  1. Sick work Jimmy. Care to try rootbeer or copper colored? I'm just curious to see what it'd look like.
  2. His buddy did the calculations and probably forgot to add in the ~80% efficiency factor that most amps have.... Take away 20% from 600 and you got about 480 watts.
  3. LOL.... It's either inline six or v six.. Can't be both. The thing about clipping is it may not hurt your system now, but eventually it'll get to it. Not to mention, your system won't get any quieter without the clipping. In fact, I'd be willing to bet there's a gain in there somewhere. Clipping is just hard on your sub. It makes the sub work harder and heats up the voice coil more. So over time, you'll start smelling your woofer because the enamel coating on the voice coil is slowly wearing away due to the heat. Who am I to tell you this though? Just another name on the internet like fritos. My question is are your gains maxed out? Bass boost maxed out? What the Subsonic set at? How about the low pass? What deck do you have? I'd put the kicker 750 over the MRP-850 any day. Kicker makes some nice amps. Only complaint about them is the low pass doesn't go low enough. I ran a zx1000 for a while... Loved it.
  4. Actually they have. If you do your research, maybe you'd see what he has done. Fritos knows his shit.
  5. LOL... 'everyone else is just being elitists but what can you expect on the sMD boards =] ' Yeah, if you match the resonant frequency of your vehicle, your numbers will increase. Nobody is being elitists here, you're just being ignorant in the fact that you think you know everything, yet you have a lot to learn. I have a lot to learn myself, yet the fact why I'm here is to learn, and I don't think that's why you are here. I think you are here to hear what you want to hear, and since that's not what we're giving you you're getting all butt hurt. Nobody has directly insulted you or your equipment, but you can't put out false claims without proof. You've probably got a clipped to fuck signal because you can't hear clipping. Take a second to try to learn versus telling us we're not helpful. There's a ton of info on the site, and it doesn't cost anything to learn...
  6. The Alpine MRP lineup is nothing to brag about. Not one of Alpine's most credited products. I used an alpine MRP-850 amp and it sucked... Returned it within 24 hours of getting it.
  7. The sight seems like it got faster, its been slow as shit since the change, minus these last couple hours.
  8. I wouldn't put any more than 125 RMS without going active. http://www.caraudiodeals.com/mb-quart-dsc4125-p-2250.html
  9. I'm hoping he was talking about output voltage, not input
  10. No need to take offense to it.. There's just no definitive answer we can give you. It involves way too many variables. You mentioned 'retarded loud' that's what made me believe you hadn't heard something 150+ ... It wasn't meant in a disrespectful way... I just don't think you can get retarded loud on 600 watts.
  11. Try to find a local audio competition... Hopefully you'll find something truly loud.
  12. That's what I'm saying...... If the entire truck doesn't get painted. (Door seals, engine bay, etc)
  13. The third output on your deck is a subwoofer signal (Low pass) If you were to hook that up the the EQ, you wouldn't be sending the right signal/ frequency for Mids/ highs. Personally, I don't even use the EQ for subs.... Just my door speakers. On my EQ, I lost some lows by running it through the EQ.
  14. D1.... What amp did you put to it? You said 300 watts... but can you show a link of your amp? Unless it's the Alpine 450...
  15. You only use one Output... I used the 'front' output on my head unit.
  16. What are the specs of the enclosure? What model FI? Where are you guys getting your amps too LOL? 200, 300, 500 RMS is nothing.
  17. I like the white with the tinge of blue pearl. It looks really good. The calipers work well with it, the wheels pop, and your custom interior will work nicely with white(ish) I say no to color matched wheels. They look bad as fuck the way they are, no point in changing that up. Steve, you plan on getting everything painted? Door seals, under the hood/ engine bay? If not... I vote keep it stock, maybe get the bumper painted... Accent a few things, just keep it simple.
  18. I've seen so much worse... Those kids are retarded for paying almost $1000 a month JUST for rent. I'm saying that and I live in California.... LOL @ Them. $1000 a month is almost enough for rent and food where I'm going to college. Maybe even utilities... But hey, that's the price of paying for your friends I guess.
  19. I'm impressed the coil didn't come apart before the driver caught on fire. Intense though....
  20. There are so many variables that I couldn't give you a definitive answer. If you install your 18'' sub and you're only hittin 29.9 with it a speaker a door would be fine. If you install your 18 and you're hittin 145... You're gonna need a lot more power or drivers/ tweets for the mids and highs to keep up. Don't try to do more than you're capable of too quick. It usually doesn't turn out good. If all you're looking for is some beat, throw your sub in a sealed box, mount the amp to the box, run some wires and call it a day. If you're looking for a hobby/ challenge start researching...
  21. You start with research. You have a lot of time. You have to read reviews, listen to stuff in person, find what you like, then keep that in mind and get the stuff when you find the opportunity for a deal you can't pass up. If you are limited with speakers, running active will allow you to select a wider range of speakers that have the potential to sound great. WWW.BCAE1.COM is a site with just pure information.
