  1. Yeah man. There's plenty of lakes around here, too. I just recently picked fishing back up, so that's why I want a boat.
  2. As soon as I get my life straightened out, I'm going for this. I can't even believe I found this on Youtube. It's long, so don't blame anyone that just clicks through it or doesn't watch much of it at all. It's pretty thorough, though.
  3. Hmmm... Would this help my dad more than me... I'll swing that by him. May actually have a plan now. There's a double wide on a half acre for $5k. If my dad gets his taxes back on time we should be able to move into it. However, this will require him to get a job and us to work together. And for him to straighten himself out. He has a couple problems of his own...
  4. Actually since Burger King started buying back their franchises and turning them into corporate locations it is a good place to work. The restaurant industry is a lot more stable than retail and in some aspects education as well. Granted the pay is not very much, but Fast food has a very high turn over rate. So bumping up into management is fairly easy and pays close to what most employment agencies pay. Not for BK. My store has someone that's crosstrained and been working there for 5+ years. He's more than qualified to begin management training, but they don't take anyone from within the stores. They outsource for people that have already been managers and train them our ways of doing things. I've only been there six months, but I started crosstraining after two weeks and can do almost everything in the store. All they use me for right now is filling empty spots at odd hours, even though 3 people just quit. So I'm just gonna find another place to work. I've asked to be full time or close to it loads of times, yet I get 16.5 hours a week. I know not every store is like mine, but they treat us like shit and use us. A lot of people that have been there forever just quit because they finally got tired of it. Wish I could get on a plumbing gig like one guy did. He makes about a $1000 a week.
  5. I'm gonna give it a shot. I'll let ya'll know how it goes. I tried it once before, but all I did was put my body in sleep paralysis. I think I may have done something wrong that time.
  6. Sad thing is all of my equipment except for two guitars, my keyboard, and my drum set is pawned. So I currently have 3 guitars, 3 guitar amps (including my Marshall stack, which was my graduation present), my bass, and my bass amp in pawn. I easily have close to $5k or more invested in musical equipment. Edit- So I only have one working electric guitar, and one electric I'm in the middle of refinishing left, with no amp to play on.
  7. Man, after finally getting a clear head a couple days ago that helps. Music is my life, man. Whether it's playing it, learning about it, or building big bad ass bass cars. I just gotta get some money put back. My college grades suffered pretty bad from everything going on, too. So I lost my PELL grant... I heard I can try to appeal my 67% probation and get it back though, so I'm not even sure I'll be able to afford school in the fall. Sucks.
  8. Thought that myself. She's been pissy lately. Saying I'm "too clingy" and such. "See? This what I'm talking about. I came down to my room to be alone for a second, and you followed me." Ummmm... I went down after she had been down for a few minutes because everyone upstairs was loud and annoying.... wtf? Anyway... That's the only real place I have to go out here. I could move to Marietta with my aunt, but I go to school in Carrollton (for anyone who knows where stuff is in GA). If your engaged how can you be "too clingy"...? Part of being engaged is gonna require being around eachother. Good luck though, i hope everything works out for you THAT'S WHAT I'M SAYING! I mean, WE'RE GONNA HAVE KIDS AND SHIT. She thinks I wanna be in her bubble and personal space all the time. After checking her horoscope, though, this is apparently "not a time of romance" for her. Pfft.
  9. Been there done that. Walmart is an excellent location, get a gym membership to pass time and shower. It's funny because I originally went to school for music education, with a minor in performance (trumpet) and voice Not scared to. Well, atleast a little.... Ok... That idea scares me shitless. I got a dog though... And he gets car sick... Haha. Funny you should mention that. That was my plan. Because it's the most central location in Villa Rica, so anywhere I work wouldn't be very far away.
  10. I'm not the first person at UWG that has been homeless and gone to school, and I won't be the last. One of my good buddies in jazz band was homeless for a whole year. He spent some nights in practice rooms and such. Might have to do it. My fiance's mom is going to let me store a lot of things at her house in her shed. Thank god. I can get my mom's stuff put away and kept safe at least. It's been a long five years. mainly the last two. My mom had been ill since I was in 7th grade. She had her first heart attack that year, and then a year later had open heart surgery. I spent most of my high school career taking care of her, which is the main reason my grade were horrible and I graduated with an "eh" gpa. My parents were splitting up mid 2010, and dad lost his job in August of 2010, the day before my mom was moving out. She passed away in January 2011, after my dad had been reconsidering the whole ordeal and thought about asking her to come home. Spent most of those months going between three different places. My mom's apartment, my dad's house, and my fiance's (who was then only my girlfriend). Me and my mom didn't along so well, seeing as how I felt my teenage years were robbed and such. Plus she had changed into a totally different person. She was always angry about something and always lashed out for control. We did get along a lot better before she passed away though, but I'll never leave anything else unsaid. Life ends so quick... It's only too sad the doctor was right... We were told after her surgery that she was morbidly obese, if she didn't get healthy and lose 100lbs she wouldn't see me graduate... My dad's been pretty bad, has still been out of work, and still hasn't gotten over it. That's pretty much where I'm stuck in the middle of things... He got way behind on house payments, and the auction is July 3rd. He might be able to keep it after he gets his tax return, but at best that would only delay things and give both of us more time to act and come up with a plan. He's used me a lot, so I'm moving by myself. He has his own issues to resolve, and I have my own life to live. So... That's where I'm at. I have a lot of people willing to help. If I have to, I have family in Hiram as well that might let me stay with them for a bit, but they already have a packed house. Looks like camping or couch surfing it is. I'm sprry for the pitty party, guys. Just kinda giving you things from my perspective.
  11. At this rate, I'm a bit worried that the system I put in my car wasn't such a bad idea, because it might be my only way to pass time in a month... =/ Hooray for sleeping in a car...
  12. I aim to major in Music Education and minor in Music Performance on tuba and bass, with a jazz certification on bass. I have heard good things about Hardee's. It's very easy to become a shift manager and climb up the ladder to GM there, unless they just tell you they're gonna move you into management and use you like they did to my future brother-in-law. I bust my ass and do EVERYTHING by the book though, so I might give that a shot. I'm very customer oriented in my job because I know that it sucks ass when you get shitty service. I like to see when people keep coming back because I took the time to correct a mistake or whatnot, instead of being snobby and rude like the other people I work with. 9 times out of 10 when someone else is dealing with a customer and they get angry I can start talking to them and correct the problem and have them walk away completely happy, so that might help me move up faster if I can start working there. If that was the case, I'd just work my way up into upper management and do that. I actually enjoy my job as far as what I do, but I don't enjoy the place I work because of my irrational, idiotic managers and coworkers that make me feel like I'm in high school again. Fuckin' dumbasses....
  13. Man, I've considered taking the next semester off. I already put 5k into it, so I'm going back. I love to learn, and it's the only way to get ahead and get the job I want. The labor rent would be the case if I stayed at my fiance's. I don't mind it at all. I already do work around the house when I'm there. I wouldn't even mind buying my own groceries and such. It'd just be a matter of her and her mom being ok with it. I mean, she said they'll help me out all they can, and the biggest help they can give right now is give me a place to stay until I get on my feet.
  15. It is scary as fuck. I have honestly never been this scared in my life. My absolute last option is military. If you ask anyone that really knows me they'll tell you straight away I DO NOT do military. We've been trying to get shit caught up. We got way behind on payments and shit... And auction is July 3rd, so we've gotta get everything out by then... Still waiting on an amended tax return to get a few other things straight. Found some nice places if I could get some cash. Found a double wide half the size of the one we're in now on a nice half acre for $5k maybe 5 minutes away from here, and it's closer to school. Just don't have any money, and need a place to stay until I do...
  16. It's officially come down to the wire and I've gotta move. Going alone this time instead of with my dad. It's getting hard. It's scary as fuck. I don't have an official place to stay yet. I thought I'd be moving in at my fiance's place until I got some money put back and got on my feet good, but I haven't spoken with her mom about it yet and she "doesn't feel like our relationship is ready for us to live under the same roof yet." Pfft... My parents moved in together after 6 months and were married 22 years. Not ready for living under the same roof after 2.5 years my ass... Unfortunately, my work gives me no hours as well. I'm making MAYBE $400 a month right now, so sharing rent with pretty much anyone is out of the question. Fuckers... I asked to be full time. I don't recall full time being 16.5hrs a week. I have a good friend trying to help me get on at the O'Charlie's washing dishes for $10/hr for about 30 hours a week though. I already wash plenty of dishes at BK for minimum wage, so it's nothing I'm not used to. Wish me luck guys. Gotta be a big boy from here on out. I'm not sure what my dad's gonna do, but I've got my own life with my own problems to straighten out and I have no answers to my own problem. I can't help him if I can't help myself.
  17. Yeah I was worried about the vs thread thing after I posted all the other companies with prices. I'm mainly looking at price for power. I'm trying to keep it at a good budget, around or a little over $3k before wood. Which I've pretty much managed. They look pretty legit. It'll be close to a year before I do anything though, so I've got time to think it over.
  18. Are they any good? I haven't seen too many builds on here using them, if any. I really want to give them a shot. I wanna try 15" GCons. I mean, look at power vs. price for that range of power handling. SSA GCon $230 750w Sundown SA $235 600w Skar VVX $235 600w AA Chaos $280 800w That's the prices I got from SSAs site. Looking at that, it looks like a great choice. I mean, I definitely wouldn't wanna pay $5 more for 150w less power handling, or $50 more for only 50w more. I have considered giving Daytons a shot. They have a few that range from $160-210 a piece that handle 800w, but they are made for home audio or PA setups so I feel kinda sketchy about it. Plus ScottishBear kinda walled his Malibu with them and I don't wanna feel like I'm copying anyone... Back on topic, are they a good buy? The main thing I'm looking for is performance vs. price. I intend to run 4 off of a Hifonics Colossus at ~800w a piece, and I don't think ~50w over rms will hurt them. I've seen vids of the higher end SSAs like the XCon or ZCons, just not and of the GCons. I just want to try something different from everything else I've seen. But what do you guys that have more experience think? I'm working on a tight budget here.
  19. those are the builds i like doing I'd love to see what you could do with a little Malibu. You got ALOOOT of creativity man. It gives me a lot of ideas and different perspectives on how to do things. The only thing keeping me from running with the big dogs right now is money. If it wasn't for that, I'd say to hell with it and start building.
  20. Man, if I had the money and lived in the area, I'd leave a car with you and say "Have fun! Let me know when to come pick it up!"
  21. Give that bitch a subwoofer. Bitches love subwoofers. Well, I did give that bitch a subwoofer, and she loves it. BUT SHE WANTS ME TO MAKE A NEX BOX. Sigh...

  22. Nah man. I definitely don't feel comfortable doing it myself. I think I can pull of wrapping the dash and everything else. Just not the sewing and everything that goes into seats.
  23. How much does it generally cost to have two seats reupholstered? I want to do a full color change on my interior and the only thing I don't feel comfortable with is the seats.
  24. 98 Malibu. I forgot about this thread until I saw it when I was about to post another.
  25. Hopefully somebody can come along. Even if it goes into general audio. I'm not really trying to start a build log, I already have one. I just wanted to post some future plans. So I wasn't exactly sure where this goes, that's why it's here. Man, I'm stuck on my subs... Someone else used Dayton on here and it turned out pretty well, but for one I don't really wanna feel like I'm copying anybody and two they're really made for home stereo use. Atleast the one's I'm looking at. So... I'm really stuck between the Daytons and GCons. I've seen the higher end Cons (X and Z) do some serious damage, but I can't find anything on the GCons. No vids or anything.
