my buddy had 2 hifonics subs and the baskets had this extra plastic on them that was just for looks. That exrta peice would rattle sooo loud it was ridiculous. he learn from his mistakes he new has 2 rockford fosgate p3 12"s. dont waste your money on off brand subs its not worht the time or money.

What do you have it wired to? Edit after lookin up the amp I guess unless you have it wired really low it doesn't matter.

after displacement, i figured out after words i could throw a 2500 on it i may upgrade later.

i have 2 dc audio lvl 4 18's. my box is going to be 14 cuft is that good enough or should i cut it down to 12 cuft.

I tossed the 4 smd way out of my range at this time. Im really looking for 18s. How bout them re audio in my last post are those aby good.

what do you guys have to say about RE Audio SX18D2? is that too big of a step or not. btw im not completely new to subs right now i have 3 12"s off brands at about 700 rms? ish and i once had 2 18s at about 300rms each nothing big but i thought i set the stage a bit to show where im at.

alright, i drive a 95 ford explorer. right away i have about 500 bucks but i plan to buy over time. i am pretty knowledgeable about car audio. but i have never taken a car audio test =0.

yah exactly i dont have quite that much lying around so i need to scale it down. alot. but i still want it to be loud.

uh i put better i meant different... i'm crazy i don't know what i'm stepping into. i want good loud bass. but 4g in subs maybe isnt my best step.

4 might have been ill referenced, as for right now i dont have enought electical backing for them but i was just asking what amps can support these monsters. also im not stupid when it comes down to speakers and wiring if i were going to buy them i would double double check every thing. i was looking at dc audios but was wondering if any one had any thing better ok okay sloooowwww down folks i didnt say i was jumping straight to it jeez

Yesterday day i had it all planned out i came on here told the plan and i was rudely shot down. So i changed my game completely. In stead of using off brand subs i went straight to name brand. I'm planning on smd series 18"s and need help finding a proper amp. any one have any ideas that could power 4?

im using multiple amps i plan to upgrade to better grade stuff but at the moment im a colledge student i dont have a lot of cash. i asked how to build the box not if i should use these subs im using a pyrimad 2000w amp. if i can find some cheapish subs that are better id go for it

Hello every one im new to these forums and i need some box help im going to by 4 18" and build a box for them. i drive a 95 ford explorer the trunk space can only get up to 17.32 cubic feet(including port and woofer displacement) this comes down to 4.32 cubic feet per woofer. the box is tuned at 33 hz im buying pyrimad 18" 1k rms 4 ohms is that going to work well. and sound good?
