take it from welding class and say you need it for "extra curricular activities" haha really tho... no im serious. ive bought aluminum through school cuz of the lower price and no tax. so im in welding i might be able to work something out with the admins and buy some.we have 15 arcs 6 tigs and 10 migs. we have cable to spare...

need about 6ft for big 3 and 20ft ish for amp. so 30ft for some spare? cuz im on welding supply and thats running me $100 with shipping unless im able to buy it through my school welding class

so just run 1/0 for whole system and just trim it where needed? like at amp? and just tape it up so its not exposed?

going to start my build in the next month or so. wondering what brand of subs wires and power cables to get. Is Absolute Power any good? on sonicelectronix they had a 50ft spool of 2awg ofc for $60. they also have a 20ft rool of superflex for $40. i was wondering if would be good or could i go to welding cable at $1.74 a foot since i shouldnt need more than 25ft. and as far as wires from amp to subs what should i be looking at? any help is greatly appreciated

Ok I found for sure. Alt is 136A and battery is 750Ah only thing my truck runs tho is the hu/speakers and the amp. So still battery? And would 1700 wired at 4 work good enough?

I'm going to start my build soon. I will be getting a hifonics brutus1700. It will power a fi bl18. I'm wondering if I will need to get a battery since I have 0 ways of checking my voltage. Vehicle is 97 dodge dakota 5.2L magnum. Im not sure but I believe it has a 120 or 140 amp alt. not sure about battery under hood. Its tucked behind to much crap to un bolt it and get it out to find it right now. But will I need a second battery with this set up?

Wait tho. The dual 2 has a rms of 1000w? The dual 1 has a rms of 1500w? So how would that work? Our is it easier to go dual 2 with brz 1200.1d wired at 1 ohm to get 1200 rms

I went with the 1ohm because it had a higher rms of 1500 instead of the 1000 of the 2 ohm and the 1 ohm I was going to run it with the brutus at 1700 rms at 1 ohm. Unless its a better idea to run the 2ohm sub at its rated 1000w onthe brutus at 1000w @ 2 ohm?? To the options I planned on the hyper pole and cooling. The flat wind didn't seen that good for me but will it help? And what about the internal lead? I read the tech page but it wasn't all on there. And should I do universal coils???

ok ive been looking for a while and ive narrowed down to aq hdc418 or hdc318 aluminum\copper coil(which one?) or fi.bl 18, all the 12s im looking at beside aq and fi are to far out of price range. but if someone thinks i should go 12s let me know. as far as amp the hifi brutus elite 2k or brutus 1.2k/2.1k or aq 1.2k/2.2k and for wire is 50ft knu kfk good?
