Are shallow mounts alright for what they are?

pretty damn impressed with my buddies JL 13w7. handles about 500watts in a sealed box. Sounded great....but if I'm paying 500bucks for a sub, that wouldn't be one of them

I have a buddy with the memphis shallow mounts, they get down pretty good.

my sd-2 10's get down and their rated 500rms but you can feed them 750rms with no problem
