How to wire under the car?
b-dubs89 replied to SlamminBeats's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
i like using the silicone spray lube that leaves a dry film for pulling wires -

don't know alot about headers but i would be willing to give those a try , i think if you buy those headers you may want to spend some money on good gaskets and some locking fasteners . it sounds like header bolts can be tuff to keep tight . they like to rattle out or loosen up -

i had a k1500 pick up which had the 4.3 (tbi) at one time , thought about trying to find more power , didn't find very much for the 4.3 as far as performance parts . plenty of stuff for 350's. as far as i know the 350 and the 4.3 will share the same bell housing . my understanding is the 4.3 was the result of removing 2 cyl of a v8 . my hunch is that to get some ponies out of a 4.3 would be a big project , the kind that involves some learning . always thought it would be fun to build a turbo v6 though . if you were going to put a vortech 350 in a blazer i would look for an engine and tranny out of a gmc or chevy 2500 because the tranny is more likely to be a 4l80e which is a beefier trans -

well imagine spending double the gas of your blazer , vans are kind of the best of both worlds as far space and practicability . my friend has an 00 expedition sitting on 17" tires and he sees 16-19 mpg depending on conditions -

i don't know if i am lucky or something but with my 95 with a tbi 350 i got about 15-16 mpg in the warmer seasons but dipped down to 12 in winter and my 96 with the vortech got a consistent 16 even with a pop-up camper behind it . -

i have had 2 suburbans and loved them both , but at 12-16 mpg i could not swing it . as for the truck you are looking at i think 1750 is on the high side with out knowing more about the vehicle $130 to fill tank at current prices and the tank will drain just as fast as a vehicle with a smaller tank -

a 10 " table may be useful for cutting smaller pieces but i think what you want for larger pieces is a circular saw with a rip guide , assuming you are on a budget like many otherwise you might want something like this

b-dubs89 replied to MrSoundz's topic in Subwoofers / Enclosures
i would think the 15 would give you a bigger sound , and the tens might be punchier if you want to get an idea of what the t1 will do check out rf's website its kind of cool http://rats.rockfordfosgate.com/ -

b-dubs89 replied to TheNewbie's topic in Off Topic - Random, Misc posts - the forum "Junk Drawer"
investment . although i have been kind of cheap about it all , buy a lot on ebay and used gear here and there a lot of times i actually make a small profit on some of the gear i buy and sell . got a pair of older alpine type r 10's in a prefab box off ebay for $48 to my door last year -
i don't think there is any need for any elaborate break in on speakers of any kind , although you may find that some speakers just keep getting better as time goes on
