ive never ran it cause i was afraid it would get sucked up into the pole vent or spider vents but it seems logical i guess and if i was to run a ported box n live ina cold climate, will this help keep the low temp air from blowin out of the port n freezin ur ass off when its wangin?

how do i take a logo offf of a dustcap
tacomabanga1986 replied to ficaraudio789's topic in Subwoofers / Enclosures
why would u want to take the logo off of it? american bass is a good brand, why u wanna hide it? -
oh ya i forgot what do u have wired to the amp? and what ohm load? i think the kx1500.1 is a 2ohm stable amp http://www.woofersetc.com/p4190/ZX15001--K...s-Amplifier.htm ya 2ohm stable, if u had it wired to 1ohm that could be ur problem right there, i kno ppl have ran these at lower than 2ohm loads n it be fine but u never kno, theres always that variable in everything and make sure ur speaker wires aint shorted at amp or power n ground wires frayed out at terminals and make sure u have a good ground at the amp and was it working good yesterday?
-
do u shut off the headunit befor u turn off the ignition key? that could do it cause most ppl just leave there stereo on n up were they had it the day befor n when they get in there in the moring n it starts up n starts wangin all of a sudded could do it im not saying thats what caused it but it could be a idea to throw in there and what kinda amp is it that ur running so we can give an example as if ur electrical is good enough for it?
-
haha, that would make a twisted video game n that video wierd as hell
-
oooh, the lil bolt came loose from the terminal? hell ied drill a hole in that bitch n run a 1/8'' bolt threw it n just bolt it back with a nut n be done with it if nothings wrong with it not worth the hassle of takein it loose n shit, just unscrew the other bolt, drill a hole threw terminal the same size as the one already in basket, run a bolt n washer threw the terminal to the basket n then put a washer n nut on top side of basket n should fix ur problem mang
-
if that shit dnt work n u dnt want to do new terminals u can do it the way i did on my old mtx 8000 15 the terminal piece were u soilder the wire to wasnt worth a shit anymore so u just cut the tinsel lead n soldered on some speaker wire to the tinsel lead n just taped it to the side n never had a problem with it sence n that u have woven tinsels u would have a problem with em moveing n pullin loose heres a pic of how it looks now, n it takes me about 1hr to take my subs out to fix em due to my downfire box i halfto take out seats n once i got it fixed it fuked up again so i did it this way n wala works, not the prittyest job but it works n has no affect on how the sub sounds cone at rest cone fully pushed up how it looks all done n my sub the only reason i did this was due to the fact that mtx doesnt make these anymore n would not fix em for me so this was my only option, n only took maby 15min n $5 to fix hope this helps, this can be a last resort if u need it to be maby u can take off the terminal n run some 8guage wire threw it n soilder it to the tinsels kinda like digital designs does to there subs, worked fine for them for yrs so i dnt see why it wouldn't for any other company
-
haha got any layin around u wanna get rid of? or any old mtx stuff for that matter n chosen were u from in nc?
-
wait i found one on ebay, is this a good deal or no? http://cgi.ebay.com/MTX-Thunder-1501D-Amp-...=item3efaa80ae9 n i was told by a local mtx dealer that these could do 2000rms @2ohm with a good 14.4 charging system i wonder if 750rms on my old 8000's would be to much or not, i dnt want to blow em but my memphis pr1000.1 makes em move pritty damn good with only 400rms goin to each
-
the 81000d i think was the thunder 8000 series 1000w amp n i missed the old mtx 1501d's, i want one for my mtx 8000's but cant seem to find any, a guy was sellin one on here a yr back i think for $220 but i didn't kno if it was a good deal or not but those 1501d's are a beast and was the 81000d's strapable?
-
haha ed must have liked mtx too how did those rfls work out for u? n thats a sweet setup, what kinda numbers did u get out of both of em? n were u at in nc?
-
some guy on here did a setup with 2 of these n said they didn't sound that good on music but i unno they have one of these at the local pawnshop for $250 and either the spiders are stiff as hell or it was blown and to my understanding this was made for burps but will play music also, kinda like how the ddz is, hella stiff suspention, the fs is prolly in the 40's or somethin i always wanted one but i never got around to gettin one ive ran damn nere every series of mtx subs they made n i love mtx's products this vid kinda shows what im tryin to type, a hella high fs or speaker resonate frequency helps a sub get louder at a higher freq and helps in spl comps, but sucks on music but then theres this vid that kinda disproves but i dunno if its a sign sweep or an actual song being played name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>"> name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350">all in all every mtx product ive had an lived up to its expectations and sound good too, but if ur lookin for a loud daily car i unno if this sub will work for u, but for comps ya, but ied get it to try it out anyways

i got mine fixed n i asked my plumbing teacher n he said it looked legit to him n i got osha training the 14-15th of december n i can add that to my resume but ya im gettin into residential but im only in level 1 now, n level 2 has a going green type setup to go with it so that will be a lil different

ied try this set up, about the same price n should be better equipment also amp = http://www.woofersetc.com/p6401/KAC8104D--...t-Amplifier.htm sub = http://www.woofersetc.com/p2848/DS12D4--Di...l-Subwoofer.htm ive heard that kenwood amp is good, n diamond subs are pritty good also that system will be prolly less cost wise n should sound alot better too ive personally heard 2 of these http://www.woofersetc.com/p6394/TSSW301--P...t-Subwoofer.htm on a mtx 1501d n they hit lows pritty good n got pritty loud also in a small box if i was u ied make the box liek a downfire but face it twards the back of the cab n give the sub around 2'' of recess legs n u can angle the back of the box to conture with the seat n mount the amp on other side n should be good to go if u have it faceing seat u'll have issues with cone surround rubbing n what knot but the rear faceing downfire type box could n should yeald better output, ive heard a setup with that pioneer 12 like this n it sounded pritty good n u'll have no worries with seat hittin sub heres a vid of that pioneer in action to give u an idea name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>"> name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350"> name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>"> name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350">
