So apparently in the 90s a 42v system was proposed to replace 12v in cars... Damn that would've been nice. Anyone remember it at all? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/42-volt_electrical_system

Power is v^2/r.
With normal 12v, the resistance of your skin is so high that even if you were to grab the battery posts, the amount of power flowing through you is negligible. But at 48v - 16 times the power, who knows. Maybe it might not be so negligible anymore lol

42v would have been cool...imagine an 8ga run and 30amp fuse to do over 1000W lol...one run of 0/1 cable would be good for 10k hahah
