  1. i didnt expect it to flex bit it did and it sounded bad so i redid the box with the amp mouted on top and the subs facing the rear... test fit tire test fit MA Audio COM 1 big ol amp 6 channel 3500 watts 41.5" long and 13.5 wide 60+ knobs pain in the but to tune.
  2. That rearview mirror was nonthing my malibu i jb welded mine and it still fell off. dam i miss that car. i called it the MALIBOOM
  3. My box is 40x18x11 now so thake that and divide it by 1728 gives me 4.583cu^ft. i have them firing up thru a blowthru with my amp mounted on the back. all i habe to do is put two 2" spacers under the back of the box and it will allow me to get to my spare tire. the car in question is a 1994 toyota camry. i have also purchased 2 sets of clif designs 60.4 components. just waiting for them to come in. i will have pics later this week or early next week.
  4. I just purchased 2 sets of Clif Designs 60.4 Components and am completley redoing my system (last car DIED). I was wondering if it would be a good idea to build some type of enclosure around the mids mounted in the rear deck since my subs are locatde undeneath them. I dont want to blow the voice coil with my twelves. also is a blow thru that is 4.5" x 13" X .75" good enuff or should i open it up some more? I will try and post some pics as soon as I can. my box is 3.832 cubes Also I was wondering if it is possible to use coaxial (tv) cable to make rca cables??? My new system will consist of 4 - 6.5" clif designs 60.4 4 - 28mm tweets 2 - 12" kicker Comps 4 ohm 1 - Com1 Command Center 6 Channel Amp
  5. My amp is stable at 1ohm and yes I ment db. and I still can run the rest of my mids and highs off of the same amp. This amp has two power supplies one for the four channel and one for the subs. Well I have decided to go with just 2 subs and my enclosure is 3.958cubes minus the subs. Now should I cut the rear deck out and face the subs into the seat so I will have a place to mount my amp on the back of the box (amp is 42" long) or not cut the rear deck and face backeard and mount the amp on the floor. i want to have access to my spare tire and a lil trunk room. This car will also be for getting grocreys. i guess the main question is nonthing more than which way should they fire and should i cut the rear deck out.
  6. I was fixing my wifss car when mine went from a maliboom to a maliblew. anyways i now have her old car nd she got the new ride. (trade off was i could do what ever) so i am looking to remove my old system which cinsist of 2 kicker comp 12's, MA Audio com 1 6 channel amp i know i will have to replace the rest of the mid and highs but i want to keep the subs. i have a box design that is 4.3125 cubes and want to put three kickers in it facong the rear. i was wondering if anybody has any better ideas i want this thing to hurt when you get in it. i would like to get about 144+htz out of a sealed box. if not sealed then what ar the port calcs
  7. ok thats sim to what i thought. i figured that the opening was goning to be to large. Now can i put the port on the side of the box. the box is designed to be a downfire with the bottom being 11.75" back is 8.25" and the top is 7.75" width is 49" these are the inside dims. my airspace is just around 2.3 when factoring in the subs displacement. could i put the ports on the side of the box. reason i am asking is i always heard that it was better to have the ports on the same side as the subs. if not what would be the dims for a vent. i am also running 2 subs in one box no divider. i want this to hit hard and low please help. remember the required port is 4"dia X 18" L. any input is welcome i can build the heck out of sealed boxes but ported and vented are my problem....
  8. why will that not work. i have an idea but want to be sure.
  9. I have a set of Robot underground subs (dimond subs dont ask) but they require a port thats 4" dia x 18" L. could i but the port into 3 6" lengths and acheive the same thing?
  10. i just got a audiocontrol eql. and now i'm looking to get an audiocontrol 4xs so i can connect the eql to all channels of my jbl 755 6 channel
  11. I WAS JUST GIVE AN AUDIOCONTROL EQL. AND AND WAS WONDERING IF I COULD PUT IT BETWEEN MY RADIO AND EQ. OR AFTER THE EQ AND IN FRONT OF THE AMP... A REALLY PLAN ON USING IT FOR MY SUBS. ANY SUGGESTIONS PLEASE COMMENT.
  12. Can I run the Kicker C12 in isobaric (face to face amd flip the polarity of the outside speaker (+ to -) (- to +). Please let me know. if not I'll be building the fiberglass box real soon since i now have the 2 of them. also the only thing i dont like about the speakers I got is that has a different face than the other....
  13. After doing some reasearch I am going to build a Box that will house two kicker 12" svc 4 ohm subs wired in parallel for that 2 ohm load. All I need to do is get off my ass and build some speaker rings and go and get the resin, fiberglass, and frabic. I saw a box bone once that looked like a blob which I thought look cool so i'm going for something simular. If the one sub I have in my car now can be heard about a 1/4 mile away (I kinda live off the main highway in the country), I think two will be killer. Also my brother was bumping is Nissan Crew Cab with a custom built box for two 8" punch which are rear facing and a punch 150 and he could hear me pulling up to him in traffic and with is windows up. I like the way my setup sounds now cause I get almost the same response and feel with the rear seats up as I do with them down. I plan on building my new box in a month or so I have to take care of a couple of things, but I'll post some pictures soon of my current setup..... Dont forget that I built it in a matter of a half hour. It will look cleaner once I add the other puppy....
  14. I JUST DECIDED ONE NIGHT TO REMOVE THE SPARE TIRE AND BUILD A BOX USING THAT AREA. DAMN IT HITS HARD AND LOW TOO. I NEED TO REINFORICE IT BUT I'LL DO THAT WHEN I GET MY DVC 12" KICKER COMP. PUTTING MY AMP AT 2 OHMS... THE BOX IS ABOUT 2.5 CUBIC FT. DID I MENTION IT HIT LOW. MAKES MY CHEST HURT. ALL I NEED NOW IS A KICKER KX3 AND A KICKER 400.4.
  15. I have a SONY XPLODE 4 channel 600watt amp for sale for $50.00 plus shipping this price is firm but i will trade for a Kicker KX3 Active Electronic Crossover with the remote level control. email me at [email protected] sony_xplode.jpg_thumb
  16. I have a lanzar 251 1600 watt amp for sale 175 obo and the 175 includes shipping... I will trade for a ZX350.4 from Kicker email me at [email protected] lanzar_1600.jpg_thumb
  17. at this time i cant do anything regarding the box. me and my wife were walking out of a motorcycle shop when some old dude jumped the curb and struck us. no broken bones just some pulled muscles and messed up knees... I have to wait till this summer to complete my install. WE WERE HIT BY A TRAILBLAZER...
  18. THIS IS MY PLAN SHOULD I PORT THE BOX CAUSE I WOULD LIKE SOME SPL AND SQ IF I CANT HAVE BOTH I WANT SPL..... ALSO I WANT THE SPEAKERS FACING THE REAR SEAT. CAUSE I HAVE PLANS FOR THE REST OF THE TRUNK. LIKE USING IT... SPEAKER_BOX.pdf
  19. I want to know what kind of box would be the best to build for my malibu. I have 2 - 12" kicker 4 ohm svc and a kicker 300.1 amp thats 2 ohm stable. I will be addind a kx3 crossover and a 400.4 amp for the kicker mids and highs. I would like a box that allows the sound to carry into the car without having to fold down the rear seats, and would allow access to that thing gm calls a spare tire. I have built several boxes but I want this to be the best one. I can work with wood, mdf, fiberglass, bondoglass , etc. I have been doing wood working fot the past 15 years and car audio for the last 12 and paint and body work for the last 15 years also. off and on. So I know a lot but not enuff. I do know that iIwould like to port the box thru the rear deck which I plan on glassing and painting to match the car. I also do ACAD if that helps for sending drawings if you design them that way. Steve Meade pleas help......
