  1. i know a lot of people on here talk shit on n8 and say hes just an asshole and he doesnt know what hes talking about

really? lol ive never heard anything like that.

id like to chime in... N8 was the very first dude on here that we had the pleasure to talk to,.. he treated my wife with respect on a question she had.... and hes been nothing but a real stellar guy to chat with... and we know he in fact knows exactly what hes doing... much respect for the guy.....

    Kyle and Laura

  2. no doubt, theres cj with his 15's,.. and many many other like yourself N8, that put up fantastic, sick, numbers....mumbers me and the ole lady only dream of..... and it seems to take alot more than a buddys money, and a few subs in a trunk.... suffice it to say the hella hard work, testing, de bugging, redoing, time, money (yours or a buds), frustration, knowledge, and a mother load of other factors... but,... hell.. good luck, and waiting for your first legit post of a number.....

  3. i have had a rockford fosgate prime r500.1 for a few months now. it has been a great amp. all of a sudden one night i got into my car and there was no sub power no power light or protect light. checked fuses found they were blown replaced them and everytime the amp would turn on the fuses would just keep blowing. i noticed whenever i replaced the negative battery cable back on the amp it wasnt sparking whick i thought was odd so i checked the ground. as far as im concerned its exactly how it was 3 months ago. the ground wire is under the seat belt bracket. i sanded both contact sides down and put the wire in between it. i repositioned and sanded a little more and tightened it down real good when i put the wire on the amp it was now sparking a little when i went to put it on. but i also heard sort of like a fizzling sound coming from the amp and a little bit of smoke. i wasnt really sure what to think but hey the fuses didnt blow so i turned the key on and all hell broke loose. the amp littlerally puffed out smoke it was quite the show. by the time i got the battery cable off the whole car was full of smoke. what happened. everything was working so good? the amp has a 1 year warranty so i hope its covered. maybe i should have been removing the positive terminal not the negative. i just cant see how anything i could have done could have caused this. i had the right fuses on the amp and also have a inline fuse in the engine compartment.

sucks, only problem ive ever had with a RF amp (P400-2)... got in the car, and no ouput, it had blown main power line fuse.. replaced it, and it would blow the second i would turn the key... sent it in and got a new one... no questions asked.... cant tell you why or what the deal was... but thats the only issue ive ever had with my dozen or so RF amps... good luck ......

  4. hmmm now im looking at a dc lvl 4. ugh why does there have to be so many options!

now your thinking... yep, fan boy....

are you calling me a fan boy? just because i want thinking about getting one of their subs?

for $300 AQ hdc3 is your best bang for the buck.

i was considering those but ive heard those dont get low. ill look more into those though.

no sir... ME AND THE WIFE are the fan boys.... lol....didnt mean nothing, i was implying that we are the FB's bro.... good luck in your ventures...

  5. disconnecting one channel at a time will tell you where the issue may lie. certainly try that.

another culprit could be a defective rca.

yet another could be a pinched rca, or even remote wire. I've seen that happen as well.

best way to rule out the amp is to disconnect all channels except one. let it play if no problems, hook up the next channel... and repeat. if you get to say the third set and it cuts off... disconnect that channel and hook up the next. if no problems then you need to check everything in that third run (again thats an example) process of elimination.

    but again, check rca, etc.

and yet another... make sure the input voltage going into the amp does not exceed the input voltage of what the amp can handle. I had that issue with an amp in the past... the company that made the amp also made the eq I was using. the problem was the eq was a 7volt eq... their amps only took 4volt input. lol

do agree with that.. instead of checking every speaker... narrow it down some.... each side, left, right, and or channel... hell, borrow or put another amplifer (borrowed or whatever) in there and see what happens...?????... man, good luck.. please report findings bro...
