Title says it all, i was installing my amp and was using anything i could for a ground, just to make sure it was all hooked up correctly. I used a very very very thin wire 18 gauge it looks like. The amp won't turn on. I checked my power and my blue amp wire. It's all set up but the amp won't turn on. I put it in my buddys car that has a much thicker ground and it turns on. Any ideas? Also pretty sure the ground is grounded well. Thanks

Lol, alright well i can replace the wires no problem, hell i could even buy the better wires but gotta leave something for my mom before she kills me. Thanks gys, so it woulldn't do anything to the sub correct? Or amp -
Hey guys, so I was curious, what's the worst that will happen if i run a lower gauge wire both speaker wire, ground, power ect. Couldn't tell you the exact gauge it's a cheap pack from wal-mart my friends letting me use for now. I'd buy the wire i need but moms gettin a lil mad saying she won't be able to get me anything for x mas So im thinkin about just running my friends wire but it's a pretty low gauge, if i push it to hard will it damage the sub? Or will the wires just burn up. Thanks for any input

That would be dc level 3, on an MPR-M1000 Alpine amp. -

Hey, well awhile back, when i first got into car audio i had bought a 20 dollar raptor pack or something at AutoZone, it came with speaker wire for the sub, to hook up the amp to the sub, heres a picture of the wire. I put it next to a screw so you can get a feel for the size. How important is this wire? Will this suffice or would the sub perform alot better with another type or wire. Any inputs grately appreciated. Thanks

Lol, thank you i was trying to find the word for it yeah maybe. Just not sure, i'll have to hook it up and see how bad it rattles. Need a box Munky, You think the DC level 3 custom box on 1k alpine amp will be better than Kicker CVX 750 watts on a crunch amp, in a prefab box? (; had to upgrade little worried about the space though, i had the Kicker in a extended cab, this ones in a car way more room to cover. -
