  1. What exactly is a bass cube? I've always wondered about this. What kind of enclosure are they considered? What makes a sub a good candidate for one? What exactly do you wanna go for as far as planning and building one?
  2. That was one excuse for me not wanting to wall, but I figure since I like my rear view so much I'll just put a monitor in it's place with a camera on the back. Problem solved.
  3. He just said that was the peak they got. I think he got a 55 on music on the video I posted.
  4. Never man, never. Like I said, I would love to just sit in their shop and learn shit. Kenny is a really cool guy. I'm not too fond of the other owner. He's a;right, but he's the one that comes off really pushy about "This is what you should use" and whatnot.
  5. Maybe I overreacted on the flex thing, but I'm still tickled fuckin' pink. I feel insignificant now.
  6. Are you referring to a lifted stick shift Toyota with big ass Vibe logos all over it?
  7. I'm not sure what they call it. I know it is no fuckin' joke man. Man, I'd love to just sit in their shop and learn some shit for awhile. They do some damn good installs. On of the subs actually blew when the bass hit during my demo. The entire spider and most of the cone came disconnected from the basket.
  8. If you live around the Western side of Ga, you've probably heard of a shop called Revolution Kustomz. I went by there to get a fuse for my girl's install, and remembered that I had always seen the giant orange Toyota truck that's one of the owner's and had always wanted a listen. I decided to go for it and asked for a demo. I'm not sure on all the technical stuff, but I believe everything in it is Vibe audio. It did have 12 12s in it before they did a rebuild, but now it has 18 10s in a four order wall. It was fucking amazing. He played a boosted version of "In the Air Tonight" for me. It had a little rumble towards the beginning, which made me slowly turn my had and look in the port at the speakers. To this he laughed and said, "Oh no, it gets better." Around then the bass hit. I almost jumped out of my seat, and all I could say was "HOLY SHIT! OH MY GOD!" over and over. I kid you not, he has around 6 inches of dash flex in that thing. I wish I had gotten a video, but didn't think about it til afterwards. Oh yeah, I haven't even gotten to the best part yet. I thought I got a 150+ demo. Nope. I asked him what the TL gave it. He said they broke the last build's record at 164.8db at 37hz. I might have gotten a fucking 160+ demo as my first big build demo. Ho. Lee. Shit.
  9. I feel like such a noob right now.... But how do you aim headlights? My passenger side low beam is way off in left field. I've never attempted to fix it, but it's started to bug me to death.
  10. Oh I know. I have just never seen a spot this rough before. Once me and my dad both get on top, I don't think I'll ever complain about little piddly shit ever again.
  11. Eh. A little. Thing is, this isn't everything. Some things stay between me and my counselor. Lol. I got a little bit of a get away a few weeks ago though. I play bass in the college jazz band, and we went on tour. It was like a constant party, man.
  12. I've been almost asleep at my girl's house and then thought about how someone's build is going since I hadn't been on for a day and picked up her iPod and gotten on for two hours. Good thing she was asleep, or she would've jumped on my ass for 1. Wasting time on the internet instead of sleeping at 3am and B. Being on her iPod.
  13. I'm happy to say it's good news so far. I have a job interview tomorrow at Martin's. They are five people short and we are very good friends with the manager. I'm not getting my hopes TOO high, but considering that and the experience I have I might have a full time job. I'm not sure if I'm quitting BK or what. I asked to be as close to full time as possible, and they gave me 16.5 hours originally this week, but added more because someone quit. Might go to Hardee's. They need people, and I have two family friends that are managers there. One is the hiring manager for this district. They told me it's very easy to move up to a Shift manger from an hourly and get up to GM in no time. Just have to show that you want it, so I might go for that too. Also, and I kinda don't like bringing religion into public forums, I get baptized Sunday. It just feels right. It feels like a good time for a new start for me, and even though I was baptized already I was VERY young and I feel like I did it because of my parents. I just feel like this is what I need. One singular person that I know won't go anywhere. I'm just drawn to it. Not by any person or anything, I just feel drawn to church and to do this. I've neglected my religion for years now, and it's gotten me nowhere. So I'm going to try it His way. Enough on the religion rant. My dad has snapped out of his little hole he dug and has gotten determined to find a job and change his ways. He called somewhere earlier and they need someone really bad. They need a rollback driver to pick up dumpsters. He told them he has no experience, but he has a CDL licence with an up-to-date medical card and is definitely willing to learn and do whatever it take. They guy told him no, they need someone with three years experience. This has been the case with every truck driving job. What I wanna know is how anyone can get experience if it takes experience to get the job. Pfft. Total Bullshit. But it pissed him off bad enough for him to want to actually try. I might take Fall off from school and work full time. Or I might just take online classes or go part time. I'm not sure yet. The bank is holding out on us with the house and want us to keep it, but they haven't moved toward a foreclosure yet. We haven't been served with an eviction notice or anything. But I want to cover my bases. Honestly, I want to move out. I feel like I need some time on my own. I'm an adult, but I have very little experience at it and I want the experience. I want to do this, but it will require me to have a full time job. I already put money into school, so no I have no doubt that I'll finish it. That'd be like buying all the materials to wall off my car and never doing it. Well, that's all I've got for now. I don't know how much you guys actually care, but I just had a lot on my mind and wanted to post it somewhere. This place feels like a brotherhood, so I figured ya'll might have my back. Didn't want all my friends on Facebook worrying about me. I just hope ya'll don't read this and think I'm just bitching about life. I just want a better one. That's not too much to ask for, is it?
  14. Congrats man. I don't personally know the pain, but my dad does. He has been on the same stuff, but has a different problem now to overpower. Quitting anything bad and addicting is hard. From drugs to watching porn.
  15. Doing a little build for my girl. I had one of these 8" Dual Bandpass systems in my last car, and it served it's purpose, but I stepped up to something better when I got the Malibu. I gave it to her since I didn't wanna sell it or anything, and I figured she could use it. She has a VR3 h/u, with two rca outs, usb, aux, and sd input. Honestly, she has no rear stage, only front, so the one sub, one amp rca setup is perfect for her truck. I'll get her a front stage eventually, but she's not big on audio. The box didn't fit behind her seat, as I guessed. So I started to build one for her. I went sealed, since the sub is coming out of a 4th order. That would mean the EPB was under 50, which to my knowledge means it is best suited for a sealed or 4th order enclosure. I made the box 8x13.5x24. The interior is 6.5x12x22.5, which comes to 1.02 cubic feet. Pieces cut. This is what I'm finishing it with. I just tested it on one part. It's kinda like the stone stuff, but it's not so rough. Put together and started filling cracks. I'm not the most spectacular person in the world at building enclosures yet. In case anyone is wondering, no. That's not bondo. I was using wood filler and ran out, an I considered going with wood putty. But then I saw this stuff and figured it was worth a shot. Not trying to innovate or anything, but I like experimenting. I went apeshit on this side because the side got crooked somehow. Well, time to let that dry. In the mean time, DINNER. Sprayed a little black on it to see my low spots as I sand. I didn't get too far because the thick places weren't dry yet. This shit gets smooth as a baby's ass. It's also dusty and turns you into a white kid. Lol. I got the hole for both the amp and sub cut, and siliconed it. Yes, I said amp. I'm using the amp that is attached to the bandpass box, so it needs a mounting hole. And I tried something a little ghetto that didn't end well. I tried making my own circle jig for the jig saw, and the saw ran away, so I filled that spot with plaster. I then made a compass, drew out a circle, and cut it out, as I should have in the first place. Cutting corners gets you nowhere, folks. I should've learned that a long time ago. That's all for now. The thick spots should be dry tomorrow, and I'll be getting it sanded, painted, and installed.
  16. Been planning on it. It even does it when I drive straight. It seems like it starts when I stop quickly early on in a drive.
  17. It's not always on. In fact, the faster I drive, the less it stays on. Lol. The alarm from it turning on is annoying though. My car dings everytime any lights on my dash turn on.
  18. I thought it meant it was working. Lol. Damn guy at the dealership said that. And then I saw a post on the malibu forum with a guy that has to have a bunch of parts replaced on his 98 that checked out his brakes because the abs light was on. I've never been too worried about, but I was just wondering. He had his car checked with a code reader, but the two places I've checked won't do it unless the check engine light is on.
  19. Has anyone else though about the fact that some cars come stock with a tint darker than the state law allows? Like in GA, cars are only supposed to have 32% at most, but don't some come with stock 20%? I just though that was odd... I might just sound like a jackass right now, but maybe someone could shed some light for me.
  20. Ah... Ok. That explains alot. I've slid a few times when I had to slam on the brakes, even in dry weather. They didn't stay locked up or anything though, thank god.
  21. I don't collect bottles, but I started collecting shot glasses when we went on a spring trip for band my senior year. Only have like 10 or so, but I wanna get one for all the states, places I go, and whatnot. My band director looked at me kinda funny when I told him what was in my bag from Downtown Disney in Orlando. Lol.
  22. Mine is always on. Could I potentially have a bad problem? What exactly do I need to do to get it checked?
