well i useto aquire alot of music a while back till my hd screwed up and lost over 13,000 songs i had and most of those was coppys of orignals i baught and loaded onto the pc and took me about 5 or 6 yrs to obtain but anywho, can u get an external hd to work off a headunit? cause i was thinkin bout gettin a 500gb external hd and hook it up to the headunit i was thinkin bout the new pioneer 9800 or somethin with usb input, will this work ive heard alot about it befor but didn't kno if it was possable or not, on my internal 200gbhd i had around 13,700 songs give or take a few and only took up 80gb if that but the ipod feature takes to long to go threw to find songs, will a usb be faster or no? im only askin this here cause this is kinda the same question as his and dont want to open up a new topic and sorry to thread jack

well im in the same boat but my amps have fans in em and just my a/b amp gets hot, and its not enclosed so how would i go about cooling it, get one of those stinger cross flow fans and put beside it? i just want em to run cool in teh summer and when it gets winter i'll just unplug them or untill i need em again

well ive seen this done befor but cant u wire one coil to one channel and one coil to another, ive done it befor with my old orion 2nt and it worked fine, that will give 250rms each coil @4ohm 2ch, and aint these and the 6002 the really efficent ones that ive seen pics of with like 8 12's and 6 6x9's hooked to it?

my first subs was thump 10's from the pawnshop, then i got a set of radioshack pro series 12's, then traded those for a set of kicker comp 10's, then got me a set of mtx 4000 10's(these things was acually pritty loud), then got a set of mtx 4000 12's, then a set of mtx 4000 15's, then a set of rockford fostgate punch hx2 12's, then mtx 4500 15's, then traided those for a set of mtx 5500 15's, and now have mtx 8000 15's and dwright27 i got a jl w0 12 and a w0 10 what would u sujest would be a good box for em? i got the w0 12 in my jeo ina i think 2cf ported box at 45htz and it sounds good off my majestic 300w 2ch, but i think i can get more out of it, and i got a kicker 8'' sub old ass speaker, and a mtx roadthunder 10, lol this hobbie is addicting as hell, i love my music tho, oh and someweres around i had a orion 2nt 15 dual 4, and mtx 6000 15's, damn i buy to many subs to think of it, shit now i kno were all my money goes to now lol umm and back in the day i had an old ass radio shack reolistic 8'' dual 4 sub to and a pyramid 8 to

lol i guess im the only one that gets the hook up, i get baltic birch 3/4 13ply 4x8 sheet for $10 a sheet, my dad works at a lumber company and i get my shit on the low, but they sell it for $30 here and it dont splinter one bit, just put u a chip breaker under the burch and it wont splinter, we just got done buildin some cabnets for some ppl and if that bitch was made from mdf ied half to use the floorclift to pick it up but that birch is light as hell, my box is made from 13ply 3/4 and my amp rack is made from 11ply 1/4'', birch is the shit and not only if u want to carpet u can also stain it, or get some birch veneere and put down the ends and the box will look like it doesnt stop, i work at a furniture factory and useto repare furniture so i kno lil tricks of the trade on how to get it to look purdy, but anyways birch is alot stronger and less waight han mdf hands down, it might cost more but u get what u pay for, birch ftmfw , ps i wonder how much lighter the kaddy would be if made from birch?

i got a sealed down fire box in my truck and i dont kno were a termlab is close by to meter my system, i want to see what im doin now cause to the ear its loud and clean but i still think i can get more but im only lookin at 800wrms@2ohm but im thinkin bout gettin a kicker 1250 to mush my 8000's and use my memphis 1000 to push my 5500's but l dont kno if i can run my 8000's ported or not, ive always used sealed boxs till i got my prefab ported for my old rockford punch hx2 12's and that shit wanged but ina sealed box sounded like shit, i wanna do ported but dont kno how to tune a port, but i get pritty loud with a sealed box but ive heard subs can handle more power with sealed boxs than they can with a ported, is this cause the speaker wave depends on the port tuneing so when it gets above or below that freq it will bottom out? anyways sealed boxs sound good with almost all kinds of music but ported gets better lows tho, anyways good luck to who evers runnin sealed

they quit makein the 8000's in like 02 i think so i unno if they got dustcaps or not, my cuzin sold me a set of mtx 6000 15's and one of em the cone was busted were when his friend got ina reck the amp came off the box and busted the speaker and i ca glued it back to gether and it worked fine then, i unno if they got dustcaps in stock still, and if so ied like a set of recones if they got em cause on one of em the tincels broke and i had to soilder it 3 times for it to stay, but not to go to far off topic, do you only sell black ca glue or do u have clear also?

if i may ask a question to not make a new thread, on one of my mtx 8000 15's one of the dust caps are cracked, is there any way of takeing it off with out hurting the cone so when i ca glue it back it will be as good as new? sry to thread jack i might be interested in this stuff to build with, plus i might use some to fill in my holes in my sail panels and sand em down real smooth like so, and with ca glue it wont set up being shipped will it or it only sets up when comein in contact with air?

lol, thats like my buddy i useto go to school with, he had a sony 444w amp with stranded house electrical 12guage wire ran to the amp from the front battery not fused anyweres "said if somethin shorted out the fuse in the amp will stop it from doin anything" and his shit was pure distortion and still wouldn't listen, and the last time i seen him he had a pritty kewl lookin jvc headunit but he was playin em threw factory speakers "witch sounded like they was blown" he was like, tell me what u think i got in here, and he turned it up and i could hear every speaker in that car bottom out and i thought i was gunna smell smoke and i was laughin inside at it and i was like, i unno what u got in there and hes like its factory and im like koo sounds good, and walked away

ied put a piece of 3/4'' acrilic or plexi glass on top of that bitch and put some lights on the inside cause that box is fukin sex, i always wanted to try a 6th order bandpass but never figured out how to port yet, ive always ran sealed boxs, i bet that shits gunna wang, and do u tune the inner ported box low and outer one high or vica versa? i wanna try one with my mtx 6000 8's

i think the door kit is $20 at circuit city, is the door kit enulf to do both parts or just the inner frame, and is it enulf for one door or 2?

it aint that hard to put in is it? and does it go on back of the inside of the door or both top and bottom sides like the sheat metal and what the speaker ataches to?

like when i put in my 6&1/2s i had to make a lil ring cause the factory is 6&3/4 and they sent me 6&1/2s instead cause they was out of stock and these was newer and i had to make a ring so when i took my pod thing out its got a hole in the back side kinda like its a baffle and i was wondering could i get one of those dynamat door kits and just cover over this hole in the back side and seal it off from the door itself or will i halfto deadin the intire door, and if so how much cause nothings deadned in my truck and its pritty air tight i just want better mids

im not sure were to post this but i have a question, when i get bored sometimes i like to listen to just my mids n highs and when i turn my subs off they sound good but when i get home and the truck stops moveing they soud better than while moveing, will sound deading help this or no? and if it will were should i put it, how my speakers go in the door it has its own little pocke and i was thinkin about covering the hole and sealing up the speaker in its own little pod thing so its away from the door, u think this will work? i got kicker ks 6&1/2 componits with 1in titainium tweets and in the back kicker ks 6&1/2 coax wired to a memphis 150.2 @ 2ohm and it sounds pritty good but both sets of speakers say they can play down to 30htz but i dont kno what to xover them at to get above what my subs play so i dont halfto change the freq of my subs when i listen to rock or country?
