well i finally got the hz lights to come on today by sticking the black clamp in the - speaker terminal on the sub amp, but the 300/4 i had to stick it in opposite terminals??? i dont understand why that would be and im not sure this is right, my gains are higher now than before when i used a dmm, spent hour trying to get this dd 1 to work lol

im gonna try it again tom and see what happens, any more suggestions i would really and i mean really appreciate it guys, thanks

i did, i tried track 4 and 6 1000hz and same result and did 5 and 3 for 40hz

i turn the headunit to 39, turn it on the correct track, stick the red probe in the positive and clamp the other part on the amp ground wire, then play the track and it wont detect the hz, the signal light comes on tho, and then i turn the gain up and it will read distortion but the 40hz light never came on or 1hz when i did the full range amp You need to turn your crossover(HZ) all the way up. i did turn it all the way up on the both when i did each, i turned off the infrasonic filter 2

yea read them prolly 6 times lol it worked fine when i did the headunit, just not with the amps...

just got my dd-1 and found my headunit clipping point fine with is a pioneer 4200, clipped at 40 so i keep it on 39, my problem is when i try to set the gains on my jl 300/4v2 and jl 1000v2 the 1hz and 40hz lights wont come on, ive followed the instructions to a T, idk what im doing wrong???? please help!!!!

If you're looking to keep your sub in good condition, leave "Bass" on the headunit at 0 and turn down bass boost on the amp to 0. Also, set your gains with an oscilloscope (or at least a digital multimeter) If it's not loud enough for you when set properly, then you've caught the disease and will have to upgrade equipment. Don't worry, it happens to all of us lol aw man i guess i need to get a couple of 12w7s then lol this setup i love for listening to everyday on music but when i want to blast it it aint as loud as i want but i reckon i just need to go ahead and buy another sub and amp and be done with it lol how much did you spend on that 12w7? 200, got it from a guy who needed the money, like new, i got lucky on that deal

iis a ported upfiring box about 1.75 or 2.25 i cant remember and tune 32hz

do u turn the sub level on the headunit up the whole way? and do i use my bass boast control knob?

u mean know what ur doing by controling the volume and knowing when to blast it?

I have a 2005 f150 supercrew with one 12w7 in a custom ported box upfired to jl specs. The sub is powered by a 1000/1 slash v2 amp. I have a 250 alt and all electrical is 0 gauge. my question is what range should i prolly hit on the meter? Ive never did a comp with this setup and just wondering what it might hit around before the comp gets here sunday

im new to the forum, I have 05 f150 supercrew with a mechman 250 alt, Big 4 with 0gauge, sound deaden all doors and backwall and some on the floor and firewall, my system includes jl c5 6.5 components in the front doors and c2 5x7 in the rears with a jl slash v2 300/4 on them and a jl slash v2 1000/1 on a jl 12w7 in a ported box, my question is, what sub could i replace the w7 with when i do spl comp? the sub would need to be i reckon a 1000 watts rms and would be louder than the w7 in spl. This sub would only be used when i do sound comp, i been lookin at audioque hd3 , are they any good for spl? any ideas guys?
