  1. I've changed to either five 12's sealed or 4 twelves ported...still deciding...no sketches. it's just measurments and in my head. It will be built in the car. I'm leaning towards doing 4x fi q's ported but the price doubles as opposed to doing 5x Soundstream Ref....Either way there is plenty of room I've got 40" of width 25" height and lot's of depth
  2. Yeah I'm re-thinking thsi and looking at doing 5 subs whcih will put a 1.6 ohm load to the amp. Which I would guess to be perfect expecially one you add up impedence rise
  3. sonic seems to have alot of stuff out of stock right now
  4. bump this. anyone else
  5. no the Reference only reccomendation is sealed. that's why if I did a ported sub I could only do 4
  6. I can fit either and have trunk room. 6x12's will actually probably fit better. Internally 23" x 36" x 12" minus subs and bracing = 4.8 ft3 /6 subs = .8ft3 SS suggest .75 ft3 :^ and I still have the back Half of my trunk left
  7. Actually I was thinking 6 x 12's sealed or 4 x 12's ported. It's the most I can fit behind my backseat and face forward after sealing of the trunk of course
  8. Oh, I Know...but i gotta do Alternator,baterries,front stage, In-dash DVD. plus skiing, a couple winter trips I need more $$$$
  9. hey, watch it buddy
  10. yeah it's going in Jetta trunk and would like a little room left
  11. Yeah but they need about twice the size of enlosure as the SS reference
  12. I haven't heard either, but ROE seems to brag on the type r's quite a bit one thing I did notice about the SS is the low FS should really wobble the car especially for a twelve
  13. well if I did 6 12's I would do kicker wire it to 1.3 ohms and it should be happy with impedence rise plus I would be happier do to a little lower price on the matching amp for my front stage offsetting the cost of the subs
  14. I was thinking the same thin a couple of weeks ago...sure enough, big as sheetmetal screw in the tread.. :'(
  15. I was thinking of doing 6 x Soundstream Reference 12" (here'a a link to the sub http://soundstream.com/subwoofers-reference.htm) sealed on a Kicker 2500.1 I'm having a hard time deciding what direction to go. $$ is a big issue. so I'll probably do either a RFT20001 or Kicker 2500.1 and I was thinking of the above set-up or maybe 4 x Alpine type R 12's ported or even 4 x Diamond Audio D6 10's (I already have 3) ported. IDK what do you think?
  16. not really just 3 tens...not like my jeans were flapping in the wind..you can just feel the air being forced out of the car
  17. Just spent an hr and a half changing a flat tire > Of that time an hr and fifteen was spent just trying to get the spare out :R from under my 200 lb. sub enclosure :R.. You wanna know something though after all that frustration I turned my system on with the door open and could feel the bass moving the air around me and could see the windshield fles and the trunk and roof flex and I thought to myself I LOVE BASS time tot get some run-flats
  18. run an extra 0/1 and link the negatives as well as grounding to chasis
  19. I'v eblown up more then my fair share..it sucks but it's always a good laugh :^
  20. anyone would be willing to help...nothin more fun then blowin up subs...can always find a way
  21. Personally I would suggest 4 runs of 0/1 gauge over one run of 3/0 gauge here's a place that has it all even 4/0 https://weldingsupply.securesites.com/cgi-b...EF:OR:terms::PA
