  1. I only run my SA-12 on a modest few hundred (around 300-350) watts. I do have a few high powered amps, but never got round to upgrading my cars charging system to make it feasible to install them. Hands up, this is more about curiosity. I'm more and SQ person, and even the SA that I have is far too much for what I would want to use everyday .... but then I think; this could be a lot of fun ... and I need to do something with those amps, one of them being a Ground Zero http://www.ground-zero-audio.com/en/products/amplifiers_/gzua-2250dx.html As for the Sundown's, I wouldn't mind getting my hands on the X-8's. Never tried the SA-8 .. never had the need to what with my SA-12 in hand, but my thinking is 'scaling down from a 12" to an 8" or 2 x 8's, without sacrificing output/fun' In my dreams and I think my limit would be the X or Z 10..... but in the real world the SA-12 scares me enough! So the likes of the 'Nightshade' and 'Team Series' should only be used at the top end of the scale ... serious competing, is that what you're saying?
  2. Can someone please tell me the real world difference between the Nightshade, Z & X series subs in real world applications and when and where you would or wouldn't use them? Much as I love my SA-12 and E-10, to a layman, I can't 'see' much of a difference bar power ratings and design changes to facilitate such performance.
  3. Question: How long did your friend leave it until he knew something wasn't right? ... and I thought my little set up was bad, but I didn't spend (blow) anywhere near $5,000 on my install. But this has inspired me to get on and finally do my kick panel install properly (slap wrists). Don't get me wrong, I cut corners .. using good quality electrical tape instead of heat shrink etc, and I'm currently trying to patch up a blown Morel tweeter (coax's) by buying a pair of Vifa's, and (for the time being) I'm going to have to hook it up to the Morel crossovers, but that's out of necessity until I figure out a long term plan. But again, I'm not charging some guy a huge amount of cash to do that, and I certainly wouldn't dream of hooking up the Vifa's onto the Morel like that
  4. I'd head on over to the pwkdesigns forum and ask Pete. He's done a lot with DD, he might know a thing or two.
  5. So there is no change between the old version and the new version?
  6. The usual .. the T/S parameters please! SojiaRaggs9000 has given the parameters for the M1 just wanted to know if the DC is better suited for me than the Sundown SA8 V2! Currently running DD's, but I'd like to give these little monsters a go. Although the bank manager has put the blockers on for the time being I'll have a good bit of money to spend soon.
  7. No. Those are the Euro prices. For prices, please send me a PM and I will be glad to help you out. I just need a bit of info. I can't find anything.
  8. Is there a link to any info on the 8"? I can't find a thing. The UK dealer told me The 8 m2 sound better than the Sundowns. Any opinions? http://www.matrix-audio.co.uk/pricing/67-dc-audio-2012-uk-srp-list-
  9. I guess my second question is: any ... low cost amp with SSF options that you'd reccomend?
  10. (UK) Poster. After a lot of thought and a lot of questions on various forums, and now I'm ready to buy and build an enclosure. I'm really, really interested in the DC 8 m2 sub. For some reason I'm prefering the 'sound' from my 8's to my 12's, so i thought I'd have a go on something serious (DC 8 m2). Planning to have a twin 8 set up, however for now I'll start with one. Question: Do i need a D class amp with a subsonic filter for either a ported or T-line box?
