  1. Sorry if this is in the wrong spot or what have you, but I LOVE the idea of a raffle.. seriously the chance at spending ten bux and getting a sae1200d or something is awesome 1 out of 25 is still good odds for sure. raffles = FTW bump for more raffles!!!
  2. yea i never use the bass knob, if you set your gain right you should be good, and i guess you could edit your eq settings on your hu to fine tune to your liking, i do a lil bit, but as far as a knob goes, the only positives in my mind are like if your need to quickly kill your subs ie:. cops-- but i mean the volume knob also does this -- if only a lil bit slower or if your trying to pull a "meade" and surprise peeps with the bass during demos or something.
  3. yea remeber the AP is dual mono and its 3000 bridged at 2 ohms so only d2's would work and itll be a bit high on the power if you actually produce 3k
  4. im sure you know already, but it looks like its kinda close make sure that box dont slide back none, your surround slapping against tht amp isnt going to be good... p4killer
  5. either use nails with woodglue and let the glue sit clamped and nailed overnight making sure you have good wood to wood contact etc, or predrill, glue and screw leave it clamp it if you wish wait around an hour if your planning on using under 1000-1200 watts or so glue and nails will be ok anymore power screws would be the better option the bad part about screws is that not predrilling right can lead to screwing through the walls/ splitting etc also note that too many screws greatly weakens the box i tend to think no screws closer than 2 inches from any corner its really a preference kinda thing, but i think the consensus is predrill w/ screws as far as type of screws, idk much about this screw vs tht screw i just pick up some 1.5'' woodscrews from home depot (orange box) all the above is IMO of course goodluck m8 P4Killer.
  6. im looking to get with a clan/group on some 1943 idk if there are any league aka ladders out there, but im tired of pubbin it up with noobs and losing as the top of my team and everyone else struggles to get over 100... GamerTAG= you guessed it p4killer hit me up.
  7. yea i think its going to rattle alot, but if you use peal n seal maybye not on the plus side-- it would be easy to flare!
  8. I called him up to see wtf thats about, its settled.
  9. Loading issues....? Explain everytime i asked people they just say ugh idk thats just what i heard or something similar
  10. WOW Kory thanks alot dude ahaha way to vent on me, someone must be having a bad day////
  11. So I know everyone is into 8's these days I was thinking a box resembling a V8 Engine.. With ( 8's and of course you would run Sundown E8's lol The volume isnt calculated or anything I just sketched this up.. How much volume for an 8 anyway? Like .75 Cu Ported? anyway 4 woofers on each "head" and the amp in between on the top sorta looks like an engine block with a 10" aero at the bottom like where the fan or w/e might go... i was think .75 Cu * 8 subs = 6 Cu , 10" aero = 78.5 sq in of port.. 78.5/6 Cu =13.33 sq in of port per cube and the woofers pounding away sorta like the pistons in the engine moving,,, idk you could put one of these in your back seat,, and bass race a "mid engine" setup?????
  12. Yea theres no way anyone could say how many deebeez louder it will be, but if your going from the trunk to the cabin, it will be a big dif. I had my 12's in the trunk and it was pretty nasty.. i put one sealed 12 in my back seat and i can already tell its going to be such a huge dif when i finish the rebuild in the back seat.. I cant wait. to the OP, if your going from the trunk to the cabin it will be big, but just a box to a wall, it depends.. like someone else said, the closer/smaller the cabin you have to louder it should be in a celica, going from subs in the back seat to a wall just behind the front seats... i dont think the gain would be that significant i think the difference in build quality between the wall and reg box would be the more of a factor, i dont see 6 db's coming from such a simple change from back seat to wall, but who knows do it, test it, let us know
  13. I wish i had a TL to record the diffrence, but yea rubber surrounds for me it would be funny if you saw someone in the db drag lanes with like a space heater blowing in there car from an outlet, between runs, like how people charge their bats.. like dude i gotta get it hot in there , loosen things up to get my 160 lol ok im done:p P4Killer
  14. So i been bumpin my lil sealed 12 setup for a week or two, and ive gotten used to it and hows it sounds etc etc... today is the first kinda hot day since i redid things, and the music playing and im like "wow, its a bit louder than usual" i know spl measurements are sensitive and alot of things obvi including temp can effect your score. I was just wondering if there was a consensus or rule regarding ambient temp inside the cabin vs SPL levels? thanks, P4Killer
  15. i never really had like premium woofers, i might add no fi's or t3 for me maybye thats the dif
  16. there is always a break in period with woofers.... my fubars used to STANK after like 60 sec at 50% or so... like real bad real quick it just gradually goes away and after all the soft parts get worn in,,, WAnk AwaY but if the sub is used, then first of all check the actual woofer make sure its in good shape to begin with, after that its prolly just too much power type arghhhs are good but they def no BTL about what might stink while breaking in... like extra glue on the coil or the glue just warming up and settin in
  17. yea dude ported is the way to go for sure... i just ripped my subs out and did a simple sealed enclosure for one twelve, and while its decent and def better than no bass at all... IMO once you go ported, you never go back. just the extra spl is worth it compared to slighty better sq of a sealed enclosure.
  18. i knew there was some official list hanging around multi my numbers by pi and they are the same
  19. Well my initial guess is the 15's will be louder. lets crunch a few #'s roughly-- the cone area of a circle is Pi*r^2 since we are comparing two circles we can leave Pi out of the equation and still have the same ratio (2Pi : 1Pi versus 2:1 same ratio) so anyway radius of an 8 is 4inches, 4in sq is 16 so each 8'' = 16(Pi) radius of a 15 is 7.5'' , 7.5 sq is 56.25 so each 15'' = 56.25(Pi) so just and em up:p 3 15'' = 168.75 8 8'' = 128 12 8'' = 192 so 11 8'' roughly is about the 3 15'' and since the 15's would be ported... i think it should be louder than 12 sealed 8'' plus you said you already have all three 15's whereas youd have to sell em and then buy all those 8's-- id stick with the 15's IMO hope this helps P4Killer
  20. i thought we were talking about 2 subs in two dif boxes.? what you have drawn is a 6th order BP no?
  21. again, im not buying woofers ,, thats NOT buying woofers... just bored and i was thinking like oh if you had XXX amount of money in this case $500 idk or something what would best? thats all lol
