  1. Yeah, it was to the other guy with the outback on SMD.
  2. My box is rather on the small side due to the amount of power I'm giving the woofers. Wouldn't that help eliminate rise?
  3. Okay, thanks n8. I'm curious as to why though? Just not worth the risk? its just gonna protect cause of low ohm load. plus if you blow it, you're stuck with a $400 repair bill or an expensive ass paper weight Youre totally right. I guess I'll just accept that my amps have a small footprint. It's a daily driver system, so I'm not going to even worry about rise.
  4. I know Maybe if these woofers decide to take a dump (doubtful) ill recone with the d4 version
  5. Okay, thanks n8. I'm curious as to why though? Just not worth the risk?
  6. Hey guys, I was reading a thread about a member of this site not having voltage drop when it was evident that voltage drop should be present. I have a Rockford t1000-1bdcp on my two sa-8 v1.5 along with my mbquart 4.125. My electrical consists of a very small stinger agm up front and stock alt, big 3, 0/1 all around My amp is currently wired to 2 ohms nominal but I have literally .1 voltage drop while driving. Amps are set at -5 with dd-1. Theoretically, I should have around 150 amps of draw with my 90amp alt. I UNDERSTAND I HAVE THE CP MODEL. But if rise is so high that I'm in the 4ohm rage, it shouldn't make a difference. Should I drop to .5ohm?
  7. It could either sound really bad, or really good depending on installation.
  8. I wonder how impedence rise would come into play with this amp. I guess if you're wired to 1ohm rise would be your friend.. Lol
  9. Not a problem dude, good luck. Have your buddy go get some MDF are start going crazy. We already picked it up the other day! Talk about being prepared
  10. Awesome! Mind posting a screen shot of Torres?
  11. I figure the same thing. This guy really isn't into lows at all, that's my I assume he wants the higher tuning. He just wants a daily box that sounds better than his current prefab. I'll post demensions in a bit.
  12. It's going into a montero. I totally forgot to ask him the usable space in the vehicle. Fail on my part. At least I know what the recommended specs are now though! Thanks!
  13. So a buddy of mine really wants to make a custom enclosure for his 10's. We even drove and picked up wood yesterday. But when it comes to an enclosure design for him, I'm lost. He wants something tuned in the 37-38 range that will have a pretty flat response. Can anyone help me with a design? Subs are Kenwood kfc-w2512. I don't even know the recommended specs for these woofers.. Edit- demensions are 18h, 29w, 18 depth
  14. More power than what?
  15. Alright, just finished rewriting everything and it's actually not to shabby Thanks for the motivation guys!
  16. Thanks guys, you've inspired me to rewire my subwoofer Just a PITA because it's so damn heavy and the gasket is so hard to fit in the flush mount.
  17. Well that's what I've been doing so far. 2 channels on the sub, two on the door speakers. From what I've read, this amp is 4ohm stable bridged.. I'm just so lazy that I don't want to take the subwoofer out unless I know for a fact that it will increase the output/ safety because I've got the shok 2.5k coming in on the 2nd.
  18. I'm ampless ATM. As a temporary replacement, I have my sub at .7 ohm on a channel of my mb quart 4.125. Is it popping into protect because of the low impedance? Would it be louder wired in series even though I'm managing to get away with playing at low gain?? (the Amp stays on with the gain at about 30% but gets wicked hot)
  19. I swear you change your mind every day man.
