  1. i understand wat ur talking about i just dont know wat ?'s ur answering. so wat ur sayin is i need a 250 amp anl fuse right? Yes
  2. only tha bass amp has a built in fuse but tha 4 channel amp dont. Then you will need to add another fuse right before the 4 channel and for that fuse I always stick to the manufacture's recommendation. the 4 channel amp has 2 30 amp fuses on the outside and the bass amp has 140 amp fuse on the inside, so y do i need a fuse be4 tha 4channel amp? This means that they both DO have built in fusing so you don't need to fuse right before the amp.
  3. only tha bass amp has a built in fuse but tha 4 channel amp dont. because you said this.
  4. yea if i should get a 200, 250, or separate fuses. I don't see any reason to use dual ANL fuses up front by the battery unless you have more than one wire up there or the combined value of the fuse excead's the anything you can find. I would use a 250 amp fuse.

  6. you are talking about the main fuse up front by the battery aren't you?
  7. I would use a 250 amp fuse. I like to have a little headroom in my fusing exspecially if my amps have built in fuses.
  8. I have had a few weeks to play with my amps now and I have to say that I am really enjoying them. Both your A/B amps and your class D amps sound great. I'm so in love with my 100.4 that its pitiful. The amp has more than enough power for me and the crossover section is unbelievable. My 1500v.2 sounds really good. What is there really to say about a sub amp. Its efficient and the variable subsonic filter is great for me since I run such small drivers. The power output spread between my 3 SC 10s is just the right amount of power for them. I have no regrets and nothing but excitement over my system since I have fully changed out my amps to your products. I am a fully satisfied customer. Products I'm used to running --- RF power amps and older Kicker ZR high current amps.
  9. This is my Alpine of choice, CDA-117. I'm in love with mine and the 4 volt pre outs don't clip. http://www.alpine-usa.com/product/view/cda-117/ I got mine off of Amazon brand new for around $250. FYI I have been running Alpine for around 13 years and I have found that the CDA-117 is very user friendly unlike all their other high end CD players from the past that were a true pain in the ass to navigate and set up. Again I love mine a lot EDIT: I just found this review, http://www.pasmag.com/car-audio/test-reports/747-alpine-cda-117-headunit?q=cda-117&showall=1
  10. Ya man I feel that what I'm wanting would need to be designed 100% brand new from the ground up. This would have to be designed from scratch and again would be very very expensive to tool up. I just wanted to get the ball rolling by putting the idea in your head man.
  11. Ya man I know you would have to tool a new basket and the other issue is the motor. For what I have been thinking about would probably have to be a NEO magnet. Its not that I'm a fan of the neo magnets because of the issues with heat but because a normal magnet would have to be too big of a motor structure and would ruin the mounting configurations I have in mind like mounting under the dash firring downwards or sticking them in rear doors or even mounting one in the glove box and would simplify the install in a center console. Jacob I do understand that this would be a very costly thing to design and put into production but after meeting with you a couple of times you just seem like the kind of guy that would at least consider doing a little R&D on something this different even if it didn't leave the drawing board. I am curios as to what the lowest Fs you have been able to pull off with the 8 inch subs you have been playing with? EDIT: I do think that the market is small enough that it wouldn't hurt to look into the design.
  12. Ya I own a set of them. The DD looks pretty beefy. This is just something I have been thinking about since everyone has been putting a lot of effort into designing 8's, this is kinda in the same realm. IMO
  13. Who me? To find out if it is worth it to design and what kind of competition a person might have and what is their product and what might be wrong with their design. EDIT: and just because its a forum doesn't mean its not a conversation.
  14. yes. beastly little things I thought so. OP: They're not production subs yet, I don't believe. Email DD about it and they can give you more info. So DD is working on something.......Cool And I forgot about JL but then again its JL. The Kicker Competition from 96 to around 2000 was one of the last of my favorite 6.5 inch subs but it needed a little less than .5cf of air space to perform. There isn't enough companies playing with the idea yet to not consider the thought.
  15. If built and designed rite you could possibly out source this product to other OEM companies too. Home Theater or computer subwoofers. To me there just seams to be the potential for something like this even if it wasn't dedicated to car audio.
  16. Mostly sound quality competition where upfront bass matters. Also to factory stereo owners that want to add just enough when it comes to bass. I have had the mind set for years that I want all the bass in the world but I don't want to sacrifice space in the cab or my trunk. To modify a rear deck to add just enough bass might not bother alot of people or in 4 door vehicles you could drop them in the rear doors for your bass and a nice set of coaxials in the front doors. I guess I'm still after the idea of being able to have a reasonable amount of bass without the loss of space.
  17. I'm not seeing anything under their subwoofer section but their new web site is nice. I want a true 6.5 subwoofer optimized for small sealed and small ported designs with free air use being an option. and I would love it if the frequency response could go up to 500 hertz but I don't know if that would be possible for what I have in mind. He would have to tool his own basket and that is one issue.
  18. Jacob I'm asking you because the odds of you designing this is better than anyone else. For years I have been interested in the idea of a 6.5 inch subwoofer and it seems that with all the effort that has been going into designing high output/low frequency 8 inch drivers that now is the time to start talking about this. I can see alot of potential for uses for a true 6.5 inch subwoofer. What are your thoughts on this idea? Mostly I'm thinking subs that work well with being mounted in doors, rear decks, center consoles, and something small enough to produce real bass up under the dash even. Is this a product you might design some day?
  19. Hey man you still alive and kicking or what?

  20. Security screws, 45 with hollow points, and honestly try and make your install as complicated as you can to install and uninstall your product. A couple of things to think about when you have done an install that thieves struggle with to get out is that when they run out of time trying to get your shit there is a good chance they will try and ruin your equipment on purpose. They might punch holes in you woofer cones, shove a screw driver through the front of your radio, maybe try and bust the terminals off your amps just because they can't steal your equipment. Thieves are absolutely fucking worthless. Its a shame that people have to worry about things like this, actually its fucking bullshit but thats the way it is. LOL if you try and shoot a thief but don't kill them, they might just turn around and sue you for everything you have. Everything is fucked.
  21. False......still I would have $30 for selling him the box and he would walk away with the box and $40.
  22. Man I'm pretty happy with the product but I'm overly happy that I have been able to deal with Sundown direct. I've been aloud to go to Sundown Audio before I moved to deal with them and even though I don't live close by anymore I know Jacob and Brandon will take care of me if an issue was to arise. As far as the 1500 goes, I'm running a 1.33 ohm load and I went from an amp that was 1500@2ohm that I had modded to an amp that does 1500@1 and I didn't notice as big of a loss in output as I thought I would. Its a noticeable amount of change but not a lot. I'm looking forward to trying out their subs. I have had my eyes on their Z series since it came out so that is what I will most likely be getting.
  23. I'm bumping this just because I'm bummed that I didn't get any comments. LOL call me childish but I'm excited about my install and I'm very excited about running a new company as far as amps go. Well I have been running their A/B amps since like 07 but this is my first sub amp (SAZ-1500) from Sundown. If things go well at work this spring I plan to get either 2 SA 12s or 1 Z15. So far so good and I'm quite happy.
