I got everything in with some old amps I had and I think I need moar power. I have heard good things about the Hifonics amps so I am leaning towards them. If I were to run the 1700 x 1 at 1ohm and the 8 0 x 4, what kind of electrical upgrades would I need? If possible, I'd like to only run one battery since I don't really have room in the back for a second. Any thoughts on what kind of electrical stuff I would need to do to support those amps? Thoughts on those specific amps? Thanks!

The sub amp is way underpowered for this setup but they do great for what they are. I'm hoping to upgrade the electrical (battery, 0 gauge possibly alt ect) then switch the amps out for maybe some Sundowns or something. I would swap them out now but the electrical shit is as expensive as the amps themselves. lol The subs are really only moving half their excursion but they're still hammering pretty hard. I wonder what they'd sound like if they were driven hard. But yeah, I'd had that 604x for close to 10 years now and I still love it. 403a is a new addition.

I'll check it out. I'm always up for new beats. I dig some Jeezy here and there but he has to be the worst lyricist out right now south of Rick Ross. -

Nod/rap. Don't care what people think. I can't hear them complain anyways. -

Can I just use the Duralast for $100 or do I need a Kinteic 1800? I didn't think I was running that much juice. Just do the big 3 and new runs to the amps and no battery for now and see what happens? I'm trying to get a game plan together for this next week. Thanks! -
Hey guys. I recently peiced together a system from some amps I had laying around. I do some polishing and paint correction on the side and just used my little side fund to bankroll it. I tried to keep as much cargo room as possible since I have a family and technically, this is our family vehicle. I got a general idea for how I wanted the box and attempted to keep it as short as possible leaving room for luggage ect. I used the Torres Box Calculator and with some help from a few guys here, got it sized and tuned. I got most of the way done and decided to change up the amp rack to the back instead of the front. I had originally planned on stacking the amps, long bridged over short but once I got that far, didn't like it. Box is birch to save weight. Double baffle with flushed subs. 3, 4" X 17" aero ports tuned to 34hz. My first ported box and I am quite impressed with the sound. I built a few boxes back in the day but it has been quite a while and the rust showed in a couple spots. Overall I am very happy with it and it is a lot louder than I had planned. So anyways, without further ado, here's the pics. I'll get some pics of head unit and some video later today. Hope you enjoy!

Check the ground from the installers. Pretty lame. Sanded the rest of the way around the ground and reclamped it with the nut. Seems to have helped a bit. This where to ground the alt? I had my battery checked. Its the original from 07. 650 amp. Scoped out all my new grounds. Does the battery just need to go to the frame? There's a spot just behind where those braces meet that has a couple 1/4" holes I was thinking about using. Also priced just a Duralast Platinum 750. Think that would be sufficient with the new grounds front and back? -

No he is trying to say that you need 1/0 for a 2ft ground run and 150a'ish of draw to get rid of your dimming. 1/0 is always "better", but its capacity is well beyond what you need. If you plan on upgrading in the future and have the money do it in 1/0, if not 4g is fine as you have a max draw around 150a which is what most 4g can do at 8-12' and your stock wiring is already 4g afaik. Have your battery tested and do the big 3 in either 4g or 1/0, just don't buy it local you will get ripped off (go to Knukoncepts or the like) My only concern is the ground block is 4ga inlet. I considered doing a 4 ga and a couple 8ga even and just doing an "all holes filled" on that ground block. Tomorrow morning I am going to crawl under there and see what I'm dealing with. In the meantime, besides some dimming lights is anything in extreme danger? Like keep it completely off danger or no slamming danger? -

I followed the ground down to a post under the drivers side rear seat. Sanded and tight. I'll post a pic later tonight. Seems solid but the bolt may not really go anywhere. I can't tell yet. -

The 150 is the ANL up front then split to two 60amp in the fuse block at the back. Thanks for the info. I'll check out those vids as soon as I get home! Off the top of your head, you know where I can possibly find a grommeted hole through the floor? I was thinking about checking the bottom of the trunk well and maybe under the rear seats. Sorry if you answered this already. I'm checking I'm from my phone at work. -

I'm not really sure to be honest. That was my next thing to look at too. I have had this 604x since I bought it new in 2001 running it in multiple cars including my little 4cyl Sonoma and it has never dimmed lights before. It never struck me as a crazy current draw. I plan on doing the big 3 ASAP. I was reading up on it. That body ground at the back seemed odd to me though. I would think an SS would have enough alternator to push that system. -
