMD DD-1. And I know its not the Amp because I have the exact same amp in my own truck which makes the subs cut out. To make them to stop cutting out I wired the subs to 2 ohm. But I want it wired to 1 ohm to be louder. Could this be an electrical problem or something else?
