the problem with working at ccity was that I couldn't save up enough money to get what I wanted from kicker. Luckily I was really tight with my manager and I ended up getting another job at the Exxon Refinery down here and stay working at Ccity on weekends. I saved up enough money in a week and a half to make my order: 2 kicker l7 15s, ZX2500.1, and 1/0 AWG power kit - 900 shipped I start school at LSU again next week and I'm goin back to my job at CCIty, Lookin to make another order. got to get 4 l7s for my tahoe.

no commission at best buy or ccity. Conns is the only one I know that still does commission. And yes, discounts are just strait nasty (can you say $360 for a solo-x 12?) among other things.

I used to work at Circuit city and I'm goin back in a few days. Get ready to be enticed by some NASTY employee discounts. I mean serious like 75% off of car audio shit. That's what I got at CCity, but generally they only hire you when you turn 18 (less paperwork that way). Make sure you tell them what you want to hear. You are not there to sell products, you are there to sell products with accessories (protection plan, installs, extras.) So yea if you work in computers, you sell a computer, but there is a percentage you have to maintain on extras. For instance I think our goal at CCITY was 15% of the price you had to get in accessories. So you sell a computer that's worth 1000, you sell a 200 dolla protection plan and you got it already. But there are also various install packages and accessories (mouse, keyboard, monitor, printer, router, cables, etc.) Same thing in car audio. Sell a headunit, but also sell the install, ipod adapter, sat. radio, gps, etc. Good luck man! Need any other help let me know and key to gettin hired, tell them what they want to hear.

I found this pretty cool website for some body kits and stuff. Pretty different stuff that I haven't seen before. I'm diggin this hood scoop and sniper kit. I think an order is in my future: LINK Not sure if they have the best pricing. I just like how they have different stuff that bigger name websites don't have.

All of my gains are up, high pass is all the way up, low pass and bass boost is all the way down (for all inputs). I think I will lower the gains on the 6x9s but again I like my loud, clear music. Everyone is saying get rid of 6x9s, but it aint that simple for me. I'm a broke college student (LSU BABY! GO TIGERS!), and when I spend a good chunk of money to get something, I don't want to get rid of it.

Ok, in my Silverado 3 door, I have a problem. The door panels rattle a lot when the bass is hitting. Noticeably enough to affect the listening experience. I fixed the roof problem recently now I want to fix the doors. If the panel itself and not the metal parts are rattling, where would I apply the hushmat/dynamat or whatever or is there a better solution like a foam of some kind to put between the panel and the metal portion. Second my rear windows vibrate a lot when the bass is hitting. Again noticeably enough to affect the sound experience. Is there a way to fix those doors that open out. Sealing them up permanently or tightening them up? What kind of seal could I do around the edges? Just standard automotive seal? SUGGESTIONS?

As far as I know all my speakers are getting equal power (probably not). I can hear my door speakers but can't differentiate them from the back because the shear loudness of the back speakers overwhelms the front 2. I think lowering the gain would fix it but again I need that loud, clear music to match up with my hard hitting bass.

honestly I have no idea, I didn't set up my amp for my highs.

I got my high amp running 6 speakers. I could play with my gains but I like loud clear highs over my deep bass. I was told to get the most out of my amp I could add another set of speakers that's why I was wondering placement in the front of an extra set. I guess I'll go play with the gains for now.

My setup: 22in FTW. Now one thing to remember, you need to have a video card and processor that can handle the higher resolution that the bigger screen demands. If not everything will look like complete garbage. It will be all glitchy and laggy. I used to work at circuit city and although the gateway and samsung 24 in monitors blew my mind, I ended up getting the 22in proview. It was around 250 and it looks really good. Believe me. I also do online gaming and it is nasty. Only thing else you will have problems with is being so close to the monitor and you will find yourself having to move your head around looking at diff parts. Other than that I watch all my movies on it and play all my games on it and it is beautiful.

just curious. all of the other brands (on their websites) list peak power output. Kicker doesn't. So when I saw 5000 and 7500 on ebay I had to raise an eyebrow

I did a little bit of tinkering on ebay having a look at the ZX2500.1 amps. Well, a lot of them say peak at 2 ohm is either 5000 or 7500 watts. As much as I would like to believe that to be the full potential of the amp I bought direct from kicker, the page that was in the box said it's peak rating was only 2530 watts. Since Kicker doesn't list a peak rating on there site and pretty much all the ebay sellers present this high peak rating, what do I believe?

As you can see from my pic to the left I have 4 6x9s basically behind my head (Pioneer Premier REV series). I got them because they were recommended for me for plain loudness. I like to hear my music when the bass is crankin. Now I can hear my music just fine; however, my imaging is completely thrown off. I have a set of 6 1/2s (again Pioneer Premier REV series) in the doors. My question now would be what can I do to level out the imaging. I was thinking of molding a set of tweeters on the dash. A lot of people recommend the q-logic kick panel pods to me, but for the price and location just don't seem like they would work. What can I do to help it out? I was also thinking of doing some custom door panels to add more 6 1/2s and maybe step up to a higher grade speaker like the Kicker SS series. I'm open to anything to fix the imaging.

I got in a 4 car wreck with my truck a few weeks ago. The screws holding the box containing my 4 6x9s snapped from the impact and slid it across the top of my sub box scratching the shit out of my vinyl. I was pissed so bad. Other than that both my bumpers were damaged. Not as bad as these though

Na, I do have experience with tv tuners for desktops. They are worth every penny. Watch and record tv. Basically a cheap tivo. I know my 22in monitor is far better quality than my 27in tube. General rule is the more you spend the more you get. I wouldn't buy from there either, just showing you the products. You can get em much cheaper on sites like newegg.com, tigerdirect.com, and as always ebay

HeHe Circuit City Employee Pricing FTW! lol. I learned a little bit while working there, and I bought A LOT while working there.

There are a couple ways of doing this. One simple way is to get a Tv Tuner for your desktop. They make external and internal tuners. You can pick em up at the local Circuit City or Best Buy. Prolly cheaper online at Newegg.com or tigerdirect.com. Another way is to look into something called a sling box. With sling box you run your basic/digital/or sat. signal through a box connected to your high speed internet. The box then relays whatever is on your tv to an ftp account. Basically what it amounts to is you can view/record/and change channels anywhere you have access to a computer and internet. Lastly if you have a newer monitor, it should have a DVI connection on it as well as VGA. If you have a hi-def cable or sat. box then you can get a dvi to hdmi cord to plug the hdmi into your cable/sat box and dvi into your monitor. By far the best picture and quality here.
