Ok so my current setup which is relatively small is making my headlights dim whenever the bass slams. So I was wanting to get 2 d3400's and putting 1 under the hood and the other in the trunk. Now I heard having two batteries doubles the drainage on your alternator. Which brings me to this I have a stock alternator so its like 130amps so like 60amps to run the car and 70amps for equipment so the batteries would have to make up the difference right? My current amp is 2200w mono power acoustik crypt series. Its wired at 2ohms it says 1300@2ohms, but I know that's not happening. So I plan on getting (2) aq1200's and running them instead. *Sorry i'm so scattered I just wanted to know if I get the 2 batteries will it kill my alternator. I dont plan on having this car for that much longer so I really dont want to get a new h/o alternator seeing as to how I just replaced it about 4 months ago. Oh and I know the 3400 will be me more than enough,but I wanted to have a little breathing room for if I decided to upgrade to a bigger system. Sorry its so long thanks for reading though

Yea I did the Big 3 already and my lights still dim running a 2200 PA mono. Whats up with that? I have a fairly new alt is it just too much? The wires not soldered though could that be the problem? I dont want to get some nice ass amps just to F*** em up with my shitty electrical.

Yea I was thinking AQ. But should I upgrade my electrical first then get two of these or put the cash in my electrical first. Either way I was going to try to get another batt in the back and work my way up from their (i.e. alt and more batts).

Lol... Seems no one noticed he has stock electrical. He will need to do the Big 3 and upgrade his battery (or add a good battery to the back) before he can run any of the amplifier mentioned. OP, you haven't mentioned the voice coil configuration of the woofers. Are they both D4 or D2? That will make finding an amplifier easier. their dual 2's I've done the big 3

Im leaning towards the aq2200d or that hifonics brutus. Ive heard the brutus in action before, but for the direction I want to take my build I think the aq would be best.
