It's a magazine not a clip FYI. Also find a pistol that drops the magazine freely because it's a PITA when they don't.

I have had multiple Macs and I still drink the koolaid. If I was you I would do a complete restore. that way you have nothing on it and only move over what you MUST have. Also as its a laptop make sure to turn the bluetooth off, the backlit keyboard off, and the screen turned down. There are a bunch of tips and tricks just search around.
