  1. ya surely hes done something to it by now other than headlights hids and taillight swap.... i just got some bixenon hids also and definatly love them! price was so cheap i bought 3 kits. one for each civic and one for a spare just incase they ever have issues. i just really want to put my nice alpine dvd radio in the 96dx since its my daily driver now... and i love that free satelite radio i get from it last year when i put my 99 in storage out in the shop for ruffly 5 months i had the sat service turned off and aparently LUCKY ME the STOP signal from the satelite was never received to the tuner... and when i got the car out of the shop in the spring my sirius satelite still worked... and still works to this day funny thing is they keep sending me discount offers to come back. hahahha little do they know im still getting it. LMFAO hell im thinking about buying another addon unit like i used to have and do it again this year... activate it for a month or two then put it into the shop all winter or just unplug it and throw it into a file cabnet out there. my battery was completly dead on the civic over the winter so i dont think it needs a memory backup power. sure beats the hell outta paying like 13bucks a month for it.LOL
  2. i know its a old thread.... but by any chances do you have any better pictures of the heater controls relocated to the lower cupholder area? i have a 96dx now and i need to move mine to fit my alpine DD radio kinda like you did, since im planing on selling my 99ex civic this winter and im not going to sell it with my nice radio! so i have to find a way to move the controls or either go all out for a 99-00 ac swap or chop up my cracked/scared up console. and modifying my audio console is alot cheaper! im disapointed this thread has pretty much died... do you still have the civic?
  3. ya i tried that already. i just pulled the power wire inline fuses on them. the fuse that is geting hot is the main ignition wire. its the only one thats really needed well besides the AC wire.LOL thats the main reason for the remote starter... i also think its odd with its passlock vats security system sometimes works with the key just fine and other times it wont start with the key. ODD. the way my dads been restarting the car when it does that is with the remote starter system which has always started the car no problem with my resistor bypass/relay setup, ive even changed relays thinking maybe it was the problem. so now i just wire in a momentary switch to the alarms bypass relay to activate the bypass just like the alarm and then the key will start the car just fine. its odd theres no pattern to it either! but i just wired up the momentary switch to the relay to make it easier for him to restart it because he kills the motor ALOT.LOL he remote starts it gets in THINKS he turned the key ON but he doesnt OR TOTALY FORGETS THE KEY and as soon as he hits the brake pedal. OFF it goes.LOL i just bought some 40amp fuses from the audio store and ill try one out in the problem wire and see if still gets hot or not or if the wire gets hot either... have to do some testing if the wire/fuse does get hot after the full 15mins of run time then ill try cutting the wire off the relay box and use my own 12volt 30amp relay and hardwire it and activate that relay with the alarms ribbon cable wire that turns that wire on. i hope i can find the real problem..... and IMO i dont see how those SMALL @SS built in relays can handle that much power.LOL they are supper small!
  4. the only things i have to test amperage only go to 15amps and it will blow the internal fuse.
  5. well NOPE the ground on the alarm is good but it is kinda a small wire. i added a larger wire to it right off the alarms plug and added a second larger ground wire BUT NO LUCK fuse still gets hot to the touch after ruffly 30seconds of remote started time. it doesnt blow after 10mins or run time or at least hasnt yet. o dang now im starting to get confused. thought my wiring might be off. so checked another online wire site http://www.directwholesale.net/diagrams/diagrams.asp?link=DW and it only says ign1 pink, accessory orange. well my designtech wiring info says ign1 pink ign2 ornage acc brown the directwholesale site might be wrong... its for a 99 buick lesabre im gonna have to go out there now and try to disconct some wires and see what happens.
  6. will do. ill check the ground on the brain in just afew mins and hopefully thats the problem!
  7. its the stock wire that is made on the relay box and a 30amp fuse which also came together and is listed at 30amps.
  8. well the wire doesnt feel hot. just the fuse..... no shorts, wires right off the ignition power wires. and the relay box doesnt have its own ground. just the ribbon cable that runs to the alarms brain. i think the only ground is on the alarms brain and its not that large of a wire. ill check its conection tomorow morning.
  9. well i instaled this hornet 564T alarm remote starter system ruffly a few years ago on my dads buick. i hooked it all up no issues with it at all from the start. BUT afew weeks ago it blew a fuse on the remote starter relay satellite.... i changed the fuses around even the power wires! it has 2 power wires doing to the relay box.... and EVERY TIME i activate the remote starter system after ruffly 30seconds or so that same fuse warms up and seems to get hot to the touch... and that concerns me!!!!!!! im thinking its just gonna blow again... the old original fuse was litterly melted in the center! bubbles in the plastic, plastic fuse holder was also melted one one side. it has 30amp fuse. if i had a 40amp fuse i would try it but i know thats not a good idea! i dont understand WHY ITS GETTING HOT!!!!!!!! my dad bought another alarm system thinking that maybe the brain or the relay box was going bad. but i swaped out both and checked all the wires for tight clean conections and they are good! there is 3 power wires on the new relay setup that is also fused and the old one had the same thing kinda with just a jumper wire. but only 1 of the fused power wires get hot...... BUT WHY...... its the main power wire i guess because if i pull or that fuse blows then the remote starter system will not work!!!!! but if i pull the 1 other fuse nothing happens, and the other i think killed the radio. and i have power at all 3 power wire solder joints on the relay box. im sorry im kinda bad at describing it....... this is just extremly frustrating! ive tried a different fuse holder from a old amplifier 8gauge wire i had it tho the fuse holder does not feel hot but the fuse itself does feel hot!
  10. the led scanner is very easy to instal! i believe its just a power wire, then the orange wire that is grounded when the alarm is armed and then just a ground wire. simple 3 wire hook up. http://search.stores.ebay.com/varad-scanne...Q2em118Q2el1248 varad is probably the better brand name for alarm scanners. they have several diferent models and colors and even a few multicolor led units as well.
  11. well mine says it "can be set to detect a change in level of less than 1 degree." tho i did not open the case to look at adjust it..... works good enough for me as is..... i might play with the adjuster later on.
  12. ya.LOL i just got done for the night and pulled it outside and my dome light kicked on afew times from doing from the shop to the garage.LOL ill just turn off the dome light till tomorow afternoon.LOL i just backed the car up and said WTF...... my dome light kinda flashed ON OFF real quickly. and more like a DOOH..... shoulda done it.LOL so ill do that tomorow night. i also fixed my parking/fog light issue with a relay so it wont blow anymore fuses off the alarms output. and also instaled my new varad 3color led scanner. tho i changed the pattern of the leds alittle. little things got 40patterns to chose from! and 3speeds. i need to drill a hole to hide the wires in my pillar trim and actualy glue the sucker firm since the double sides tape i tried to use isnt holding a darn thing! CLICK PICTURE BELOW FOR VIDEO
  13. o ok.... well i had to just tie the trigger wire into the door pin connection.... i guess a feedback on the door pin wont hurt anything so i didnt diode it. so far it works great! i just couldnt have it tied into that multiplex input on the alarm, the tilt sensor did say WARN AWAY and FULL TRIGGER but i guess they lied! the trigger is such a quick pulse that its no good for full trigger but works great wired into the door trigger. i got it just about done now i just have to fix another parking light issue and gonna instal one more siren under the dash tonight. i just got back from eating and a movie. shouldnt take me long to finish.
  14. having problem with my tilt sensor i just bought... trying to instal it right now and have it wired up to a python model 881XP alarm/remote starter system, trigger wire hooked up to multiplex input, zone 4 it says shorter than 0.8seconds will trigger warn away, and longer than 0.8seconds will full trigger. well so far i can only get warn away chirp.... this is what i bought and trying to instal http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...N:IT&ih=018 im trying to protect my wheels! i know my car is lowered and harder to get a jack under but still at current ride height anyone can still get a jack at least under the front and then they can just work there way back with another jack to steal my rear wheels as well. anyone have any advice on how to get this tilt sensor to work properly? im starting to get frustrated!
  15. i had 3inch blocks on my old 96jimmy. very easy to instal!!!!! i instaled mine out in the parking lot of my old apartment complex. some penatrating oil, some open end wrenches or some DEEP sockets would also work.... i even kept my stock shocks which still worked great. they never blew.
  16. have you had a alignment done on the car? also... not to be mean but how much you weigh? reason i ask is even if you did get a alignment and it said straight..... 2 factors can throw your alignment off, 1 gas tank level. i typicaly get a alignment on about 1/2 gas tank.... and if you a good size boy then your weight could also throw off the alignment..... 2 options so fix that. fill gas tank to about 1/2tank, and tell them you want to sit in the car while they align the car. or get some weights and put them in the drivers floor board and behind drivers seat to weight the car down alittle. ive heard of some over weight people having wierd tire wear issues.... camber doesnt wear tires to much.... but bad toe will eat them up!!!!! ive had my civic droped with 2 different suspensions now and tires still have even wear, because ive always gotten a alignment ruffly a week after i instaled the lowering parts. you typicaly cannt just go get a alignment after instal because springs can settle and throw off the new alignment. also make sure your alignment people dont jerk you around! 1st time i went to midas to get a alignment the pricks didnt even tell me my one rear toe adjuster was seized until i went back and asked him why my one side on the rear wasnt right on the print out paper! total jerks!!!!!! and yes i was siting in the lobby the whole time NO REASON FOR THEM NOT TO COME TELL ME!
  17. o forgot to show the camber kits. dang... i need to edit my sig now. no more blue turd... o ya... heres a picture of the car siting on stock suspension before the instal. LOL IT LOOKS LIKE A MONSTER TRUCK! o ya im also going to finish my custom taillights/ tinted tails as well. just need to buy the new flexlights to finish them up.
  18. well i had 2 civics my 99civic and a 94civic. but ended up selling my 94 winter beater project to pay off all my credit card bills. SO NOW im back onto the 99 in full force that my paycheck can handle.LOL but not to much to screw up my credit cards again. definatly dont want to touch them! (very tired of those %rates! ) i just got finished instaling my new suspension last week. only thing i would like to add to it is some extended upper top hats for added strut travel. used KONI Yellow struts, with Ground Control coilovers with standard rate springs. as well as Skunk2 camber kits front and rear. so far I LOVE THE NEW SETUP! HUGE adjustment ability! i can slam the sucker out fully to lay the car on the pavement easy! but due to it being a daily driver.... its not, at least in the front i dont want to crush my fenders when taking a turn!!!! i may customize some turn/bump stops later on so i can drop the front more and not worry about it as much. but the rear i can lay low. i got 3.75inch clearance. and my rear wheel arches need rolled alittle more to run camber within specs. i rolled them before but not for this slamed ride... so now i gotta buy that tool again unfortunatly i sold the tool after i used it thinking i was done with it. WOOPS... o well. and before ya say it.... yes its a automatic..... im considing a manual swap but not sure due to it being a daily driver and anyone thats drove a stick can tell you TRAFFIC SUCKS! enough chat heres some pictures. i can go ruffly 1inch lower in the rear. and i think 2-3inches lower in the front, but i didnt set it that low since i dont want to crush my fenders... this was just a kinda TRIAL PICTURE of the drop..... just a quick setup.... you can kinda see some wicked rear camber.LOL to go any lower i need the new extended upper mounts for the struts and ground controls... otherwise with a bump my car will ride on the bump stops. ill be redoing the bump in the trunk pretty soon. this is just my TEMP system. cheap/quick prefab box and small amplifier just slaped in the trunk as you can see.LOL but getting back on my real toy feels good. its been parked all winter and my moneys been going into my old 94civic. but now im puting the cash back into my real toy/daily driver. DONT WORRY nothing crazy. future plans is lip kits front and rear as well as side skirts painted to match black. chaning my blue interior lights to green. and finishing my green underbody flexled strip i started last year. no worries lite from wheel to wheel no gaps and no lights visable, only the glow on the ground, tho i dont drive much at night anymore. id still like to complete the setup. i just need to finish the sides. other than that i think ill be pretty much done with the car. o ya i also just got a high power alternator and a second optima yellow top for the stereo upgrade.
  19. NICE BI-xenon hids! i wish i bought them for my 99. i just got the cheaper low beam hid and halogen high beam. the high beam is total crapp it shouldnt even be there! whats next?
  20. well they are an improvement from the old tails.... im just disapointed thats al thats happened to it all this time gone by now. but i understand ya got more projects.... i say ya get some train horns on that sucker i just ordered mine a few days ago to put on my 94civic... i thought about hooking them up to my alarm system BUT that might be to much if someone bumps my turd.LOL just a toy mainly but it will be very usefull for these idiots that keep cutting me off or trying to side swipe me! and yes it happens alot where i work! plus theres alot of road construction so theres concrete barries on my side... so ya bad things can happen. so now im gonna be able to wake those idiots up! tho i will leave my stock horns hooked up to a extra switch for those people at stop lights that dont know green means go.... dont want to start road rage... but i do want to wake people up. hahaha
  21. so sad to see it go..... i think ill always keep a civic, unless i can find something that can get better MPG.LOL
  22. ya well ALMOST official..... i got 3times as much from the cylinders.LOL im SHOCKED! 330bucks! and i gave him alittle discount on the shiping 11bucks off shiping for actual shiping, and selling him my 50ft air line for 30bucks extra. so i SHOULD be getting 399bucks for the 4cylinders, brackets, and air line. I WAS SO SHOCKED when that ebay listing just kept going up in the last minute! hahahahaha i really wish i could have air ride on my civic BUT i need to get these dam credit cards paid off! im tired of just throwing money away every month!!!!!! now im just waiting for the guy to pay thru paypal and ill go run those parts out to be shiped and put the cash right on afew credit cards! tho dont think ya wont see me back in this section! I WILL BE BACK TO GET 1 OF MY VEHICLES ON AIR SUSPENSION! tho i do have a small project with air that i do want to do with some of the parts i got now...... can you say...... TRAIN HORN i got valves, tanks, so i just need the horns really. ill worry about compressor later. i dont plan on using it to much so ill just hook up a fill nosel to the air tank. very simple there. should REALLY freak out my tire shop when they get ready to pull the car in for tires. LMFAO and most important make the guy thats drifting into my lane THINK FAST! im tired of thinking im gonna get rammed into the concrete construction barriers! and ran off the road! thanks for your help guys! i do highly appreciate it! i will not forget your good information and tips!
  23. slight update ya well lately decided to sell my air stuff at least looks like ill get my money back outta my cylinders as well..... i got em up on ebay.... i figure after i do get all my credit cards paid off then ill start saving for all new air parts...... thats if i still have my 94 civic..... tho i may slap it on my 99 but im not to sure yet. depends how long it will take me to get my bills paid off completly
  24. i wish but im to broke i even put my used valves and air tanks on ebay hoping to get some cash for them at least what i paid for them... i figure id probably be beter off having all new valves anways, plus the air tanks lines where to small ports and only 2 on each, so very limiting.... hardest part is deciding to either to spend the tax check and GETrDONE or put it on bills and keep piecing it together this time with new valves. and plus another kick in the balls isi got the bills for all my liscence plate renewals are due in febuary worst thing about owning multiple vehicles!!!!!!
