  1. I used 14 gauge, I have heard of people using 16 and 12.. I don't think it would make that big of a difference if you just used 12 or 14 or even 16, I heard the difference is negligible.
  2. you should be able to right click on the .zip file and extract them into a folder where the files will be
  3. hey all! I don't post much around here (mostly in the Tunez section) but I'm relatively new to car audio (started getting interested within the last year). right now I just have an old pair of Infinity 10's in a sealed box powered by an old 600w Kenwood amp and I'm finally getting around to upgrading, and I want to make sure I do it right. first question is if anyone's ever tried to Soundstream T6-12's.. I can't find many reviews on the internet but they seem like a pretty good deal for the price, as I can get 2 for around $400. I'm also considering 2 Alpine Type R 12's.. if anyone can help me make the best decision it would be much appreciated! I'm open to any suggestions. my budget is around $1200 for the system all together, but since I don't have to tools to build a ported box I'll have to find someone who can do it for me as I really don't want to go with a crappy prefab, but if anyone finds one with the ideal space for either of these subs (or any suggested) I'd definitely look at it. these would be going in a ported box so I want to go loud! I know this is the sub/enclosure section but if anyone could recommend me a good amp to power these I'd be open to any help! thank you for all the help guys
  4. hey guys, posting again in the tunez section (haha my 2nd post)! first was the new Mac Miller song and now I'm here to show support for my man Pate from west Philly! so far he's had 2 real popular mixtapes, Take off in T-Minus and Take off in T-Minus 2 (just released last Thursday). my friend first got me into him a long time ago and since then we've been trying to get his name out and promote as much as we can, and I figured this would be one place to post it! most of the tracks on his first tape were freestyles and his second was all about the content. just a warning: his first mixtape is clipped VERY badly (just the way it was produced) and it's unfortunate because the beats are awesome. it's great for just listening though! please let me know what you guys think of him, and any good news I'll forward straight to him, he'd be glad to hear what you have to say! both tapes were released for free so here are links (hope this is allowed. please let me know if it isn't and I'll take them down) Take Off in T-Minus Take Off in T-Minus 2 and you can follow him on Twitter at @spacehighpate thanks in advance guys
  5. hey forums! figured I'd introduce myself since this is my first post and I've got a song for you guys! I'm a 17 year old just newly getting into car audio (always been big into music though I've been playing instruments since I was 4) so naturally as soon as I could drive I had to have tunes in the car! right now my "system" is pretty pathetic (Kenwood deck, Kenwood 6.5s all around, and 2 Infinity subs in a sealed box powered by an oooold 600w Kenwood amp) but I figured if this would be one of the best places to spend my time to learn about car audio and stuff. so hopefully I'll be well accepted around here! anyway this is a new Mac Miller song slated to be on his new album "Blue Slide Park" coming in the next few months. for those of you who don't know about him he's a young kid from Pittsburgh (he's only 19) who's absolutely blowing up lately. he's not really known for his beats (this song isn't really his kind of beat but it's a nice departure from the usual) but if you guys are interested, his mixtapes (K.I.D.S. and Best Day Ever) are on the internet for free. let me know what you think!
